    Thank you so much for showing us the details step by step. I did sprout some years ago but he said to change the water daily and didn't say have to drain the water, so I let them soaked in the fresh water daily and all rot on the 3rd day. I will sprout it when I buy the soy beans. Thank you so much !

      +Christy Lim Any two piece colander will work. You can find them at any Asian supermarket. If one is not available, you can find them at target. Get one with smaller holes. With smaller holes, there is no need for paper towel because the beans will not fall through.

    Hi Kheng
    What type of peas or beans do they use to sprout the Chinese Dou Miao(pea sprouts)? It has to be the ones with large stems and big leaves, just like the ones from china used in restaurants.

    • @anonymous-zn5em
      @anonymous-zn5em Před 7 lety +1

      The pea shoots used in Chinese cooking are not actual seed sprouts, they are the young growing tips of pea vines that are harvested especially to cook with, but I'm sure sprouted peas could be used the same way, only they won't have the big leaves and pretty tendrils. Hope that helps.

    You use hydroponic nutrients on your chillies and in one video you said you give them hydroponic nutrients every two days even though most hydroponic nutrients say to give hydroponic nutrients every 1-week or 2-week, Is there any reason for that?

    The regular soybeans works just as well, and they taste great and are just slightly larger than the sprouting soy beans which are a little smaller in diameter and develop to just slightly larger than mung bean sprouts. The regular soybeans has a nice chunky crunch kinda like boiled adamame beans but with a sprouted tail.

      +Ben warnick It's pretty difficult to over soaked unless you leave them submerged for a few days. Are you seeds labeled "for sprouting"? If not, those beans may have been heat treated and will not grow. Dead seeds will result in a bad smell.

      They can be eaten raw in a cold salad dish or in cooked meals also. In a cooked dish they should be put in just before the dish is served to retain the fresh crispness of the sprouts.
