- Troubleshooting tips when your air conditioning A/C system is not working. Make sure you follow this first when your compressor is not spinning, and DON'T add R134a until you do THIS for your ac system.

This worked for me. It started intermittently, then completely stopped blowing cold air. I replaced the relay on my wife's 2007 Honda Odyssey Touring and now it's blowing cold air! Thanks for the video! Happed to go to the junk yard for a different car and got the relay for very little.

Oh my god!!! I just went to a mechanic and he told me that if my compressor was bad, it was going to run me $1,800 dollars because I would have to change out the whole system. I bought (3) relays for $8 each and I swapped them all out. It’s blowing cold air again!

This process worked for my 2009 EX-L, for $8.00 part. After swapping them as described in the video and the A/C then cooling, I just replaced the one faulty relay. Thanks
This is the first video I found that actually made any sense. Thank you for taking the time to explain. I am going to try this and see what happens. I haven't even tried to try anything yet so I hope these steps will help.
Loveisvictory Good luck and I think the big thing was doing all these steps BEFORE you add refrigerant because you can overcharge the system. Post a comment once you try this and if it helped 😊

Just fixed my 2007 Odyssey. Thought it may be the compressor, at first, but the RPM trick showed me it was working. Flipping the fuses worked! Best $8 spent in a long time!

This video just saved me. I had hooked up the AC recharge stuff and it was showing red on the pressure gauge. Couldn't figure it out, clutch wasn't engaging. It was this relay. Saved my hide. Thank you!

Joe Magrino The problem is that typically no shop, especially a dealer, is going to help you start simple and save like this. Glad it helped!
@@fightdrivewinteam5447 Just wanted to let you know that a wise mechanic told me that anyone he knew that had to change a relay switch, eventually had to replace the compressor. So here I am almost 6 months later and the compressor clutch is rattling and going on/off way too much. I was going to try the clutch replacement next, but i fear it's the compressor. The mechanic said the compressor is his most common Odyssey repair. We'll see.

Thanks brother. I have the same issue, i switched the a.c. relay and it works. Also, the fans for the radiator still works the same everytime the a.c. clutch kick in.

Wow!!! That's killer mileage on your ODY! Have you had any major issues with engine or trans?
@@fightdrivewinteam5447 Nothing unexpected. I replaced the timing belt twice and have also replaced the water pump, pulleys, tensioner, serpentine belt, etc. While I had things apart, I replaced the crankshaft seal, which was leaking a little bit. I also adjusted the valves once about 120K miles ago (engine was "ticking"). I did it all via watching videos and turning wrenches myself. CZcams is awesome as are many of the posters like you!

So glad you got cold A/C flowing again!
Also, always put the gauge on the low-pressure line before considering adding 'freon', blue cap with L on it. Or the only fitting a refrigerant hose will fit onto. That way never make a mistake of shoving in r134a. Always check your own cabin air filter as well; take the glove box out via screwdriver on the fittings, 10 dollar filter, 4 minute job. Have any issues there are a billion videos on it, and voila).
