If it was done specifically, they would have to do a waiver on every single person on the plane etc. The show people don't get special rights over normal people.

@@abdus-s it's like this video game that is about character A for 2-3 installmensts, you bond iwth him and his adventure and then comes another game and suddenly there is character B. You automatically lose interest because this isn't the smae thing anymore

Their road trips are epic and a pinnacle of car journalist comedy sub genre. They simply have the chemistry that works great..
Now that being said I don't like the over acting and over production of their interactions to make them more funny than they really are, by the producers of The Grand tour. Their road trips and the jokes in Top Gear seemed less staged and produced, although I'm aware that there was some staging, scripts and acting in these "purely accidental" moments of the fabulous trio during TG.
Just seeing a bedraggled May sat in his car going "Oh you pillock!" had me laughing like a madman.
