    I enjoy your videos. Your very thorough. I have one criticism...you should have used your test light at the fuse boxes for the A/C instead of piercing the line breaking the integrity of the wire. Your test light would have given you the same result if you would have probed the A/C Relay at the fuse boxes. Otherwise, great video ok.

    Absolutely awesome video! Got me to LOOK in the right direction! Well what happened to me was I had power in the wire you tested(same spot) to my BRAND NEW COMPRESSOR well it ended up being the plug was NOT pushed totally together (probably my big hands in a small area) Thank god because I thought I just wasted $220! The reason I changed the compressor was I had great super cold air then I smelled a burning plastic smell and shortly there after no cold air!!! This all After I just changed a leaking hose and condenser since the bolts broke off in it since I had to change the hose! Well $400! In parts later hope I have no more issues!

    My problem was also the relay (diagnosed after a parts guy said I needed a new compressor after checking nothing). However, about 9 mths later, it went from working great one day to back to blowing hot air. I tried replacing the relay again. Nothing. Swapped with the fan relay, and still nothing. The clutch is not engaging. Being a female, I know a mechanic will rip me off so before heading down that road, is there anything else I might be able to self-diagnose? This video was awesome. Perhaps another video of what to do next if the clutch still does not engage. Also is there any way to check a relay on a machine or something to see if it is good? Thank you again! 😊

    • @KITS_Auto_and_Truck_Repair
      @KITS_Auto_and_Truck_Repair  Před 2 lety

      Rena Scott I'm glad to hear that the video was helpful... since you already swapped the compressor relay with a good one. the next thing to check should be refrigerant in the system. you can take it to your local parts store and have they check it to see if there is refrigerant in the system, if there is! the following thing to check would be power and ground at the ac compressor, I checked it in the video, you can get a test light and follow the steps in the video... Good Luck!

    I have the same problem with mine the ac clutch doesnt engage. I replaced the fuse and it still doesnt work, could it be possible that the van doesnt have refrigerant i bought it used and the ac wasnt working im not sure if it has any because i thought the ac clutch is suppose to work even without refrigerant. Im afraid to put in more refrigerant i dont have the guages u have in the video and im afraid that the system might have a leak without me knowing.

      dan yes, if the AC system is completely empty the Compressor clutch won't engage!!
      you can rent the gauges that I used in the video at your local parts store to check for refrigerant in the system... or you may have a bad compressor but before you condemn the compressor use a test light to see if you're getting power at the ac compressor... Good Luck!!!

    Ok I have a similar issue, 2010 odyssey was blowing cold but intermittently, if we were driving it would be ice cold, then if idle it would get almost warm. Did this for a week or so then completely went to only warm air. The clutch was not engaging, I tapped on it and it engages now. Refrigerant is showing way over charged, like maxed out on one of those $50 cans gauge. Tested relays, all are good, still will not blow hot air.
    Any advice is appreciated, I try to do all my car repairs for me and the wife since shops are so expensive, but with 90 degree days idk how much longer I can hold off, her and the kiddos get pretty toasty otw home from daycare lol.

But funny thing is all rear passenger vents work and blow air. I've tried the AC cans from auto zone and the pressure was in the red. And all fuses are intact and relay does click. So it's something else. Would you happen to know?
