This is a renaissance for Nintendo news channels, there’s just so much to talk about. I love it.
I think Nintendo’s next successor will be a Switch like system, that’s clear and it’s clear that Nintendo recognises that digital games may outsell physical games but they physical games as equally important which is relief for me as the vast majority of my Switch library is physical games. I’m excited for Switch 2 now as Nintendo has finally announced it exists.

God, I hope Nintendo doesn't reject physical games in the future, and I hope that the next-gen Nintendo console isn't the last physical system.
That's my three fears about the next-gen Nintendo console, Denuvo/DRM crap, lack of backwards compatibility, and digital only console.

Good video. It's evident that the switch will be an iteration on the current hardware, sticking with the hybrid model, and being backwards compatible. Also evident that we shouldn't expect a dry year for games, nor should we expect a lackluster launch lineup for the successor.
Nintendo just needs to BE CRYSTAL CLEAR with the marketing that it's not an expansion of the switch (ie Wii U). The name will be incredibly important.

I hope the next switch gets better streaming service access so you can have more than just Hulu and also have stuff like Netflix, Spotify, etc.
Expand studios? Nope. They’ve already coalesced the studios they need. They let each IP fund its future. The remakes fund the new versions essentially.
Seems crazy, but all I can think of to hit that 13 mil would be a Metroid prime 4 release with a Metroid oled model. Something like that could sell a grip of product. Obviously not 13 mil though

Since they talked about having already prepared for the investment for some time now, I'd say that "requires years" means [at least] most of that projected time has passed.

I'm hoping this all means that the new console will be backwards compatible.
To me it sounds like they are more focus on Nintendo Online considering that in previous rumors said that the new swich will have double screens which means there might be Nintendo Online Wii, Nintendo Online Wii U, Nintendo Online DS and Nintendo Online 3DS which actually make a lot of sense if the double screen rumor is true i would just call it the Nintendo Switch pro or the Nintendo 2 Switch and call it a day. 😅

I still predict that Switch 2 will make its debut at the fall direct, and have a full presentation in Jan. Prime 4 will release this holiday season, but one more huge unannounced game as well.

I'm curious which dreadful fate you're referring to.
I am crossing my fingers for backwards compatibility. Though they did say they are focusing on maintaining the systems/interest in the move to the new console so I'm [tentatively] confident this is a tick in the backwards compatibility column.
Just hope they don't do a digital model switch 2 like sony and Xbox did with there console's
Ayo *Nintendo Prime* even though so many new content creators that I never seen or heard are making videos and news on Switch 2. I'll continue to support to your channel and *Sun Bro, Mike Odyssey, Nintendo Land and Andreas Restart* that's it the rest of these content creators are just following the bandwagon and their videos are copy/paste of what other people already said they have nothing new interesting news worthy of watching like you and few others do!

People don’t want to hear this but Switch 2 will likely be revealed between january-march of 2025 and get released in Fall of 2025.
Nintendo expects to sell 13.5 million units of the original Switch between March 2024 and March 2025. The only way to do that is to maintain a strong focus on the OG Switch for the remainder of 2024 and hold off any major announcements (using video teaser/trailer) about the Switch 2 until early 2025.
A price drop could help but Nintendo is very trifty. I also don't see them releasing TOTK -like games (in terms of sales) for the Switch this late into its life cycle
Very much possible, but that would be ridiculous, in my opinion. Dragging the Switch for so long is insane.
Pokemon Legends ZA is likely releasing this fiscal year, early 2025, exclusively on Switch.
That would certainly be "that totk" level game to push sales in the 4th quarter.
@@NintyPrime But even if Pokemon releases in early 2025, it still doesn't make sense financially to formally announce the Switch 2 with video trailer in 2024 (and thus beginning its promotion/advertising) while also trying to promote an important game.
They would shoot themselves in the foot trying to promote 2 things at the same time, especially since the Switch 2 would likely overshadow everything else
Nintendo is going to try to sell both at the same time. Nintendo is going to be continuing to sell and release games on Switch for likely the next 3 years.
They have done this repeatedly throughout their history, and it's gone well for them. Switch will get discounted, one of the versions discontinued eventually, and it will be their budget option for gaming.

Of course Nintendo wants everyone to buy digital games. I on the other hand will not spend $25+ on a digital download. I want to be able to sell/trade the purchases I make in the future
