This was a great episode fellas. It’s always a treat when professionals; with your level of experience, share your pearls of wisdom.
My father had surgery a couple weeks ago, so I was particularly excited to hear Dr. Bitters’ tip about using SkinTyte to reduce inflammation/swelling. I’m marching my dad into the clinic ASAP to do a SkinTyte and help him heal.
Thank you Sciton for having Drs. Pozner and Bitters host. Keep the episodes coming👍🏼

Very interesting chat and a lot of new information. Is there a study you can share on the effectiveness of Halo on actinic keratosis as per Dr Bitter ?

In the 2018 American Society of Dermatologic Surgery Journal - Dermatol. Surg. 2018; 0:1-4. In the Letters and Communications, Hybrid Fractional Ablative and Nonablative Resurfacing of Actinic Keratosis authored by study investigators, Megan M. Brown MD and Arisa Ortiz MD is discussed. On the halo sciton protocol it says 1470nm depth for skin type 4 (Asian) should be 350-400um and Dr. Chris Robb’s melasma setting for type 4 is 400-500um for depth. So is doing 325um ok to do for melasma pts who is skin type 4? Thank you

I’m having Sciton deep resurfacing in a few months. The reason was primarily for tone and texture. The PS suggested that I didn’t need the whole face done but only the peri orbital and around the mouth, marionette lines. After watching this it makes me wonder if he is only addressing the wrinkles which wasn’t my primary concern. How can you address tone and texture in just those areas when clearly my whole face is in need. Did I not ask the right questions? Very well respected surgeon who has done other procedures on me with excellent results so I trust him I’m just wondering if we were speaking the same language. The down time is 14 days and my understanding is he is doing the strongest he can do. And it was expensive compared to other estimates. That being said he is an excellent surgeon. Help! 🤦🏻‍♀️☺️

      Hi Laurie,
First of all congratulations on choosing to have deep resurfacing with a Sciton device. Only knowing a piece of your information, there could be a number of reasons that the plastic surgeon is focusing on the periorbital, lip lines, & marionettes. For instance, the surgeon is thinking of a preventative physical anatomy approach to stave off future aging; you may have other factors, such as your skin type or other condition (melasma, etc.) that may preclude deep resurfacing everywhere or perhaps the available downtime you have. I believe you should make known that tone and texture improvements are very important to you as well. The beauty of Sciton resurfacing devices is that they can precisely remove microns of skin, so the treatment is very customizable, from very light, moderate, and deep, with many increments in between. You can get the best of both! Just let him know. Best of luck, please keep us posted.
