It has nothing to do with Kurapika being a Specialist. It's the Kurta Clan's eyes that boost his Nen and his own special power Emperor Time that makes Kurapika broken. It essentially gives him the ability to be both a Specialist and a Conjurer and pretty much every Nen Category has a mastery of 100%. Though the output POWER of said abilities are still not 100%...........besides Conjurer and Specialist(only when his eyes are red)

Sevroulette XD A couple of thing, the first being that Leorio clearly demonstrated both of those traits in the Exam, despite being the most Normal (tm) of the group. Secondly, while the manga gives more examples especially in later arcs, what a hunter "hunts" is INCREDIBLY varied, and it's not something that you can necessarily Shonen Fight (tm) against. The use of Nen is really the only thing one really needs to qualify as a hunter.... and that doesn't always translate into being "strong".

No, filler is when an episode, or series of episodes, exist solely to waste time to catch up with the manga. Recap episodes exist to remind the viewer of everything that’s happened so far.
This fight is where Hunter x Hunter really starts to show its true colors. It’s only uphill from here. Well, I guess that depends on how you view future events.

it's one of the reason why the nen system is so badass. it balances power with conditions and vows so that it doesn't suffer from bad power creep like DBZ.
I will not name what the tradeoff is for spoiler reasons (not explained in the anime and probably never will hiatusxhiatus), but the tradeoff for using emperor time is immense.

"Rage like Goku"-Rob. No it's not even in the slightest bit like Goku. There is a VERY distinct difference between Kurapikas rage and Goku's. Goku's power more or less comes from how angry he is except y'know ultra instinct. Kurapika doesn't get stronger the angrier he gets. The anger is more a means to an end being his restriction on his Chain Jail but his Chain Jail is that strong whether or not he's angry. (Slight spoiler for the end of the arc) His Scarlet Eyes don't even have anything to do with his anger anymore since he can control whether or not he uses them now.
My point is that you shouldn't be comparing the two shows when they have wildly different reasons and rules to the power systems. Nen is much more complicated than just "Get angry get strong" like in DB.

Not every episode is straight fight and episode 48 is a good episode and there a is a moment in the episode where there was major foreshadowing for gons character
hopefully if possible u guys switch over to the subtitles on crunchyroll ( where u can watch it at 1080p for free), the subs over there are better done and there are some scenes where what's written is much better/cooler than the one u guys currently use. only making this comment cause i read someone else's comment saying the same thing and i just wanted to say it again. man i loved this show when i binged it years ago

48 is such a weird episode to go on to right after 47, but it’s kind of good lighthearted palate cleanser after the intensity of 47.
Don't know man. I think the endind of 47 kinda of sets it up. The fight is ove, everything is silent, and Kurapika is just there, burying Uvo, and the hype with him.

It isnt explained in the anime but Kurapika loses an hour of his live for every second he uses emperor time or something
In this ep it looks like Kurapika is OP but just a small spoiler from the manga: Theres a BIG counter-effect for Kurapika when he use Emperor's Time. Everything in HxH is balanced
And also that Kurapika's nen was overall decent, nothing special. His Hatsu is strong, but he's just average with a larger arsenal when fighting non-Troupe members.
This show really requires you to concentrate and look closely on the dialouges and the scenes because they really foreshadow on what's about to happen in the future.

Watching this fight again though,I picked up things I didn't notice before like Uvo not really taking major damage until the Zetsu chains were used on him Or when Kurapika said he had full control over the other categories, I thought it was Op but I think the percentages still apply to the categories, I don't think is a 100% control on all,at least thats what I got
I think he has 100% control, but overall Kurapika has less power. Aside from his chains he's also got to learn techniques to utilize other categories. It puts him in a similar position to Castro where his Hatsu is good but his miscellaneous abilities suffer.

Episode 48 is one of my favourite episodes mostly due to the foreshadowing. But the discussion of gons nature was really interesting to me. Gons is open and curious. This is the main reason why he became friends with killua eventhough killua told him he was an assassin, gon didn't react negatively. Episodes like this also highlight what a hunter can be. You'll appreciate it more later.

This arc is when HxH became my favorite anime.
I don't care what everyone else say, for me Uvo is the True MVP in this episode, he died in order to not give any information of his comrades, just that deserve +100 Respect.
Also you guys cut almost all episode 48, i know that is not as intense as the previous one but it is still important, besides the fact that this episode shows the audience the greatness of this series, that not all is about fighting (that is also why Leorio don't need to learn Nen, he wants to be a Doctor).

I'm honestly only watching to see their reactions when they realize just how powerful the Phantom Troupe is. Rob is gonna be annoying cause at this point he thinks Kurapika is invincible. And since it seems like this group doesn't pay attention to details...I hope at least one will realize that is wrong. And possibly become a PT fan.
Kurapika only seems powerful because of the condition. If he fought anyone else at the Phantom Troupe's level he would get bodied. And he is only good fighting 1v1 against Phantom Troupe. So multiple members would also body Kurapika. Not to mention what Emperor Time does to Kurapika...can't say spoilers.

There are no filler episodes of HxH all episodes have some sort of significance the greater story or to some future events, the only episodes I’d skip are the two recap episodes.
