Paid influencers are on pretty much every voyage for every cruise ship. This isn’t anything new at all. This particular instance is just being publicized a lot more than usual….
@@fmo94jos8v3cameras on board doesn't mean they are being put on social media constantly, like it seems they are with this cruise. Yes paid influencers have been going on cruise ships, but it seems like there are a LOT of cameras and coverage of this specific cruise that I'm sure a lot of members did not anticipate nor want, especially for a cruise that expensive.
@@fmo94jos8v3 don't be willfully ignorant. private video cameras and influencers recording you 24/7 and posting it to large platforms are very different
It’s crazy because as much as I literally could not care less about any of these tiktokers and their drama I’ve watched close to every one of your videos abt the cruise lmaoooo
I call it The Markie Effect. "I don't give sh*t 1 about [whatever tiktok drama]. Oh, wait, Markie did one on it? *breaks land speed record getting to it*"
So... They would rather pay a FEW people to LIE that they're having a good time at the cruise... Rather than ACTUALLY work their ass off to give EVERYONE a good time.
Ooooh I'd believe it, some coffee people are weirdly smug about their orders lol, I wonder if it's a superiority thing where they want to watch people bend over backwards for them because they are a customer.
@@Diamond1234it IS. As a barista they just love the power trip it gives them to have really complicated orders and to make ( usually young female) employees go above and beyond to please them
I love coffee and I hate how some people who make complicated coffee orders act smug and treat the barista like crap over a dang beverage. If they really want something so complicated; do it at home with recipes, they should really go back to kindergarten and learn basic manners lol.
So my dad was volunteer Cook on Tallship Gazela, which is the surviving Barkantine from the turn of the century, the only extent ship if it’s class that’s not a remake. She’s out of Philadelphia, and I’ve sailed on her myself. Even sitting at the dock, the ship moves noticeably, and when you’re sailing with a whole bunch of volunteer crew who are otherwise slightly yuppified people, definitely a lot of white collar hobbyists involved, as well as some hard-core ship lovers. Anyway, most of these watching their weight type adults have absolutely no comprehension of just how much more they need to eat under sail. What they don’t understand is that even just sitting down on the deck is taking constant corrections of all of your core muscles let alone walking or the actual heavy labor of hauling lines or going up and down ladders and such. Now this is a cruise ship, which is a very different experience, and they aren’t hauling lines and members of the crew in that way, but sitting on your bed is gonna take more muscles than you’re used to. It’s kind of like turning your chair into an exercise ball for the muscular benefit, you don’t realize just how much just sitting Uses your core when it’s not as supported and a little bit more fluid sitting on a ball that requires balance. Every moment of being on a ship is like that on calm seas. it took my dad a few experiences to get used to the amount of snacking. These people ended up doing because they took portions for themselves that were their normal sized portion, but they were still starving because of how many more calories they burned passively let alone actively. We ended up bringing cases of cookies that just got inhaled by people who couldn’t understand why they were so hungry because they ate as much or more than normal of such hearty food. If the seasickness doesn’t kill your appetite, most people discover that their appetite has gone through the roof and don’t quite understand why. They also don’t understand why even if they didn’t do all that much they hurt so much after the first couple of days. Those muscles aren’t used to that kind of workout.
The way the people already on board are acting, I hope whatever creator goes on that cruise next, has a backbone bc that whole ship is going to make their time on that ship, pure hell. There is no way I would do it. It’s going to get crazy.
@@-xxMelissaxx- it would likely be in the contracts rather than the job listing. obviously they want positive reviews, but they also don’t want to be super obvious that they’re paying for positive videos, yknow? it fairs better on their side if it seems like the influencers they choose are being honest
Technically it’s more real since there’s no meddling from reality show people. No setting things up and no editing people in a certain light. Although, unlike the subjects of “reality” shows, not all of these people have signed up for this trip expecting the amount of attention they’ve gotten. Passengers tend to sign up for cruises to have fun, rather than to become a public spectacle. I feel sorry for them (excluding the social media people who are doing this on purpose) that it’s become a “reality show” of sorts.
I would sue Royal Caribbean for false advertising and shitty business practices. Feels super illegal but hey that’s why cruise’s stay in the water so they don’t have to follow any sort of laws. Like the Scientology ship
Remember when they were mad that the temporary passengers got to payless for portions. Now they are paying people to get on I wonder how thats going to go down.
That phone hanging and rocking. I've been on 3 Cruises- it's always like that, this is normal, been on both very large and smallish ships. The ship doesn't rock back and forth like what the phone is showing, it's very slow but the motion gets things rocking like this and it exaggerates what's actually going on, the ship might shift back and forth a few times a minute, but that phone that's hanging will exaggerate and rock many more times per minute. This looks like a very stable ship actually, that's not bad at all.
I think Sebastian's point about this cruise paying for their other ship was trying to say that their focus should have been on creating and delivering a good product first, and then letting the proceeds go toward their corporate needs. It's fine to have corporate priorities, but if you're creating a product with a pre-determined profit margin and basing your deliverables on guesswork, you're going to end up with a bad product and fall short of your goal even more than you would if you overspent to deliver a good one.
Whatever tiktokers suddenly start talking about how good the cruise is their audience is going to question their credibility as a creator. Royal Caribbean should hope that in their terms and conditions that they had something saying that passengers could be filmed and used in promotional videos/pictures or any other content filmed or taken while being a passenger and that buying passage on the ship means you agree to those terms. If not they could possibly be sued over portrait rights and invasion of privacy.
I find it so curious that they let the PR for this cruise get so bad, meanwhile the Icon of the Seas is having the best reviews and pr of possibly any cruiseliner ever.
With Marc Sebastian, its probably the delivery... like I agree with his opinion, but he comes across just as entitled as the Pinnacle members so its hard to be on his side.
He repeated a whole lot of nothing because he has zero charisma. Remember that; if someone has to repeat a phrase or word over and over have a limited vocabulary.
imagine being ganged upon by tiktokers because you get paid to be there and say how great it is, when they paid full price for it. i get why so might be mad at this though doesn't help situation "how some tik tokers act on ship who have ego".
Does that guy not understand he's on a ship that's on the ocean? It's not going to be perfectly level and flat 24/7. The cruise I went on was so violent that the pools would empty and then refill with seawater from the waves and then empty back out again because the ship was tipping so far side to side.... I was the only person in my entire family that didn't get sick and I actually kind of enjoyed the rocking feeling. It was literally like being rocked to sleep all night every night. It was bliss.... And it was fun trying to walk around... 😊
I watch this series, and now I watch your channel in general, all the time and enjoy it and I never pay you for that. So here’s your tip to say thanks since I’ll never be able to be a patron any time soon or anything (if you have patrons). I appreciate you. Thanks for the content.
Also I think the water thing was personal. If they were genuinely trying to be better then they would have given water to more people who require it not just 1 person like seriously I think they did that to manipulate Chris into thinking they are trying to help so the negative opinions change
I actually believe that the water was a dig at Mark Sebastian, to be honest. The reason they're trying to be "super nice" to Christian Hull is because of one thing, and one thing only - he is a bit of a celebrity here in Australia. He is more famous for his stand-up comedy than for tiktok. The fact that Royal Caribbean is now begging for people to give them good ( aka fake) reviews shows just how desperate they are!
I have to agree with the water thing. I was on this ship in 2022 for an Alaska sailing. Water WAS hard to find on board. The only places to get water were from the schooner bar, and one other place that I never found.
I watch a lassie from uk who reveiws cruises some paid for, she tells them il say negitive stuff, shes fair but honest. Im not naive to think she says everything and maybe leaves some out but she has said she wouldnt do 9 month cruise.
I will never forget Jessi from DWKT coming back from her cruise to PR and saying her brother saw a brown bubble in the pool- $2000 is no where near enough to get me to even look at one of those floating cesspools
I really don't understand why people would want to be on a cruise for 9 months. It would be cool at first but I think it would get old pretty fast. Especially with so many stops being cancelled.
You've got to keep in mind when looking at the shop swaying back and forth like that... You're very drunk while this is happening!!! Not a good place for sensitive stomachs...
Way easier honestly drink. Rarely drink, have on cruises with shit weather cos honestly, if I made the world around me a tad wobbly, the wobbly ship doesn't mean much lol I actually gave myself a worse hangover then any sea sickness I've had my last cruise, I over reacted to a weather warning
Royal Carribean need to decide if they are operating a cruise or a social media creation/reality show. Doesn't seem like they can have both as they are sucking majorly
Since the whole coverage about it started I am also getting a LOT of ads for it on my Spotify.^^ I do pay for it, but they yeet ads in front and at the end of podcasts anyway.. Each time I hear it my brain just goes "yeah nah thanks." xD
Well, if you decide that you want to go on the cruise, here’s your chance!! Free AND you’ll get paid for it!! Hopefully it will be enough to pay for your flights!!
Idk im wasnt there but let keep in mind that a cruis is ment for fun and leisurely activities and of course people will take pictures and video but as one tiktokr said "im here to make content" this means record all the time and basically working. I also have to ask, how was there behavior and demeanor? Because i would say that the workers and other cruise participants didnt sign up for antics.
I work in marketing so I saw this coming but honestly shocked it didn't happen before now. Also that they haven't started bribing the passengers already on there. What a mess.
I feel like the cruise could be giving more water to tiktokers after Marc’s videos and the blowback. But regular passengers could still not be getting enough water.
If we look at this logically why would a company PAY you to do stuff you’ve been doing for them for free. I think they should get some type of deal since this campaign is starting BUT them feeling entitled to it is crazy. 😂
Ik you wanna go on the cruise Markie. But don't it's not worth the time you have to be potentially bullied by the rude popular people that's favored and ya you need to keep your sanity
Well maybe if we (I'm guilty too) hadn't spent months hyping it up that its gonna be sooooo much drama and like a reality show people might not have decided to try to turn it into a tv show
It’s hilarious people run to the internet airing their problems out for free then get mad when a company decides to make it a marketing move - Y’all didn’t have to give it all away for free to being with 😂😂😂
Some of the worst people you can invite to ANYTHING are supposed "influencers" lol. Mainly, people TRYING to be "influencers". I've never heard of any of these people, but they all seem desperate to grab the microphone, any microphone lol. Seems Royal Caribbean screwed themselves with this whole shenanigan 🤣 🤣 🤣
Went on a cruise once, hated being in rough seas Also hated the fact that a girl who was with us, well her partner trashed their cabin, flung himself over the balcony and held on with just 1 hand. Many people were traumatised hearing those screams .....so I'll never get on a cruise again
I LOVEEEE when you say “bang out of order” I end up saying it throughout that day after you say it haha 💗 Also I have never went on another cruise after I went on one week long cruise when I was 13-14 y/o and a rogue wave hit us sideways and it was the scariest thing I was laying in bed and the next thing I knew I was like up in the air on the bed looking down on the floor. Also there was a “fat man contest”on board lol and I was watching and me and the rest of the families I was with was like “this guy doesn’t look good” next thing we knew we had to go toward the Bermuda Triangle so he could get air lifted since we were so far out at sea bc he had a heart attack. We ended up staying an extra day on the ship bc of this. It was crazy! Needles to say it was my first and last experience thus far! We were all sea sick. If you have issues with sea sickness don’t get a room towards the front of the boat like we did since we wanted a balcony room.. best place is in the middle of the ship! We were all wearing those pressure point sea sickness bracelets and they helped a lil I didn’t throw up but my parents weren’t as lucky! Only thing I can say that was awesome was I played bingo since I was too young to gamble and won 800$ and my friend won a diamond tennis bracelet! So that was pretty legit! But that rogue wave def scarred me it was so scary s why everything/everyone flying who wasn’t in their room the gift shop glassware was demolished!
all cruises are gonna be bumpy, you’re literally on water- the ocean is one of the wildest most uncontrollable things on this planet, Do they want them to calm the water down or what?
12:05 ships shake, this is the normal amount of shaking for a ship. And your body gets used to it, yo the point you stop feeling and start sawing along woth the ship.
Yeah dude thats some bs.. the only reason I even know this cruise exists is bc of these videos which are bc of the tiktok people who been posting videos from the start. And yeah they're showing the "drama", but no one would care if they didn't. Its still good for them lmao that's fucked up man..
This feels like someone filming a cat, stuck in a tree (which may or may not be their fault) and making it a big deal. Big enough that the local news wants to report on it. And then when the journalist shows up to film the cat and the rescue efforts they get mad the journalist is paid.
The people who are chosen to be paid for their participation will undoubtedly have to sign an NDA before boarding. Damage control right from the outset. Love the intro Markie! Absolutely hilarious. Peace and love to you from Canada.🥰
That tiktoker 'Influencer' Mark comes off like a privileged spoiled brat. The fact that he said he was there to make content not friends shows how self absorbed and rude he is.
Thoughts and prayers to the passengers who signed up for this cruise as a holiday and now find themselves in a reality show from hell
Hahahaha exactly what I’ve been thinking as soon as all of this social media nonsense blew up
nah my parents are on the cruise and having a great time. idk why so many people are exaggerating basic cruise crap.
So nothing hen lol
You just know there's like one person who just really loves boats and saved up for this cruise. And now they are stuck in whatever this is 😢

Is Royal Caribbean *flirting* with you ‽
I LOVEEEE when you say “bang out of order” I end up saying it throughout that day after you say it haha 💗
Also I have never went on another cruise after I went on one week long cruise when I was 13-14 y/o and a rogue wave hit us sideways and it was the scariest thing I was laying in bed and the next thing I knew I was like up in the air on the bed looking down on the floor.
This is worse than a living purgatory. What blows my mind 🤯 is they paid for the privilege of this toxic insanity.
Still think the name should be the nightmare cruise from all the stuff that happened so far.
Thank you Markie for the update on the cruise. 🙌🏼
all cruises are gonna be bumpy, you’re literally on water- the ocean is one of the wildest most uncontrollable things on this planet, Do they want them to calm the water down or what?
I only know about this cruise because of you. Maybe you should get a free trip 😂
5:14
i totally forgot about this cruise until your video just showed up in my feed a few minutes ago.
CRUISE NEWS video… Yes Yes Yes. Settle myself in and I’m ready for the tea.
(Passes you the popcorn 🍿) let’s gooooooo
Bruh every time you make an update I get so stoked.
12:05 ships shake, this is the normal amount of shaking for a ship. And your body gets used to it, yo the point you stop feeling and start sawing along woth the ship.
So happy for the update. I was wondering if there would be another
Yeah dude thats some bs.. the only reason I even know this cruise exists is bc of these videos which are bc of the tiktok people who been posting videos from the start. And yeah they're showing the "drama", but no one would care if they didn't. Its still good for them lmao that's fucked up man..
I wouldn't call what the TikTokers are doing as "free promotion," but I get that he feels ripped off.
"Influencers" influenced me to confirm my opinion of them as narcissistic menaces.
the way you make things so easy to understand. thank you 😂
also the swaying of that ship and all the drunk passengers 🤦♀️
BABE WAKE UP MARKIE'S 9 MONTH CRUISE VIDEOS ARE BACK !!!!!
I’m still SO invested in this series! ❤
This feels like someone filming a cat, stuck in a tree (which may or may not be their fault) and making it a big deal.
Big enough that the local news wants to report on it.
And then when the journalist shows up to film the cat and the rescue efforts they get mad the journalist is paid.
Sunday just got better
"We will give you a free excursion. "
"Mah ha ha ha... jokes on you, we will stop and disembark to get an excursion! "
Yaaaas. I was just wondering earlier when we were gunna get an update 👏🏽
Do it man, get paid to give us what we want 😂
Love your videos on The Drama Cruise 😬
Better watch this before it gets deleted by the TikTok Cruise
The people who are chosen to be paid for their participation will undoubtedly have to sign an NDA before boarding. Damage control right from the outset. Love the intro Markie! Absolutely hilarious. Peace and love to you from Canada.🥰
Desperation at its finest. If they would just do a better job of things, they wouldn't be in so much trouble right now.
This is how the world works... if you are helpful to a company/person, THEY WILL TREAT YOU BETTER.
That’s the way things work!
💌Thanks for the update.
That tiktoker 'Influencer' Mark comes off like a privileged spoiled brat. The fact that he said he was there to make content not friends shows how self absorbed and rude he is.
