Why does Rob underestimate the Troupe so much? They are very strong and there is a reason they are so feared
Ikr they are so skilled. Even tho their nen aura capacity is nowhere near compared to the ants, phantom troupe's skill level and nen proficiency is much higher level than the ants.
I mean to be fair most anime evil villian squads usually no matter how hyped they become usually everyone is trash exept for maybe the boss.
Its during this point in the anime that reactors wank Gon, Killua, and Kurapika. And ironically crap on Leorio (in the Manga he's stronger than Kurapika and Gon before nen, and in the current Manga arc he's as strong as Kurapika). Eventually, they understand that they aren't close to the top dogs yet. Though i've seen one reactor who thought Gon and Killua were Royal Guard level. Delusional as all hell.

The phantom troupe is by far my favorite group of villains, there strong asf and they’re actually friends. Next time we see em after this arc they run into so “bad ppl” and after they’re fight, you can see how they get along

@@f.b.iagent8775 im not gonna spoil anything but the Akatsuki and troupe are very different. the Akatsuki is a group all trying to cooperate towards one goal but each of them have their own thing going on. they're not really friends just more or so teammates that have to work in pairs of two. there's only a few members that are actually friends. Since each member is powerful in their own right they kinda see each other more as rivals than actual friends while the troupe is more of a brotherhood in which they take care of each other. i like the troupe more if youre looking at it in a fun but powerful group of brothers and sisters kinda way but if youre looking at it in a powerful terrorist group set out to make a goal come true kinda way then the Akatsuki are way more dope.
Gon and Killua's future feats are way more impressive than Kurapika killing a Troupe member

Hell no. Kurta/troupe's incident may be strongly related with those dark actions that Pariston did underneath the Hunters association. Plus all the plot in the whale. Even Kurta may have its origen in the DC. There's deep shit around Kurapika. And you know what? Togashi-sensei gonna kick our asses with an extremely, massive plot twist that will change the entire story

Hunters aren't heroes, they are selfish. Togashi has successfully been writing this series in shades of grey instead of black and white. Most of the characters have done both good and bad deeds. Even the main characters have been "evil" by certain view points. It just depends on whose side people are on...they all have their own thoughts, feelings, and goals.
I enjoyed the Troupe right from the start. Seeing their interesting character designs and interactions; how they weren’t just typical villains that you were supposed to hate. They were obviously human with thoughts, feelings, and goals. They had suffered a hard life, grew strong, and came together with loyalty/family unit. The original nine members all came from Meteor City and had obviously grew up together.
The Troupe is their own faction and much like the hunters they seek their own gain. Since the people of Meteor City are treated like scum, they are hardened to the rest of society and wish to do as they please. Since social status, money, and fame doesn’t interest them; I’m quite sure most of there profits return to Meteor City to help improve the lives of the rest of the outcast. Just as they also return to defend Meteor City if it is in danger, and why the Mafia bounties on their heads get rescinded. (The Mafia needs Meteor City’s support, so hunting the Troupe is out of the question.) The Phantom Troupe are Heroes to Meteor City.
The Kurta clan were also outcasts, viewing the outside world as evil and crazy, hiding away in their secluded village. As Meteor City is open to the idea of taking from everyone (aka viewing all as equal opportunities) of course the Troupe would have no problem with eliminating the village for their own gain. People want to consider the Troupe pure evil for such an act, yet is it not the world that was evil? The fact that the Kurta eyes were viewed as such an expensive treasure, that nobody cared about the deaths and happily bought up all the eyes as common trophies. How the eyes continued to circle the world going for outrageous bids. It is simply the fact that the Kurta secluded themselves that no one cared for the outcome. And even more so, how do we know that the Kurta clan is innocent? The Kurta viewed the whole world as enemies before encountering the Phantom Troupe, and Uvogin said the Kurta were powerful. Kurapika was a young child when his people where wiped out. Kurapika didn’t know his clans history, even he thought going through all those trials to leave was odd. In short, there isn’t enough information on the Kurta to view them as good or bad.
If anything Kurapika is cursed for not dying with the rest of his clan. Doomed to kill in cold blood; seeking the revenge that will ultimately lead to his death. Kurapika joins the Mafia, also considered an evil organization, with the goal of getting close to those who collect eyes so he can slaughter them and reclaim the eyes themselves. (At least that is what he believed back when he first joined in the mansion, before he started to care for friends.) He wishes to chain the buyers and troupe to hell, yet doesn’t realize he would be trapped with all of them in hell when he dies as well. And as the Kurta view the world as evil, Kurapika was ready to kill Melody in cold blood when they first talked together.
Kurapika could have became a hunter, got a respectable job in one of the categories (to earn enough money to buy most of the eyes), pay his respects to his people, and settle down to revive his clan and keep themselves secret. Then when he would have died at an older age, he would at least get to see his clan again. (Cause he isn’t going to his clan anymore…that’s for sure.)
And let’s not forget Gon’s fall from grace. How Gon is perfectly happy to slaughter innocents for his own vengeance. (Did you forget how he kept trying to kill Komugi?) When Gon gets dark and becomes a Monster. Just like the Troupe, Gon only cares about his own faction in the end. He was never a hero, meets and befriends other bad people too, doesn’t ridicule them because they are useful and not enemies to his friends. In episode 48, that guy says Gon doesn’t see good and evil. (Hell his best friend is an ex assassin, you think Killua didn’t kill innocents? LOL) Nobunaga was right; Gon is a perfect replacement for Uvo. Gon is just a hypocrite when chewing out Nobunaga and Chrollo.
Overall, I don’t see the Phantom Troupe as “evil villains”, they are just their own faction in a cruel world. They were raised in an abandoned ungoverned territory that the rest of the world’s societies won’t even acknowledge its citizens as living people. So of course they won’t follow the social norms and only care about their own. They roam the world aimlessly, and all the wealth they accumulate goes back to their people.
That part when they walked into the Phantom Troupe’s lair and the music started playing was hype!! One of my favorite moments. ⭐️-_-💧
You guys have a long way to go finishing this I just can’t wait till you guys get past this arc because things get better 😉

And last episode, you cut it out, but that dude was saying that he realized that Gon doesn’t really care about right and wrong, but what interests him, and that makes him dangerous.
This is all setting up something very important, and you all need to pay attention to how Gon behaves. Because he’s already shown a lot of hypocrisy in his ideals. He didn’t care at all when people died at the Hunter exam, when the test was clearly designed to kill people, but now he cares that the Troupe kill people.
You need to pay attention to Gon. He is not as good a person as you might think at a glance. Even Killua has this false impression of him.

Thats not true at all. His only two nen abilities that are strictly for the troupe are "chain jail" and "judgement chain. His nen increase from emporers time can be used on anyone. And that increase alone was enough for him to speed blitz and tank an attack from uvo, a master enhancer.
