    Hi Miranda I'm a new subscriber to your channel and am catching up on all your videos with you and your mum which I absolutely love.i have just taken down Nigel slaters Christmas chronicles from my shelf. From the videos I have watched so far I know you are a big jane Austen fan and I came across a recent book jane Austen's table by Robert Tuesley Anderson I'm sure you probably know it but I can see you and your mum having tea and chats over lady Catherine de Bourghs caraway and raisin breakfast bread . Much love to you both x

    Thank you Miranda, So many wonderful books here. I’m actually going to read The 13th tale as a buddy read next month. And also thank you for all of a kind family. I’m a Jewish grandmother, well a Puerto Rican one too, and I want to read this and give it to my granddaughter. The comfort book club sounds wonderful. As a lifelong reader at age 71, I want to read happier books more than unhappy ones. And I started my channel because I didn’t see many women my age on book tube and I didn’t hear of that many books about old women and I wanted to change that. Passing was my favorite book of last year.We don’t have a real winter in Hawaii but we have Santa Claus on a surfboard and many Hawaiian songs. Aloha

    Im reading Diary of a Provincial Lady for The Comfort Book Club👍😀 and must finally read The Thirteenth Tale as I’ve heard so many good things about it for so long. I’m fascinated by Min Kym’s Gone. As a pianist and someone for whom music is as central to life as books, losing my piano would be like having my right arm cut off (and I’m an amateur) so I’m really interested to read how she dealt with the loss of her violin. Thanks for the recommendations😀👍

    Always enjoy your videos. When you showed The Thirteenth Tale, I remembered I'd found a pre loved copy a few years ago and had it on my TBR bookshelf. I'm reading it now! Also reading The Diary of a Provincial Lady. Sending best wishes from Tasmania.

    @pamelapoet9 Před 2 lety +1

    All of these sound wonderful. I'm especially intrigued by Min Kym's Gone, and Nella Larsen's Passing has just bumped itself to the top of my bedside tower. I finished The Love Child a few days ago, and it's still haunting me. In the U.S. we turn our clocks back tonight. I'm gleeful at the thought of an extra hour for reading. How to choose, though? I'm currently reading A Diary of a Provincial Lady, which is great fun, and Heather Clark's Red Comet, which is a breath of fresh air compared to earlier Plath biographies. I'm also enjoying dipping in and out of Loss, the short story anthology by Victoria Hislop that you recently recommended. It's a real treat rereading favorite authors and discovering new ones. And another of your recommendations, Marc Hamer's Seed to Dust, is such a soothing way to begin each month. Every time I pick it up I fall in love with its book jacket all over again. You introduced me to the joy of seasonal reading--thank you! 🍁 🧡

    It is warming up here in Australia but the weather has been rainy and I have been drawn to nostalgic reads so far this month. I have read Anne’s House of Dreams, The School at the Chalet (ordered a second hand bind up of the first two books and loved this first), Apricots at Midnight by Adele Veras which was a book I borrowed from the library as a child and couldn’t find until recently, The Little White Horse by Elizabeth Goudge and Heidi’s Children which I also read as a child and found a second hand copy recently. I loved The Thirteenth Tale when I read it years ago.

    As usual, these all look like great reads for myself and also some that will be perfect gifts for family members. I know that Lucy Maud Montgomery based her character named Walter in Rilla of Ingleside on an actual soldier and poet. I wonder if it was Julian Grenfell? Either way, I look forward to reading the book.
