Man, I love the look of that thing! The walnut is a nice refined touch against the plywood. And the curve and then angle of the leg...it just works!
Really appreciate that! I am very happy with how it turned out.
Bruce A. Ulrich my thoughts exactly!
Wow that was so cool to watch. Love the continuous filming sequence! Good job
Really appreciate it, thanks for watching!
Seriously, your work is amazing! Great job. I love the contrast between the plywood and the walnut.
Really appreciate it! It's always fun to come up with new pieces. Thanks for watching.
Your video came up in feed today for the first time and I love this build. I'm a huge fan of the exposed edge of plywood and marrying that with solid timber makes for a great combination. I've obviously got some binge watching to do.
I love this design. Really well done!
Really appreciate that! Especially coming from someone that makes some awesome stuff.
Thanks for the kind words! I just went back and checked out your past videos....you definitely are bringing something different to the table. I really like the direction your channel is going. I suspect you'll have a big jump in subscribers soon.
btw - Have you shared this and other videos on Reddit, Google+ Communities, and Facebook? If not, I've found it really helps to jumpstart CZcams viewership, and highly recommend it.
Really appreciate the tips. I haven't done any of that stuff, I'm a little behind the curve when it comes to social media and getting my stuff out there, but this is a good place to start! Thanks!
Modustrial Makeryll
You have the most elegant design style, western free-form combined with oriental clarity and honest construction. Great!
Really appreciate that! I'm always trying to develop my design sense, and your description is very insightful and generous. Thanks for watching!
This piece was exceptionally well designed, meticulously crafted and flawlessly finished. Bravo Sir!
Really appreciate it, Andrew! I strive for all of those things.
I first came across this video and your channel a couple years ago when I was researching laminated plywood furniture for a tv stand i built. Now im getting ready to use this technique once again to build a dog bed, and wanted to do a little more research for the video title. This video popped up again, and i had to watch it for probably the 5th time. The building technique is cool, but what really does it for me is the way you recorded this one. I love how it feels like one continuous shot and the camera just follows you around. Very inspirational!
Really appreciate it! Thanks for coming back and checking it out again! Good luck with the dog bed.
Great design and execution! I did cry a little when I saw wipe on Poly, but it is plywood so it makes sense.
Thanks, really appreciate it! I go back and forth with wipe-on poly, but in this application it works great.
You do very professional. I like your design
Really appreciate it! Thanks!
@@shaunboydmadethis, a channel called "art of life" also liked your work and re-uploaded your vid.
Congratulations, your piece was very beautiful. I love pieces made with plywood.
Parabéns, sua peça ficou muito bonita. Adoro peças feita com plywood.
Yeah, the plywood on it's edge is such an interesting look. Thanks for watching!
Such a great build and awesome video to watch man!! Great job on the bench! ✌👍🤙👊
Thanks, really appreciate it!
Love the design and execution!
Thanks, Tom! Appreciate it!
Thats fantastic workmanship..
Really beautiful..simplicity..
Way to go
Thank you! Really appreciate it!
So nice man! Might have to try something similar with my X-Carve.
Definitely! The guy next door to me has a big CNC machine and every time he sees me make something like this, he tells me to come cut it out in his shop. I enjoy the process, but it would probably save some time.
Shaun Boyd yes, it’s save a TON of time, plus you wouldn’t have that seam there. Probably waste a lot of plywood though.
Yeah, that is the main reason I made it in multiple parts, otherwise I'm not sure I could do it with one sheet of plywood. Would be fun to try a bunch of different cut patterns on the computer to see the most efficient way to do it, though.
I believe design software such as Fusion360 can calculate the sheet cutting plan automatically using the minimum amount of material, but don't take my word for it, I'm only just beginning to dabble in this area myself.
Parabéns pelo trabalho. Realmente é trabalhoso. Ficou muito bonito. Congratulations on your work. It really is laborious. It was very beautiful.
I really appreciate your kind words. Thank you!
Eu realmente aprecio suas amáveis palavras. Obrigado!
Very nice! Well thought out and executed, I love it.
Thank you, I really appreciate it!
Great design! Love the simplicity.
Thanks, really appreciate it!
@@shaunboydmadethis they say simplicity, I see none. This is complex stuff, need some classes and practicals to be able to pull this one.
Nowadays simplicity means top notch work, skills like illustrated in this video.
Looks amazing. Very nice work.
Really appreciate it, thanks for watching!
Simple and clean with a twist! Nice job mate!
That is exactly what I shoot for in my designs! Thanks for watching, really appreciate it!
Great design! Well built Shaun as always!!
Thanks so much, really appreciate it!
I like the thinking behind and it’s nice idea ! Well done bro ... think and build!
Really appreciate it! Thanks for watching!
That is great work! Looks really good.
Very cool. You've got great skills. Happy New Year!
Really appreciate it, thanks for watching! And Happy New Year to you, as well.
I love this piece and particularly love (even if it was probably the easiest part) the walnut leg with the two off angles. Really makes the piece.
Rad design! I really like how you made plywood look great without edge banding or hiding edges. When you use the domino joiner in this do you feel it’s a strong joint? I don’t have one but was thinking of getting one but unsure of its strength.
kudos to your talent, passion, and patience. GREAT WORK.
Thank you!
Very nice build, great skills! 👍🏻
Thanks, really appreciate it!
LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The simplicity of the design strikes........
Outstanding work! Thanks for sharing!
Really appreciate it! Thanks for watching!
Great work! Keep it up.
Right on, thanks!
Awesome work, Thanks for posting the video!!
Thanks for watching!
This is a totally unique unknown design level!
Really appreciate that! Being totally original is hard these days, but it is certainly fun to try.
Very cool piece, true art. Watching you use the table saw with the hoodie strings dangling added some suspense too, Yikes. Thanks for posting.
Bench/ coffee table. Really classy work. Well made🤙
Nice bro, tnx for sharing it!!!
Appreciate it, thanks for watching!
I don't normally comment in videos but felt compelled to tell you how stunning this piece is. I would actually use it as a table in my lounge rather than a bench. Great design and brilliantly executed. Subbed
I really appreciate the kind words! I agree, it would make a great table, as well. Thanks for the support.
Very cool. I dig the plywood "slab" look👍🏻
Thanks, I really appreciate it! The look of the plywood edge never fails to impress me.
Honestly one of the best videos I've ever watched on CZcams, loved it 👏👏👏👏
Dang, I really appreciate that! Thanks for the kind words. There are a lot of videos on CZcams.
Shaun Boyd as a fellow carpenter and joiner I was glued to watching it man, I like watching a craftsman work but especially something as cool as the finished bench 👏👏👏
I know what you mean, I spend a lot of time watching others create amazing things on here. Pretty awesome.

Nice looking piece & impressive skills, am doing some research before I start my first plywood box shelving, Am fast realising that my skill level is approaching amoeba level.

Thank you, really appreciate that!
Look amazing..well done!

Beautiful project... I don't see how anyone could hit a "Thumb Down" concerning this clip? Skill & Imagination!
Thanks, Simon! Really appreciate the kind words. CZcams can be a fickle place.
Great design and execution!!
Thank you, I really appreciate it!
Love it. Cheers!
Thanks! Really appreciate it!
Love the Ulster flag in the background not often you see one, grate work you make that look so simple ✊
Thanks, really appreciate it! I hang that flag proudly.
Shaun Boyd, Are you from Northern Ireland?
No, but my dad is, so I have a bunch of family there. I try to make a trip over every few years.
Shaun Boyd... Do you think it'll be possible to make this wee bench from Malaysian ply? Its a hardwood ply we get over here no where near ase good as birch plywood?
Yeah, for sure. I made a similar piece a few years ago with some cheap plywood and it works fine. The look of the plywood edge will be a little different, obviously. But once it is all glued together, it should be plenty strong.
Great work man. Awesome workshop 🙏🏻
Thanks, really appreciate it!
Fantastic workmanship....good video
Thanks, really appreciate it!
Идея и изготовление : Идеальное !!!
That's a very nice piece!!! I love it!

Great work and nice to see the Northern Ireland flag in your workshop, keep up the great work.
Always cool when people notice the flags. My dad is from Northern Ireland, so I fly it proudly. Thanks for watching!
Absolute beautiful bench! I can't help it but I do love plywood nd being able to see the layers. But for now my wife is in to walnut. Thanks for a great video!
Hey man i just watched this video and it looks amazing! I would love to make this but i dont have all the tools you have. Is there a way to work around it?
Very well done!
WOOOOOOOOOW!!!! Spectacular work! Good Good Good!!
Really appreciate that, thanks for watching!
Loved it. Awesome. Keep it up
Thank you!
Great job bro, well done 👍🙌🙌
Thanks, really appreciate it!
Very nice! I’ve always wanted one of those festool domino joining tools😭😂
Thanks for watching! The domino is certainly a nice tool to have, saves a lot of time.
Really well done. I'm subbed.
Thanks! I appreciate the support.
Shaun I absolutely love this. You are a great inspiration. Wish you could mentor me.
Thanks a lot! I really appreciate that. One of my favorite things about youtube is inspiring other people, and being inspired by other people. That's what it is all about.
👍
Your design your ideas really great,
Tolle Arbeit, tolles Ergebnis. Danke fürs teilen!
Danke!
Fantastic job
Thanks, I appreciate it!
Got me on the hook, subbed.
Right on, thanks for following along!
Shaun Boyd, I am in love with your work as it's truly fabulous the you choose Design and the way you choose to manufacture it. It's an amazing skills you have got in you and I wish you keep prospering in future way beyond this.
I have got a query for you, which wood have you used and of what thickness?.
Thank you, I really appreciate the kind words. This bench is made from Baltic Birch plywood and is around 1¼" thick.
Fantastic project !! GREAT !!!
Thank you!
Great skills man!
Hi! Love the vid! Was just wondering what glue you were using? and what glue would you recommend for making a chair in similar technique? (concidering the sustained load that will strain it.)
Thanks for watching! I use Titebond III for stuff like this, it has a little more open time to get all the layers glued up properly. Once they are glued, it is plenty strong for any sort of furniture application, I have used it on many different pieces like this.
Hats off to you in regard to this project...just subscribed.
Really appreciate it, thanks for the support!
Espectacular!!!!!
Felicitaciones. Excelente trabajo.
Muchas gracias!
that is so cool !!
Thank you!

Incredible.
hello shaun! I love your work, I'm from São Paulo, Brazil..I'm from São Paulo,Brasil!!
Beautiful job and very creative. The lines are clean and sharp! Who said plywood is only used for cheap and ugly projects??? Not me...Cheers Sean
Really appreciate it! It's always fun to take something that we are all used to seeing as cheap or ugly and to try making it into something beautiful.
Awesome!
Thanks!
Hey Shaun! AWESOME WORK! What type of plywood are you using for this build?
Thanks, Dustin. Really appreciate it! I used 3/4" Baltic Birch Plywood for this one.
Thought I'd watch this video and learn something . . . but I've never seen anyone work this fast...💥🥂
If only I could do it that fast in real life!
Great job Shaun
Thanks Frank!
beautiful work of art
Thank you! Really appreciate it!
