    Let’s look how much money the owner has put into the club for transfers.
    Zero.
    Arsenal’s accounts are arguably the most well prepared in the premier league.
    As a football business and finance student at UCFB, using arsenal as a case study feels like cheating as they make it so easy.
    Arsenal’s virtuous circle is based of a self sustaining model is evidence of the owners current and future plans. While Kroenke is well liked in america building a new stadium and investing getting his team to the super bowl, here at arsenal we have yet to see that. I fear unless that changes spurs will overtake Arsenal
    Using Deloitte money league that was released not to long ago Arsenal are only marginally ahead and if spurs stay in the top 4 this season will leap frog Arsenal.
    I see people mention the wealth of the owner but if the owner isn’t willing to put his own money in for transfers Arsenal football club are at a disadvantage, for comparison Mike Ashley is generally disliked at his club however he is investing in transfers.

    • @ebinspurdo4497
      @ebinspurdo4497 Před 5 lety +29

      Worth noting that he is an NFL owner and any NFL club can be run on a self-sustaining budget as well since that league makes well over £200 million/$300 million per club.

    Now the headlines about Ramsey and Ozil make sense. Two things are quite clear now: first, If Wenger had stayed, the 17 million exit package would have been allocated to re-signing Ramsey. Second, Ozil was given that huge contract under the basis that Wenger would stay. Wenger left and the club had no choice but to compensate Wenger at the expense of Ramsey. In conclusion, Arsenal must qualify for the CL and Ozil must be offloaded.

    • @ralfrudi3963
      @ralfrudi3963 Před 5 lety +11

      Which will be really hard. Özil just doesnt have a good reason to move to another club. I mean if he wants more gametime sure then he probably should but if he doesnt care about that too much and enjoys living in London and reciving huge wages every week then I dont see him leaving. He won a couple titles over his career allready plus clubs that guarantee a title are very unlikely to want Özil. Maybe aside from PSG but that would involve moving to another country and learning a new language. Furthermore Özil has cut connections to the national team so there is no reason for him to care either and he never struck me as a player who hungers for trophys anyway.
      So I guess the best hope for Arsenal is that he want to move to turky in the near future to be closer to his family otherwhise he might just stay at Arsenal living his life =/

      Business doesn't work that way, any money provisioned to Arsenal is in line with the financial reality of the club and its existing environment. As long as you do not have the full picture on the financial books et al on the Rams then there is not enough information for this point.

    • @Bolaniullen
      @Bolaniullen Před 5 lety +2

      @@tokunboomonubi4329 he could inject money though like sheik mansur etc. and the club could not record a provit one season in order to invest in the squad, i know it's not what any typical business man would do because why would you lose money right?
      But the way the other teams are spending every season it doesn't take a genius to figure out that the trend is that arsenal are slipping behind and their 'status' and brand is getting worse from missing CL etc, and because the owner isn't willing to throw money in the ocean and gamble like the oil sheiks are.
      and im not delusional i know it would be against ffp to take that 1bn dollars and let arsenal spend it instead, but 40 mn pounds net spend or otherwise is not 'pushing the envelope' as far as it can go in order to try and keep up with the competition in the premier league.

    I found that AFC's Operating profit before exceptional costs and player trading for 2018 is 75.4M GBP. I think FFP states clubs are allowed to record a minimal loss of around 5-15M per year. Add to this any incoming money from outgoing transfers, a bigger sponsorship fee from Adidas (at least 15M+). So AFC's transfer budget can be as big as 100-200M pounds easily. And if they qualify for the UCL that can be almost doubled...

    Just some of the players likely to/definitely leaving wages per year:
    Ozil (18.2m) Ramsey (5.72m) Cech (5.2m) Lichstiener (4.68m) Elneny (2.86m) Chambers (1.3m) Ospina (2.08m) Monreal (4.1m) Mustafi (4.5m)
    Approximate total: 48,640,000/year
    That's almost £50million off of the wage bill potentially
    + any of the players with resale value (Ozil(significant cut price)/Mustafi/Chambers/Elneny/Ospina) Estimated value £68-74m
    + Adidas Kit Deal (60m/season)
    + Emirates sponsorship renewal (40m/season)
    + Visit Rwanda(£10m/season)
    That's almost £180million before TV money, season ticket sales and the potential of getting into the champions league and more unexpected player sales, I highly doubt Arsenal will only have £45million to spend this summer, not to mention transfer fee's are almost never paid in full up front.

      @Gennady Arshad Notowidigdo Compared to other clubs I disagree. Wenger didn't make any transfers that were too risky because he knew mistakes like these could be fatal for arsenal while clubs like City (ex: Robinho or Mahrez) and Chelsea (ex: Torres and Morata) can make these risks with far fewer consequences due to the support of rich and willing to finance owners. No one can defend all of Wenger's signing and even as an Arsenal fan I don't understand how players like Gabriel stayed at the club so long but in the grand scheme of things Wenger has made many less bad signings than any other top tier manager. The players he bought had a purpose and were usually successful. For example, Xhaka has now become essential to arsenal and Bellerin has become a world-class Right back under Emery. Not to mention all the bargains over the years.

      @MattJames37 Před 5 lety

    I don't know what others think, But I think this can be a good sigh as Kroenke will find it less attractive in keep holding on Arsenal. He will be likely to sell if a certain offer come. I have heard that Dangote was interested in Arsenal

      Vanditha Souk - Yes! I think Kroenke would sell if the gravy train momentum continues going in the wrong direction!
      Furthermore, Dangote is still interested in taking control of Arsenal and would be straight in there with an offer at the first possible opportunity! Usmanov also would not pass up the golden opportunity to finally fulfil his dream of owning one of the most revered sporting institutions in history, and make them Number #1 by the same token!
      The 2 of these men owning an equal stake would be the perfect combination to make this happen!

    The player sales figure doesn't look that great wen you look at the amount of money that they had to spend to stay at the same level basically. We aren't really selling high to buy a up-and-coming youngster for a relative bargain anymore, which is needed, but isn't likely to happen with the clueless scouting department/management.

      Kaden Striebel it kinda makes Arsenal desperate sellers to an extent but he's under contract for a while which means he can't leave for free in a year so he'll get fed up and push for a move at the end of the season. His high wages and being over 30 probably limits the number of clubs that might try to sign him but at the end of the day. If emery can find a buyer in serie a where experience and class are prioritized over being under 30 then whatever transfer fee they can negotiate is more than the zero dollars they would have got had wenger not got him to sign an extension

    We need a good winger and a really good centreback. I would love to see Nicolas Pépé at Arsenal but him alone would cost £40-50m+, and after that we still need to sign a CB. Given how shite our defence is and how desperate we are for good defenders, most teams will probably use that in their favor in order to drive their player´s price up. So we would probably need to spend around £45-60m just to get a CB that would actually improve our team. I think that £40m is way to little, even with net spend. I´d say that we need to spend atleast £90m this summer if we want to compete for anything again.

    A LW is important but Reiss Nelson should be coming back from loan so Iwobi can fuck off to the bench
    Also WE HAVE TO SELL Mustafi and maybe Xhaka- with that, we could get a new Creative CM - Denis Suarez is a BIG,BIG no from me.
    Not sure who to put in the mid so I guess we may need to keep Xhaka until next season
