What are the costs of each treatment?

It really depends where you live. Here in the Midwest it's about 1,500 per treatment for the combo BBL/Halo.

I had a BBL and Halo 10 days ago and my melasma looks the same. My derm said to give it 2 weeks. Thoughts?

My doc told me that he doesn’t believe in treating patients w/ BBL or Halo due to it not being aggressive enough to give long-standing results. I initially wanted BBL, but he claims the research backs IPL for discolorations, and if a patient wants to get rid of scars, he says fraxel is the best path to better long-standing results.

Hi Patti, melasma is often a contraindication for BBL or IPL, although I do treat it with Halo. Several treatments should be performed at different depths to treat the different layers of melasma. I like to do combination treatments: Halo at one session and then a a melasma/sun damage specific chemical peel later on. You’ll also need to continue using daily SPF, pigment corrector and retinol/tretinoin. Hope this helps!

@@falconeddie4109 interesting that your doctor doesn’t believe in BBL since it is IPL technology. BBL is trademarked through the company Sciton. I can assure you I have outstanding results with BBL and Halo for both discoloration and scars and the treatments can easily be customized for as conservative or aggressive as the patient and provider deem safe 😊

I also had them both done. Not remotely worth the cost imho. It got rid of a few very small red marks but nothing for brown spots. While they recommend multiple treatments, I think this is for very young skin, say under 35 yo.
