Thank you IYW. This video has a content to help interpreters to practice before taking the CCHI / NBCMI test . The agencies provide medical certification required to work in different job assignments, such as Worker’s Comp, some hospitals and clinics scenarios

Thank you for this video. I just keep getting more comfortable with the long segments and getting ready for my test that is coming up next week, but Im sure I will pass by practicing with these videos.

Hey there, I'm about to start working as an interpreter and I feel really insecure. I have to go back a few times for repetition, especially with longer segments. Do people really talk that long most of the time? Really helpful videos btw

Real work is a cakewalk compared to these practice videos. In real life, you can ask a person to stop talking so that you may interpret what they have said so far. Using interpreters is becoming more common nowadays, so most providers are mindful of that and give shorter segments. Having said that, certification tests can have up to 2.5 minutes of length in a single utterance, these videos were made with that consideration in mind.

@@Interpretyourworld thank you, I have recently took a 2 weeks course 80hs to start working for multilingual, I passed all the tests given by the trainers, after finished the two weeks I have received a AI test of 2minutes, the sentences were really really fast and unfortunately I did not pass, I can do your videos almost without taking any notes, I felt very discouraged

23:31 The subtitles should have read 'sit up', instead of 'set up'.

what type of expression in english can translate "no estĂĄ de mĂĄs"?

On the answer sheet I put “It’s not enough”, but a good translation for that phrase can be, “won’t hurt”. For example: Un par de horas más de estudio no está de más. A couple more hours of studying won’t hurt. That sentence in this scenario is not complete I think it is missing a “tomar vitaminas” at the end. In that case we could say “I feel taking vitamins won’t hurt”.

I'm taking my very first mock test ever, I am sooooooooo nervous and flustered. I don't know If I'll be able to withstand 6 hours taking calls like this should I get the job. LOL

First time is always the hardest. The more you do it the easier it gets. Stick to it you will be good. Good luck!

It's very difficult if you are a beginner. Just keep practicing and you will get it.

I wish I just have not done anything else for the past 5 years, I would have to research a lot. If anything, legal seems nice, but don’t get your hopes up.

What was it that you found disrespectful? If I am not mistaken, I based this on a real session.
