  • Soybeans are one of the most versatile foods on the planet. They’re rich in protein, carbohydrates, and other natural minerals. Dried soybeans are used for many products. Some examples are soy sauce, soy milk, soybean oil, and tofu. Fresh soybeans, called edamame in Japan, are eaten as a vegetable. You can also grow soybean sprouts and use them as a vegetable. Growing the sprouts at home on a small scale is really simple, and the process takes only four days.

Oh! I started watching your soy bean milk first This is interesting as well. I love any bean sprout. I have not tried the soy bean sprout yet except that I always eat this in Korean restaurants. But we also have our Beansprout version in the Philippines which I am always doing this normally. Except that it doesn’t last until four days. Thanks for your demonstration. You are awesome.

This is very interesting. Other guides I have followed on sprouting used very different techniques. Your methods seem a lot smarter. It seems like such an obvious idea to thoroughly clean the beans first, but I never thought of it. I guess that this should be done with growing many things from commercial sources.

Hello, very interesting video! Just a technical question: When you place the white part (sort of sieve) containing the seeds in the green box, I assume that the water level arrives just below this white grid? Or is it slightly submerged in water? Finally, what is the distance between the water level and this white grid, if any? Thank you!

The burlap retains water and helps keeping the beans moist throughout and produces healthier sprouts. You can skip it as long as your beans stay hydrated.
