This channel exists to document unit counters within StarCraft 2. Tya's Unit Tournament features epic battles between units in StarCraft 2, using music from the game's soundtrack. Units are chosen from Protoss, Terran and Zerg forces, or a coop commander such as Raynor, Nova, Artanis, or Kerrigan. Units will independently use their abilities, in a basic way. All units use Legacy of the Void stats, the same units you'd see in SC2 esports controlled by the likes of Serral, Maru, and ByuN. The resource beneath vespene is the unit's cost in the mod I run on the SC2 arcade, Direct Strike. Enjoy! - Hry
I was gonna show off some more patch note changes, but then I was like, kinda hard to even notice things like hydralisk damage points. Anything you'd wanna see?
Ghost & Raven. They are what's changed the most.
Will you be using the updated units from here on out?
Carriers with lower shield interceptors?
What does the damage point means?
More mixed units, like Marine zealots vs Hydra Thor
I just love those tanks casually rolling past the Archon-Zergling fight. "Don't mind us, nothing to see here" 😅
Dang, already sieged siege tanks are brutal. At first I was thinking the immortals would carve through but wow. That range advantage is a serious game changer when stacking them like that. So many rows can shoot at a time its crazy.
Would be fun to see that fight again, but vs the old hardened shield immortals, just for some revenge.
It's not necessarily the range, a couple of immortals can easily carve trhough a encaped placement of tanks, even if already seiged, it's the splash damage that gets the immortals. Both Sc2 and Sc1/BW seige tanks are used mainly as direct high damage splash defenses. It fits their role too, as artillery bombardment today is used exactly as seige tanks are used in game, for softening up defenses and carving through armies.
I think it's both range and splash damage, here both factors seems relevant and decisive because contribute heavily to the amount of dps
It's just critical mass. The Immortal:Tank ratio is 5:3 but 5 Immos will definitely beat 3 Tanks. 50 Immos will likely beat 30 Tanks as well but closer.
These fights are always kinda slanted towards tanks because of the one direction approach and the tank's long range. I think this would have looked a lot different if the Immortals were even approaching from just two directions.
Your visual editing and transitions always are on point (new viewer myself haha) but the audio of this one in particular was perfectly done. Was a great paced watch!
So you know how in every video I say "Never bet against immortals"?
I stand corrected.
You know it's a good day when you get a 4/4.
I wanna see that first fight again but with the Immortal's old Hardened Shields.
Surprised the Protoss did so well in match #3.
I think if the bcs had been replaced with the same value in Marines it would have gone the other way.
Don't underestimate protos infantry
The Protoss side is nearly double the value though. It was actually still a better value trade for the terran. It maybe could have gone the other way even with just the BCs in front of the marines instead of behind.
Nice to see tanks already sieged. Great vid 😁
Tanks good unit.
What I've learned from watching every one of these is that splash damage really is the best thing in the game.
I wonder if the immortals would have done better or worse if they got into close range before firing -speaking of which I don't like how hydras lost their bonus damage when up close.
Out of 800 zerlgings, 1 killed 2 archons, while most simply perished. It is some really smart ling, way ahead in evolution compared to rest of flock.
Marine: You gonna give me y'orders?
BC: Yes, Commander!
Oh siege tank, I never doubted you
Depends on if the tanks come pre-sieged. They win most of the time even if they're not, so even against Immortals they'll win pretty much every ground match if pre-sieged.
I appreciate the BC warp in
Void Rays didn't attack Battlecruisers which they should attack but still Protoss won here
the Voidray taking sweet time to appear, making me worry for the Stalker
4/4. Always bet on siege tanks.
tanks in second battle: "sh*t, let's on ghost division and start turbo mode to retreat"
Splash is King. Also, Marines without Medivacs are not as good as people think.
Tanks that are already sieged will basically stomp at least twice their value in ground range units - specially armored ones. That's of course if the opposite player insists on doing the dumbest thing and standing in range from them instead of trying to get in melee reach, where tanks might get a chance to get off one extra shot (not guaranteed considering how long their cooldown is!), but then will be helpless until they unsiege and even then be forced to take weaker shots with no splash.
Now I Wanna see WoL immortals versus tanks
Can someone tell me what the red and blue icon below the resource cost means?
On the stats, you have minerals and gas. What's the third one?
Specific to Tya’s custom game mode, which they also use to run these battles.
Damn, it's like mowing the lawn.....
4/4. The third match felt like a trap
Hyper advanced aliens that have teleportation, force powers, creating artificial stars..
Humans. Hmm.. bigger bombs, more bombs.
200 3/3 Siege Tanks vs Dehaka please.
What about Gorgon battlecrusier vs campagin hyperion or augustgad pride
well now i know the counter to immortals XD
Tanks second battle just passing through
SC2 Ultras really do have SC1 Dragoon pathing....
When you counter your hard counter.
yo tya you forgot to include that the BCs have yamato in the upgrade list
4 for 4, 2 things are pretty constant in these, 1. tanks almost always win 2. stalkers almost always win. can't believe i got a full 4 for 4, feelin good
Golf-clap over the Siege Tanks vs Protoss Anti-Siege Tank battle.
if this were old immortals those tanks wouldnt stand a chance
not so sure about that. with so many siegetanks i think the splash would destroy the hardened shield.
@@igni7352 They do, indeed. Tested it before. Sieged tanks in large numbers beat everything on the ground except zealots and zerglings. For those, you have to unsiege to win against.
I am severely curious if you do anything else for income. Watch these videos everyday and you kinda the ghost behind the scenes
I am surprised void and stalkers can win, despite voids targeting marines which is a complete waste
Its cause BCs have poor dps for their cost. They are great alpha strike units....but fall short with sustained fire
Stalkers have bonus damage to armored units.
@@wolfwarrior1176 I just basically use them harass mineral lines and yamato a few big units later on before moving on. It's a silly strat, but it works every now and then.
@@snagsTS for a supposed be all end all unit...they suck. Like seriously this is a highly sophisticated battleship and it can die easily.
@@wolfwarrior1176 they are great at harassment, but they suck at pitched battles. Sure they can tank a bit, but almost never worth the resources committed to get them on the field.
Tried as hard as I could, but I only got 3/4
honestly if marines lose against anything. It just means you didn't throw enough marines at the problem
Strongest type of siege tanks vs one dehaka
How many shock divisions would you like? Because there is zero contention that the strongest seige tank in the game is the shock division.
0/4. Ouch.
2/4
Archons have one job, and they fail it.
Tbf, fighting mass zergling in any open field is suicide
Gas is more valuable but 13500 resources lost overall vs 18850 is a good trade. They lost the fight but as far as doing their job, seems like they worked as intended.
I mean, there job is mostly midline tank. The anti bio splash is a thing, but its mostly that they are a ranged unit woth 400 shields. If there was anything behind them they would be doing great, and if there was zealots in front they would do amazing. Or if they could disengage when almost dead and have a sheild battery full heal them, something other protos units can't do/have to do far far earlier to get an actual full heal.
in sc2 wol there would've been like 2 immortals lost.
Actually, they might still have lost that. In large numbers, tanks still beat immortals in WoL.
Tanks good unit.
They really ruined the immortal jeez
First X-0 in a while!
3/4
Pitiful. Just pitiful.
WoL immortals would have made powdered cheese out of those tanks.
not so sure about that. with so many siegetanks i think the splash would destroy the hardened shield.
Nah, Tank is better, nuff said simple as

I think the result of Immortal vs Siege Tank (both super anti-armor) highly depends on "formation". The outcome might be different if the formation is drastically different, say "immortals coming from all sides" or "huge tank concave with a super long line of immortals" 🤔
0/4
0/4, rip
0/4
that has to require some skill, right?
Never bet against auto blink stalkers
Unless you're anything with DPS or tanking because stalker DPS is poopoo
3/4 , BCs suck
the whole starcraft is a piece of crap. tanks destroy everything on a ground, cruisers destroy everything in the skies. marines with pathetic rifles can carry all the game. what a nonsense, not a game mechanics
Somebody is butthurt because he/she can't play RTS games.
Go back to fortnite, kiddo.
Lol noob
