    Hi, I was able to solve the problem with vortex mode (v- mode) canon m50+zhiyun crane m2: when you calibrate the gimbal for the camera pull the bottom axis (M2) all the way out. It will take time but in the end it will work.

    Just got my M2 today, I LOVE it! Right now have the M50 with kit lens and it does exactly what I bought it for, smooth pan and tilt, that's all I needed. I sell footage on Shutterstock and this gimbal is going to dramatically improve my shots. I am getting the 50mm and the Viltrox in a few days but I don't feel I got cheated because of the balancing as I also have cellphones, gopros and other video devices that will do all the trick stuff. Great video bro!

    I have the M2 and I too have the exactly same issue with balancing and vortex... I have a Panasonic TZ80, and basically impossible to balance it completely... hence then not being able to use the vortex mode... this gimbal is sooo annoying to try to balance... I have no problems with balancing with a SMALL camera such as a GoPro and Samsung ST500... but my TZ80 drives me insane...I get to the point where I don't want to have the hassle of trying to balance the gimbal so I hardly use it. I did get it very cheaply on EBay for AUS$299... so I was very happy with that price... I have the Weebill Lab as well... and I love that one more so as it's a lot easier to balance than the M2... but that's abit too bulky and big for my liking, which is why I like the size of the M2.

    Hey, thanks for the video. Shame you couldn’t see the actual value of the gimbal. The M2 is the only lightweight option for M50 that actually works. Oh, Crane plus and crane V2 work, that I have tested. But with the batteries and mini tripod, are well over double the weight. None of the earlier models would connect to canon either. So no loss there and the M2 has more modes than the earlier metal body offerings from crane. I shoot from an electric skateboard, sometimes for hours at a time. I need something lightweight that can handle the weight of M50 and 22mm lens. After nearly 2 years using the likes of G6+ and crane ‘M’, both shake intermittently with the M50 and 22mm pancake, I am looking forward to using this in real-time conditions at the weekend. In tests a few days ago it held up well, even does inverted with those tiny arms, amazing. Expecting this lightweight offering to handle zoom lenses is a little unrealistic. Best of luck

    • @Tvennet
      @Tvennet  Před 5 lety

      Think you missed the point. I see the value of the Crane M2, and the 15-45 isn’t a heavy zoom. It’s even listed as a supported lens from zhiyun’s compatibility list so it’s normal to expect it to fully work. I never said that it didn’t work well, on the contrary, it works pretty great, as mentioned, with pancake lenses. But you also need to admit that using it without a wide angle enough for people who want establishing shots and/or vlog (since it’s a feature that is advertised)
      22mm on thé m50 isn’t « wide » in my opinion. Still I really like the gimbal, I admit it’s the best lightweight solution for the M50, but I wouldn’t keep my hopes to high. And as always with Zhiyun, not trusting the payload.

  • @pxl-cube
    @pxl-cube Před 4 lety

    I'm just so unsure if I should by this thing for my a6400 or not. I'm planning to use it with the 16-50 Kitlens wich shouldn't be to heavy, but also with the Sony SEL-35F18 lens which also meets the max payload requirement, but its just a bit on the heavier side for this gimbal and I'm just not sure if I'm not better off buying a bigger gimble because it might get me more stable shots. However, this one is just so much more compact and "travel-friendly"

    • @Tvennet
      @Tvennet  Před 4 lety

      You shouldn’t base your decision on the payload capacity. Really. I owned the Crane M1, the weebill lab, the Crane M2 and used the ronin S. None have been true to their payload, because there’s one thing that isn’t taken in consideration : the camera form factor. Normally, with an a6400, it should be ok, because Zhiyun likes to support a lot of Sony cameras. Also because the eyepiece is on the side of the camera which prevents some issues in some of the modes. But I would be in your place, I would buy a little bit heavier gimbal, the price difference between this and the weebill S for example is a 100$. 100$ for a better gimbal that is still comfortable to travel with isn’t a big deal. Especially when it also would be able to support a little bit heavier setups...

    • @pxl-cube
      @pxl-cube Před 4 lety

      @@Tvennet Okay, wow. Thanks for your quick response :) Yeah I guess you've really got a point there. I guess a bigger gimble is also just going to be a bit more "future proof" so I can put on there heavier lenses wehen I need to. I'm still struggeling a bit to make a decission between the ronin sc and the weebill S. I think the weebill S looks a bit more compact so I'm propably going to get that one although it's a little bit more expensive.

    • @Tvennet
      @Tvennet  Před 5 lety +2

      Don’t have that lens, but from what I’ve seen, it’s the same issue. You need to kind of unbalance resulting in less stable footage. Best option for vlogging is either your phone, a 22mm pancake lens or accept that it’s not going to be perfectly balanced.
      Now it’s still possible to balance it properly, but then you don’t have some modes like vortex, which for vlogging isn’t necessary, so yeah why not.

      Hey Sylvia,
      I don’t own the G6 plus, but from a little bit of research, they look pretty much the same. Couple of small differences here and there, like the quick plate, the memory lock and axis lock mechanism, but they seem to be very close to each other. The G6 suffers from the same problem than the M2 if you use it with the Canon M50, the eyepiece will hit the back motor.

    The M2 is too small for mirrorless cameras. They should have called it the “Crane pro Go” or “Crane Phone Go pro” cause anything the size of a mirrorless is a pain and a hassle to set up and waaay too many jitters in your footage due to it being so small. Stick with the Crane M1 if you have it or get something bigger.

    • @Tvennet
      @Tvennet  Před 4 lety

      Even the M1 wasn’t really strong enough. I personally always advice to start with something like the weebill lab, even if there’s a heavy contender right know which is the Moza Mini P that actually can even support some bigger setups like a 10-18, and isn’t getting those jitters.

  • @james8fate

    Not the gimbal.

    • @Tvennet
      @Tvennet  Před 3 lety

      Well, for someone who knows how to properly balance a gimbal, it’s not a balance issue...and when the manufacturer himself confessed that to properly use the gimbal for certain mounts you have to unbalance it...it’s a gimbal issue. Thank you anyway.

      It’s not about what it’s described on paper. The body is chunkier than a mirrorless camera, you’re never going to be able to balance it on such a small gimbal. The Crane M2 is made for mirrorless cameras, and preferably cameras like the Sony A6xxx because they’re small, compact and not too heavy. 450gr+ the weight of your lens + battery is going to be too heavy.

      Nope, didn’t tried that one. One major flaw I see with the isteady is not having axis locks.
      In the end, almost every gimbal does what it is supposed to, getting things smooth. Some of them have a bit more features but that’s not really what I am looking for. Mon B you mean The weebill Lab? Or the new Weebill S they are announcing on October 11th?
      For the weebill lab, I’m not going to make a review because it’s already a year old. All I can say is that I love it. It’s lightweight, compact, stabilizes the footage like it is supposed to. But again, like with any Zhiyun gimbal, the payload is a bit of a lie. The canon M50 + sigma 18-35 are way under the payload, and it simply doesn’t balance at all, even with counterweights. Reason why I keep my 24 and 50mm prime lenses for gimbal work.
      The Weebill S...I don’t know, it’s officially announced in the coming days, so I don’t know if I’ll have a chance to get my hands on for review. But if I do, I’ll make a video about it.
