By far the bet looking side table I have seen in CZcams. It's not about how to cut the wood in whatever angle, it's about design. Most of the CZcams DIY furniture guys don't seem to get it. Attention to detail in this piece is really standing out. Great job. Really made me want one :)
Really appreciate that! Yeah, I totally agree that specific angles and dimensions really don't matter, as long as the piece looks good. Thanks for watching!
I can't imagine how this got 22 downvotes. Fantastic job. Beautiful piece, Shaun.
Very nice man. I'm always surprised you don't have tens of thousands more subscribers after watching your videos.
Haha, maybe someday. Thanks for the support!
Yea, I'd say the same. Great work, such a tidy shop. Please tell me you have a room at the back somewhere, full of old sh1t... :-)
Haha, I try to keep it clean. There is a loft up above that has kind of become that place for me, though. I try not to think about it.
Shaun Boyd, Hi shaun what part of the north are you from, your work is amazing really enjoy watching your videos thanks for sharing
I really like your builds but for me I think the fact that you don't talk or give some alternate ways to do things (DOMINO) leaves some wanting??
Awesome video shaun!
Zen shop.. Must be a joy to be in!
Thanks! It has taken me a little while, but I finally feel like I have it pretty dialed in. Though it is always a work in progress.
Wow loved the end result, the editing, the music, the video... ALL! You should have thousands of subscribers! (just became one of them)
Really appreciate it! Glad you enjoyed it all.
agreed. This video is in my music playlist. Who made the soundtrack?
very nice work, suburb craftmanship, i agree should have more subscribers
Thanks, really appreciate it! I'll keep making stuff, and if people want to watch, even better.
Really clean build and great lines.
awesome design and execution
Thank you!
Great build, love the sound track!!
Great Work. All the best.
Thank you!
Love the mix of woods in this project Shaun, great work.
Thanks, Paul! Really appreciate it!
Shaun Boyd you are most welcome, it is well deserved praise.
I'm not generally a fan of mid century modern, but I liked this. The copper accents work well.
That's a big compliment, really appreciate it!
That's just a masterpiece! Thanks for sharing and good luck with further projects!
Just wondering, are those stretchers cut 60 degrees?
Thanks for watching, I appreciate it! The angle from the stretcher to the leg is about 100 degrees, and I split that angle 70/30 for the miter cuts. 70 degrees on the stretcher and 30 degrees on the leg. Hopefully that answers your questions.
Beautiful design and build Shaun!
What wonderful craftsmanship -- right from design to precision in execution. Thank you for providing the inspiration. Did you have any concern about cross-grain tension in the way you attached the box to the legs?
Really appreciate it, thanks! The box is attached to the legs with long screws through the copper pipe, so there is plenty of wiggle room for the top to move over time, and shouldn't cause any problems.
Welp... Now I'm all subscribed and what not!! You make it look sooo easy! I love that your shop is simple and not 500k in tools (minus the festool stuff) gives me hope for my garage workshop! Nice build.. headed to the rest of your videos now :D
Really appreciate it, Keith! I am a big fan of making it work with the tools you have, I think the festool stuff are the only tools I have ever purchased brand new.
awesome build and cool music too
Really appreciate it, thanks for watching!
Very Nice. Keep the videos coming. They are great!!
Thanks, I appreciate it. Hoping to see some new music from you soon!
your biscuit cutter got a workout on this one
Mid-century,, check
Modern,, check
Good show,, nice piece
Haha, yeah it did. Thanks for watching!
Pretty cool! I wonder how many cuts that all added up to...
Haha, who knows! I'm certainly not counting.
I'm sure you are aware of your doppelganger, Chris Salomone aka FoureyesFurniture? Holy crap man, you guys are very similar and seem to have similar taste as well. Nice end tables and video. Thanks!
Haha, yep! He makes great stuff, and fantastic videos. He is also a good looking dude, I must say.
Wow great looking table! Thank you for sharing and keep up the good work
Thanks a lot, I really appreciate it!
Nice build
Thanks, I appreciate it!
Stunning.
Thank you!
FANTASTIC
Thank you!
Great design
Thanks, I appreciate it!
I think I just fell in love with that router of yours. Would you mind sharing its details? The video and the table are great too :)
Thanks for watching! It is an old Porter-Cable Model 100. Great little router.
Nice piece! Super video. 👍
Thanks!
I love it, Shaun!
Fantastic work!
Thank you!
Nice design, I like your taste in furniture 👍
Thank you!
You're genus and talented.
Thank you! Really appreciate that!
Awesome job , well done 👌👌👌
Thank you!
I would guess that every single woodworker, no matter their experience or skill level, would want something different from their “perfect” build video. So, you are not going to please everybody; just do it as you feel is best and feel your core audience would best appreciate.
I’m old and I’m sure it’s a generational/age thing that I don’t like loud music anymore. I like softer background music. But that’s me.
What I would appreciate, having been woodworking since before you were born (not something I relish as I would love to be young - or even middle aged - again and make sure I don’t make the same mistakes in life), is to understand your choices and decisions. Why a particular timber; why a particular angle, why a particular joint, why a particular tool - although I understand that choices are sometimes arbitrary as there are many ways to joint 2 pieces together for instance but, sometimes, one is better suited than another. For me, I don’t need to know how each machine works as I use them most days, but decisions on scale, design and manufacture are something that really interest me.
amazing , because of this piece of art no way but to hit the subs. button .
I really appreciate that! Thanks for the support.
I really like the look of this piece the legs specially. The cylinders between the top and bottom are they made of copper? Great work!!
Thanks man, appreciate it! Yeah, they are just copper couplings, which are the best looking thing I can easily get at my local hardware store.
Interesting connection I just made...I noticed the 🇬🇧 on your wall and the bushes outside...are you Alec Steele’s neighbor?
That would be pretty fun to be his neighbor, but I am actually halfway across the globe in California. My father is from Northern Ireland, so that is the reason for the flags.
Great video and groovy music!
Haha, right on! Glad you liked it!
Excelente trabajo🖒
Saludos desde argentina.
Muchas gracias.
Awesome video man
Thanks a lot, I really appreciate it. You have some great stuff on your channel, as well.
nice design
Thanks, really appreciate it!
Really like this, reminds me of the war of the worlds even tho they are tripods
simon clayton My first thought was that it reminded me of the bugs in Starship Troopers, but War of the Worlds is an even better call.
Haha, it does kind of have that extraterrestrial look. Thanks for watching!
Beautiful!!!
Thank you!
Hermoso diseño, excelente trabajo👌👍
Muchas gracias!
Good job, from indonesia....
Very nicely done, I m at the beginning right now, transforming my garages into my workshop. I'll watch with great interest your videos 'cause they give me a lot of clues for what I'm about to do. Keep up the good job! BTW, what's the name of the first song? Don't really know how some consider it bad..thx
Right on, thanks for watching! Good luck with your new workshop. The first song is called Basement Floor by Silent Partner.
Hey Shaun. Great build. Question: Who makes those clamps for the legs seen on the table at 2:41? Thanks.
Thanks, really appreciate it! They are made by Bridge City Tools and called the miter stitch. I just looked on their website, and they no longer make them. Not sure if there is some other company that makes something similar, but here is the link to their website: www.bridgecitytools.com/default/miter-stitchr-sets.html
Artist. Fantaastic.
Thank you! Really appreciate that.
Thank you for yet another Inspiring and well made video, what is the first song? Groovy as nothing else
Thanks for watching! That track is called Basement Floor by Silent Partner and is just one of the free tracks from the CZcams library.
Nice!
Thanks!
Awesome!!
Really appreciate it! Thanks!
Hey mate I love this night stand, I’m planning on giving it a go. Just wondering how or what was the process that you did for the runners on the draw. As the draw is square and the edge of the box isn’t? I’ve tried slowing the vid down to try understand what you did but as a beginner I can’t figure it out.
Thank you! The drawer slide is a sliding dovetail on the bottom center of the drawer. It is a great solution for the situation!
Shaun Boyd thanks mate I’ll give it a shot.
Nice work. How long did it take to design and make & what do you sell it for?
Thanks! I designed this a couple years ago, so can't really remember how long that took, but I made this one in a couple days. I have prices for most of my pieces on my website: www.shaunboydmadethis.com.
Beauty :)
Maybe a dumb question, but I notice you plane your pieces after you cut them on your bandsaw, Ive been cutting my curves after planing, is it easier for you that way? Thanks Shaun.
The only reason I do it this way sometimes, is so that the parts fit onto my small jointer. Instead of trying to mill entire boards flat, I rough cut them into smaller chunks to make the milling a bit easier.
Круто получилось )
большое спасибо
Качественно! Молодец
большое спасибо
Great job! Question... what wood do you use to make your templates? Mdf? Plywood?
Yep, MDF is what I use for all of my templates.
Hi! Good job! How match time need for make it? Thanks!
I've made this piece a handful of times, so I have it down to about two days from start to finish. Thanks for watching!
Shaun Boyd how do I buy from you!?
Hey buddy, just wondering what type of wood you used on this project? :) Love your videos!
Thank you! This one is Walnut and Red Oak.
I very like
Thanks!
Класс!!!! Высокая работа!!!
Спасибо!
I would love to see this build with a voice over rather than a background music. Turned off the volume as soon as I heard it.
You rock 😁😁😁👏👏👏👍🔝
great work! what are the dimensions of this project? :)
Thanks! www.shaunboydmadethis.com/plans/gus-table
Very cool....what angle did you miter the top?
Thanks! The top corners are 80 degrees, so the miters were 40 degrees, which is why I had to cut them vertically on the table saw.
Shaun Boyd Made This makes sense...thanks! Great design
I, too, are inspired by the work of Jory Brigham!
Yep, he was one of my first inspirations when I decided to start making furniture, and still is today. I actually worked for him for a bit awhile back, as well.
очень классный контент! получил оргазм от просмотра канала
😲 благодаря!
Where does one get that planer/jointer.
Mine came from my grandfather, and I am pretty sure he bought it new in the 80's. I would imagine these days it would only be found on craigslist or ebay.

Terima kasih
Funny, I made a very similar end table a couple of weeks ago. Yours is cleaner, though. Lol
Very cool, can't go wrong with the mid-century look. Thanks for watching!
Love the work, excellent video but man, that unbuttoned shirt over the table saw is scary.
Thanks for watching! I think the camera angle makes it look closer than it is, but I appreciate your concern.
Did you edit the video ?
Yeah, I edit all my videos.
Great effort. All the best bro :)
Great work, good video but horrible and annoying music
Haha, sorry you didn't like the music. Thanks for watching.
