      Thank you! It’s a fabulous watch just a few small caveats. And I forgot to mention the 37mm version which would suit some (and solve some of the problems I had) but is too small for my taste. Thanks again for watching!! Cheers!

    This was a really good review. I've been drooling by the looks of this watch - and I still am - but have gotten a bit more hesitant after watching this. Almost 52,5mm lug to lug sounds excessive. Noone can deny its beauty though!
    Really great amount of info in 13 mins. A subscription for sure!

      Thank you for the kind words! It’s a great watch but you definitely need to try before you buy OR buy from someplace you can return for a refund because it. I have since sold this watch because I didn’t wear it enough and that was partly because of the huge lugs.

    I was between this and the Silver Arrow. I know big difference each other but I wanted to have a heritage Longines watch. Well I tried both and I felt exactly what you explained on your video here. The Legend Diver is a purely made summer watch, I just could not imagine it during wintertime in my small wrists that could not sit under shirts or jackets. But for the summer it is the most perfect watch! So I ordered the Silver Arrow and I will wait if they will release this one in 39-40 mm version. If not then I will save up and get the 42 mm.

      I totally get how you ended up where you did! I likewise want another Longines heritage. That said, I tend to think the Legend is a little overrated and slightly overpriced. If you love it, then absolutely go for it but I’d highly recommend you take a look at the Tuxedo and Tuxedo Chronograph as well. They’re really nicely sized and I think are BEAUTIFUL. The chrono is $3K US but I think I’d pay the extra over the Legend for it. Cheers and glad you love the silver arrow!!

      @@joshswatches I totally agree with you! I noticed while on my wrist that the dial of the Legend Diver is just printed so I could not realize why this price point! Whereas the Silver Arrow has applied indices is catching the light beautifully and looks stunning and timeless! Legend Diver is also a classic but I am just saying! Tuxedo is really nice too, I tried it on my wrist!

    I have a 6and 1/4 in wrist. Is this going to be too big because of the distance lug-to-lug? I have another 42mm diameter watch and it does look fine. Thanks!

    • @joshswatches
      @joshswatches  Před rokem

      You’ll really want to try it on if you can, or buy one from someplace where you can return it for a refund if it doesn’t fit you. Width and height are totally different and this one is tall. They do make a smaller Legend now, though that you might look at too.

    • @joshswatches
      @joshswatches  Před 9 měsíci +1

      Thank you! I personally will take a Longines any day because I much prefer the Legend’s design as it is almost 1:1 from the vintage piece. Maurice LaCroix is fine but Longines has the heritage that I think is part of the draw of owning any luxury item (they’re older than Omega and Rolex) and the backing of the Swatch Groupe.

    • @joshswatches
      @joshswatches  Před 2 lety

      Hello! That’s actually the OEM Longines sailcloth strap that it came on. I have to tell you, though I don’t like it all that much. It’s synthetic so it can stand up to water but as a result it’s very stiff and doesn’t feel premium in any way. Not a fan. When I want to wear it on a black strap I have a Hodinkee leather strap that’s stitched and looks very similar but feels so much better. Ah! My apologies, I responded via CZcams Studio (which doesn’t tell you beyond the thumbnail which video comments are on) and thought this comment was on another one of my videos! Deleted my previous comment. Accuracy here is quite good - this is the older movement, however, the stock ETA 2824. The newer ones use Longines L888 cal, both of which are quite good, though the L888 is even better, some even find it to be within COSC spec of about +5 seconds per day.

    It’s a watch you need to have on your wrist to appreciate well and from then on it’s just a pleasure. I got it for less than a grand$ preowned (lucky I know). I see them still offered between 12 to 14 hundred after market.
    I got it an Uncle Seiko BOR bracelet on its first anniversary and it just elevated the piece even more. A very well engineered and model-specific accessory. Check it out.

    • @joshswatches
      @joshswatches  Před 2 lety

      Yeah it’s hard because that leather really pops on camera. I’ll also say they’re all handmade and cut from different non treated grains, I have two of the “same” strap (one in 20 and this one in 22) and they’re so different. Same general color tone but grain and weathering is very different between the two. In both cases, though, the photo on Hodinkee’s site is a little desaturated IMO.

      @glowartco Před 2 lety

      @@joshswatches Appreciate that! I also have a 6.75" wrist, and know they came out with the same design of the LLD in 36mm. Would you get that smaller size in retrospect?

    • @joshswatches
      @joshswatches  Před 2 lety +1

      @@glowartco I don’t think I would personally, I like the width of the 42, it’s just the length that’s a bummer but I don’t think I’d want to downsize all the way to 36. If it matters to you, the OG 7042 Legend diver was around this size even back in the day so the 42 is closer to that original.

    The best value for money super compressor diver is the Orient Weekly Auto King Diver Revival. An excellent re-release of a 1965 version that, if it were a Swiss brand, would cost over a thousand dollars. I am extremely satisfied with this Orient JDM model with accuracy of +- 6 seconds per day. Another interesting piece of information is that the Orient automatic movement is a reinterpretation of the robust Seiko caliber 46 series movement of the 60s (Seiko Suwa).
