- I had a pretty rad year riding my mountain bike this year. I got my sick Canyon Stoic 2 early in the year and had a blast shredding on it. Single track, downhill, cross country, dirt jumps - I loved it all! It was a sick year, and I intend to have an even better year in 2022!
My name's Tyler and I love mountain biking! I live in the Midwest United States (not typically known for great MTB riding) and I want people to know that us riders here in the Midwest are awesome too! We don't need huge downhill trails to have a good time! I just got a brand new 2021 Canyon Stoic 2, and this bike has got to be the best hardtail of the year! At least for the price. So I'd at least say the best budget-friendly hardtail of the year! I'm stoked to be able to share it with you guys. I'm also stoked to ride it this summer and let you guys know how it goes!
If you enjoyed this video free to like, comment, and subscribe. I really like making these videos and would be so pumped if the channel grew!
If you live in Southwest Michigan/Northwest Indiana (or really anywhere in the Midwest) let me know. I’d love to hear about any awesome mountain bike spots that you know of.
Cheers!
Tyler

Let’s kill it this year bro! Siick video and you rocked it last year bro!
Oh yea dude! let’s do it. When do you want to go to Ray’s?? lol
The king is back. Sick to see how you made your " man cave "
Haha Thanks!! Yea that was a fun project!
Excellent progression!
I bought Stoic2 by watching your video!
I placed my order on the night of Dec. 23, 2021 when the M size was back in stock.
My budget was limited, but I didn't want to buy a bike that didn't perform well.
By watching your rides I found the Stoic2 to be adequate, thank you!
Thanks for watching. That’s sick!! You’re gonna love it. Truly believe it’s the best bike you can buy at that price point.
Hi man! Please do a total overhaul of your fork. You can cooperate with some other chanel for it. I want to know everything about this bike. Like can you fit a wide range cassette without changing the derailleur or tunability of this fork by the oil ot different negative spring or DIY volume spacers. Cheers!
You're going to love Ray's in Cleveland!
I took my hardtail and had a blast but I'm renting a dirt jumper next time.
NIMBA has an event planned for March 5th but I'm going back again on Feb 4th and 5th.
You should come too!
Dude I’m looking forward to going so much! Dang, I would totally meet you on there on the 4th but I’ll be out of town that weekend. I’m hoping to go the weekend before that!
@@MidwestMountainBike hope you have a blast man!
I love your videos Bro! What a good energy! Greetings from Germany!
Thanks so much!! Cheers from Indiana USA!
That's some lofty goals! I can't wait to watch the fun. Maybe you can get out and enjoy some snowboarding while you are waiting for spring.
Yea that would be rad! I just gotta find my snowboard first… haha
Hey Tyler hope everything's good
Im a Colombian guy who just came to the US and a huge fan of mountain bikes
I used to ride my hardtail back in colombia, manizales my city well known for the Enduro trails we have there
Yesterday I bought my new bike an specialized stumpjumper Evo comp alloy and I dying to take it to the trails
The problem is ... I don't know where to go haha
It will be great to have some recommendations and why not maybe hit some trails if you like
Anyway, nice videos and good luck this season
See you on the trails 💪🏼
That’s awesome man! I hope you’ve been loving the stumpjumper! The trails around here can be pretty fun. I’m sure it’s nothing like riding in the real mountains, but I still love it. I’m sure the trails were pretty awesome in Columbia. See you on the trails my friend!
My Stoic will arrive at the end of January, I'm waiting. it is a pity that we have a lot of snow now, until spring we still have to wait (
Thanks for watching! Excited to hear you’re getting the Stoic! I know how you feel though, there’s lots of snow here too. It’s so hard to wait until Spring!
What camera setup have you been using? Some friends have been curious what our riding has been like and they've been asking for video... esp of my occasional crashes. Your setup looks great.
Haha nice! People love seeing the crashes lol. I have a GoPro Hero 9 for the POV and just use my iPhone X for the camera shots. And I just use a free app called InShot for editing. Thanks for watching!
@@MidwestMountainBike Just a Hero 9 and a chest rig? Wow things have improved quite a bit since the last time I tried to film some sport POV.
Nice video. Fun to watch :) I came across your channel when looking for canyon stoic reviews. I am looking for second bike for trails to my 10 year old HT CrossCountry bike. I have budget to choose Stoic hardtail or Neuron full with similar spec. With that case, do you think you would choose Full or stay with HT ??
Thanks for watching! Man that’s a great question, I l absolutely love the Stoic hardtail! But I might choose the Neuron if I could afford it. Having the rear suspension isn’t always necessary, but would be really nice to have when I go to the bike park and hit bigger features. I guess it depends on the type of riding you do. Don’t think you could go wrong either way!
Really, can you get the Neuron same spec at same price? Sounds too good to be true.
If not. Get inspired like me. Back to basics or back to simplicity. Ended up with mine Stoic 2 at the end because of such reviews like here (really, this channel was the final drop!) and availability form Canyon.
I found the Stoic needs some upgrades, so ideally Stoic 3, but I am bored of waiting ... 2022 good to go!
Nice video,
Are you maybe going to get you a full suspension?
Thanks! Thanks for watching. I love my hardtail! But yea I would love a full suspension too if I could afford it! I would love to get the Canyon Torque or Spectral
@@MidwestMountainBike Spectral!!!!!
Super video!! Quick question... What kinda dropper post should i buy for my stoic 2? 31.6 or 30.9? And how much travel if im 184cm tall? Ty man!
Magyar? :D

@@adamosaurusrex66 hopp, köszi, ez elkerülte a figyelmem!
@@mategoncz4029 np :D
I live in the Chicago suburbs and trails are not easy to find. What websites should I use?
Thanks for watching! Check out the MTB Project app. You can find most trails there. I’ve heard good things about the Palos trails area. But if you’re willing to drive a bit, Creekside Trails in Valpo is really fun, and the trails at Silver Lake County Park are super fun too. And Little Switz Bike Park is a further drive but is totally worth it when it’s open!
@@MidwestMountainBike I will check them out, awesome videos, thank you. Wishing for a short winter.
