- Ground your mind and body with this 30-minute Chair Yoga For Injury Class // Caroline Jordan // Perfect for all levels and abilities, this routine is a great way to relax from head to toe without the stress of weight-bearing. For more info: www.carolinejordanfitness.com/
This Chair Yoga for Injury class can help you stay active when recovering from an injury or when sneaking in a few stretches at the office. Press play and give your body a feel-good Chair Yoga flow that will lengthen your muscles and calm your mind in minutes.
How is your body feeling today? Are you feeling stiff, tight, or tense? How is your mindset? Tired, stressed, or depressed? I've got just the thing to help you feel better fast - and you don't even have to get up from your seat.
If you are healing from an injury or dealing with a physical challenge that keeps you from things you love... I GET IT. I've been there. And some of the things I loved I've lost for good (looking at you running). But instead of feeling sad, I shift my thinking. I haven't LOST running or heated power vinyasa flow yoga classes... I've just traded them in for other things. Swimming, pilates, strength training, and creating youtube videos for my friends are now my JAM. Instead of sitting around being sad about the things I've lost, instead, I celebrate the things I've GAINED. My foot injury brought chair cardio, floor workouts, and my Hurt Foot Fitness Coaching Program (hi members, you guys ROCK!) into this world. And those things have been such blessings in my life. So I'm grateful for the challenge of change and what I've discovered because of it. If you are going through similar life changes, I encourage you to find the same. When you FLOW with life's changes it's such a happier way to live. And you know what? Life will change again! You'll find more activities you love and come across more surprises that will add color to your world. You never know what life has in store for you... and when you make the best of what you've got now, you end up finding more.
So I hope this Chair Yoga For Injury class reminds you of your strength and your ability to FLOW with life. I loved filming it for you and I hope you can feel that love coming through each Warrior 2. I can't wait to hear what you think! Grab a seat, put the phone on do not disturb, and press the video below to get moving now.
Before starting any new physical activity, you should consult your healthcare provider. These poses are suitable for most people, including seniors, those living with chronic pain and those who use a wheelchair. But ALWAYS check with your doctor before starting this or any exercise routine. Listen to your body and move mindfully.

You have changed everything. Every day now Iâm doing one or two videos. I canât convey the difference youâre making. Giving me the opportunity to feel strong. Thank you.

Thank you so much Caroline much needed to see that I could still feel benefits from Chair Yoga movement. Thank you for your energy and positive attitude:)
Wonderful!
I stopped doing regular yoga years ago after having knee replacement. This is so close to how I felt after a regular yoga practice! Thank you.
Great job!
Had foot surgery on Friday. Itâs only Tuesday and I managed this routine, making some modifications to ensure not to disrupt my healing foot. Thanks for this! The reminders to tighten muscles was particularly helpful. Was feeling very restless and needed something!
Thank you! Did this today because I rolled my ankle. Made me weep towards the end. Great for the body, great for the mind. :)
You're so welcome! Be updated! follow me on instagram ;) instagram.com/carolinejordanfitness/
Thank you so much. I'm one month post op foot surgery and have been missing my yoga. Googled chair yoga foot injury and your videos came up. I'm so grateful! This felt awesome!
Thank you so so much. I need to stay off of my knee. This was perfect.
Glad it helped!
I'm a yoga teacher who developed "drop foot" on BOTH feet and can no longer do my standing poses without falling. I've been considering chair yoga but everything I see is for seniors. I'm not a senior, I'm only 56 and besides my feet I'm very fit and healthy. I'm so glad I found your channel.
Thanks for this routine! I was able to do all the poses even with a flare up of knee arthritis, and I feel much better now.
Great job!
Thank you- wonderful đż
This was INCREDIBLE! Recovering from a broken foot and feeling just slow and awful. So glad I found your chair videos. Healing the broken spirit in addition to the broken foot.
Thank you! I've fractured my foot and was quite bummed that I'm going to miss doing yoga. This video is great and I'm looking forward to doing it everyday. One request - can you pls make a longer video? Thanks!
Thanks. Really useful as have a foot injury. Good to still feel I am exercising within present capabilities.
Thank you so much for your positivity! It's only because of your videos that I was able to feel normal and my old self inspite of my injury! More personal power to you! You're absolutely amazing!
I did this today for the first time recovering from an ankle injury. I really felt so much better and comfortable in my body. Thank you!
I am doing this with a sprained ankle and chronic pain inflammation in my back/ trapz/knees- I am a fitness trainer and my personal life is all about fitness of mind/body- I will share to Ashford Fitness Society on fb- ty so much
Thank you Caroline. You have been everything Iâve needed these past few weeks. I fractured a sesamoid bone in my foot and I have done your chair workouts every single day. I love the yoga, itâd be sweet if you did more chair yoga or yoga for foot injuries! Thank you for being the exact light I needed in my life right now. Keep shining on, beautiful soul!
Very good energy love the class đđŸđ

Grateful for this opportunity and class. Bad knee injury and excess weight make this a challenge, but doable with modifications. I appreciate your positive energy!
Awesome. Thank you for this

I love doing this yoga flow before bed. It helps release trapped gas and calms me so I can sleep.
You're Wonderful ma'am. Your exercise program is wonderful, I feel alive everyday even with my hurt ankle
That is so great! You feel better!!
I do, too.
This is such a lovely yoga class. It really helps with my arthritis and especially my hip flexors because I do a lot of seated workouts. Thanks Caroline
Fantastic, thank you
Glad you liked it!
Thank you for this video! I sprained my ankle badly last year & while it's recovered it still hurts to do certain yoga poses. This made me feel just like i would doing regular yoga!
You can do it!
Love this routine. Thank you â„ïž
Thanks Caroline, my husband and I usually do your videos together. This routine really stretched me out!
Great seated chair pose! I felt that one! And no stress/weight on broken foot :)
She said "exalted and shavasanah". :) This was good but I began to giggle at the end. I love your chair yoga!
Thank you đ
This is my favorite chair yoga routine you do. Hadn't done it in a few weeks. Awesome.
Thank you - I just had ankle reconstruction surgery yesterday. This was a beautiful way to start my morning, stretch out my body, and breathe.
You fantastic! Thank you
Love the yoga flow. Thanks so much.
I love this, thank you! I am 10 weeks post op from ankle surgery. It felt so good to do yoga. Can't wait to try seated cardio tomorrow.

First time using this video. I am 57 and have lumbar spinal stenosis and the stretches and poses made my body wake up!
Love the energy and the contents, thank youđđŸđ
Even did it in the boot. Very nice class. Thank you!
Thank you!! I love your chair yoga!! My husband has done it with me a few times too. :) I really appreciate giving the option of crossing the ankles as an option instead of figure 4. This video will also be in my rotation too. Have a blessed day.
Thank you this was the best chair yoga I found. Hopefully soon I can get back to my normal yoga.
Thank you. A great yoga experience during my injury when I didnât think I could practice!!
Great practice! More chair yoga... I have a metatarsal stress fracture and I need to continue yoga!!! Thanks!
Followed this awesome yoga routine after doing your sit-down chair cardio. Feels completely relaxed and peaceful at the end. Thank you!đ
I'm 60 Doing this movement as medicine yoga routine as part of the June 2021 CJF exercise calendar. Love it
Hi Caroline! Itâs my first time doing yoga and I love it! I feel so relaxed, peaceful, and positive that I just donât want to stop it. Thanks so much
my mother and i love your positive energy!!! what a great way to end the day. thank you!
You are so kind
Caroline, thank you so much for developing this class. I just had a total knee reconstructive surgery 2 weeks ago, and have been going batty on the couch while having to keep my leg elevated. Iâve gotten so stiff from laying around, and Iâve been missing my yoga and cycling classes like crazy! Determined not to let the stiffness and recovery blues set in, I went in search of some form of exercise I could do! This was a great class to help me achieve a great stretch, some muscle re-use and control, and some mental and emotional re-centering! Thank you for taking the time to make a class for those of us who are not yet able to jump back into our normal routine!
Thank you so much for compiling this workout Caroline. I feel so much better after completing this session. I am 2 a half weeks in to recovery of a major foot operation. I am missing my yoga practice and activity levels so much. Yesterday I did one of your cardio chair work outs which was really great too. I am definitely going to explore more of your recovery workouts. I can't thank you enough for these videos. Nameste!
Thank you so much for these videos! I have been in an ankle brace for 3 weeks due to an injury and cannot do any of my regular workouts. It feels great to be doing something to keep active!!
đđ i wish i could download this video some poses i canât do bc over weight but this is amazing đ„°đ thank you dear
Caroline you are absolutely AMAZING!! I can't thank you enough for all your videos, guidance, knowledge and positivity. Just SO much gratitude for all you do to help others. đ
Wow, thank you!
Thank you so much for this! My knee bothers me so this is great! An amazing session without the pain. The pigeon pose đ! It's by far my favorite pose and was still effective using the chair. So glad I found your channel!
@@CarolineJordan I saw! I'll be doing one each day. I look forward to your next video đ!
Love your work outs. Broke my right ankle, having some difficulty doing these. I have Parkinson's disease, and the workouts feel great. Thank u
Thank a lot. It helps me physically and mentally as I just injured my right foot. I would follow your video during this recovery moment
Excellent work............:)
Ms. Jordan, I broke both my ankles 14 months ago. I have lost a lot of upper and lower body strength. I use to work on my feet all day, now I can't walk across the room without a cane and back pain. Please make a video to address this. Thank you! Love the videos.
I'm recovering from two foot surgeries and have been pretty sore after going to work. This yoga workout gets my blood flowing and feels so great after sitting a lot. Thank you for knowing what I needed!
I have been trying to get into yoga for a while, but I always had problems because I have multiple disabilities and major problems with balance. I did a little digging on here and found your video and I'm looking into chair yoga classes near me now. Thank you so much!
I've been missing my yoga practice since I broke my leg. Thank you for this. Excellent practice, made me sweat. I was not able to do warrior 1 and 2 because I'm in a long boot and can't really straighten my leg.
I broke my upper arm 3 weeks ago and my body was needing yoga since I did it everyday before injury. This rely good even though I canât use my left arm yet. Thanks again
Thank you so much for this video- with multiple stress foot fractures this helps. Question- any suggestions on doing the Warrior poses without putting pressure on the bad foot? 2/7/2023
hmmm thats a tough one - maybe try substituting a different posture? have you checked out www.hurtfootfitness.com ?

Awesome non weight bearing chair yoga class! I love that you can talk through the poses without stopping the poses....many instructors have to stop moving when they talk and waste so much time. This was fabulous! I had to modify the warrior poses with major injuries to both feet. Are there any lying exercises that can be done that do not engage the posterior tibial and peroneal tendon? I have broken bones in both feet and a strained peroneal tendon in one foot and numerous tendon and ligament injuries in the other foot from a fall.
Hi Linda, I would suggest the videos and workouts involved in this Hurt Foot Fitness Coaching Program carolinejordanfitness.com/hurt-foot-coaching-program/ . Ive got it all lined out for you in an easy to follow way so that you stay fit and positive while you heal. Healing takes time - its a marathon! But youll get there :)
@@CarolineJordan Are you a Doctor of Physical Therapy? I looked at some of your other videos labeled for hurt foot. I could never do those with both feet injured. I canât even get down on the floor ...yet your routines are on the floor.
@@lindapitts7700 I am a certified health and fitness coach with specialty certifications in injury and orthopedic exercise. My videos may not be appropriate for your unique needs. Like I said in the beginning of the video always check with your individual doctor or PT for personalized exercise recommendations
@@lindapitts7700 Maybe talk to my client and triple amputee Linda Olson to see if she has recommendations for videos or CZcams channels for you. She does both my chair and floor workouts. You can see some of what we do together here czcams.com/video/mgbDlhEsV5k/video.html
@@CarolineJordan Hi Linda. I use all of Caroline's seated or chair cardio work-out videos. My legs are amputated above the knee on both sides. Most of the time I do these exercises without my prostheses on, but sometimes with my artificial legs on. Almost all of them can be done without using your lower extremities. Some of the stretches she does involve shifting in the chair...if that is too hard or not possible to do, I suggest you do them like a person paralyzed from the waist down would do. Just sit still and work your core from your hips or waist up.
Hi! I did this yoga video for the first time. It's also my first time doing any yoga. Will doing this yoga routine help me to lose weight? I'm asking because I added it to my daily workout.
Great job!
Even after stretching. Lately my shoulders have been super tight? Is there something else I can do?
New to yoga. Over 60 with pain everywhere đđđ
Can you do yoga for osteopenia? Thanks
