I was just thinking that same thing. This is what normal is for the majority of us… looking at my living room now it looks a hot mess but my kids are happy and playing. Stuff will get done eventually but life doesn’t sit still
When my kids were younger they each had a basket in their rooms for dirty clothes. I would take each basket and wash them individually that way I could put their clean clothes back in it and take to their room to put away. It made life so much easier not having to sort through. I also hung everything besides pjs and shorts. Much faster to put away then folding so many items. Have a Happy Thanksgiving!
Yes! I have thought about doing that, since it would make sense to do that! .. first to get them all individual laundry baskets haha

@@Borderlinegoldenretriever it’s not like they are covered in mud just they were warn and now need to be washed I do the same with my daughter I throw her stuff in the wash then when it’s time to sort I ask for her basket and I just throw her things in there and she sorts it!
Yes. Always did that too. Not mixing kids clothes saves so much time.
My daughter does that. Everyone has an individual basket and washed by basket. Easier for her. No separating and easier to put away. Her boys are still to young to put their own away but it’s coming. 😂

When my kiddos were young we used to have one night a week that we called “smorgasbord “ and they could choose what they wanted that was left over and then we would heat he each person‘s plate up separately.

Yup we also had a leftovers night growing up, and I LOVED it!!!!
My mom would do that when we were growing up and she would clean out the freezer she would take a huge pan out and set the oven and whatever there was in the freezer that only had alittle of this or alittle of that got thrown on the tray and that was dinner it was awesome!!!

Some houses we lost were truly heartbreaking and I cried over a few. 'will we ever move' or 'we don't deserve a bigger house' were thoughts that constantly ran through my mind. I still can't believe we found this house and were able to get it. It is truly wild and I honestly mean it when I say I can't believe we live here.

What I love is that her husband jumps in & helps out! Mine had to travel all the time, so I figured out so many systems! I had a dry erase board in the kitchen that saved me, esp during summers!

The "not cool nail"...the shower curtain hook dangling from her sleeve, the obsession with getting good deals, remembering what her 5th grade friend smelled like, and loving it! Each kid in my house has a laundry basket in their room, so when I do a load it’s by kid. Socks for the older and myself go into a bucket(long struggle with mates) but sorting this way made life so much easier.
Hi Kim! I LOVE Once Upon a Child, even in NY the prices can’t be beat. I have a suggestion for the “mask” situation. Get a couple of those bra/delicates mesh bags to throw your masks in. Keep one in the car too. Dollar Tree even has them. They are perfect for rounding up the masks and then all you have to do to wash is throw the whole bag in the wash. They also will not get caught in every nook and cranny of the laundry pile. Hope that tip can help.
I should do that... That's a great idea! I'll see if I can be organized enough for that. lol
This is what I do. Because I also have to remember to hang dry them so the ear elastics don't get all messed up.
@@thewadsquad Thx for commenting Kim! You have your life together more than you know. Your kids being dressed, fed and educated is a LOT more than many parents can do. And really, we are all just doing the best we can, with the time we have without being robotic. We still have to enjoy life!

That shower curtain fake fall performance was just what my Tuesday needed!
I have 3 kids and keep their laundry baskets in their rooms. Wash each kids clothes once a week on different days. That way I don’t have to sort who’s is who’s. It really helps me.

Yep, that's what I do too! It really, really does save so much time...and brain space! My kids have cheap white plastic baskets...maybe I'll try to find cuter ones for them now that we also have our dream house (we found ours 2 months before you found yours, but I was hunting right along with you and feeling all the things for each house you toured. It really does feel amazing to find the right one!)

For the laundry. We are a family of seven and I have a small dollar tree basket for each family member. Right out of the dryer I sort the clothes and hand my kids a basket each. As long as it gets in the drawers im happy. Gotta do what you gotta do ;)

I am a mom of 5 - 4 boys and 1 girl. They are all grown now, but I promise I have not matched and folded socks in 17 or more years. What started as the sock basket for missing mates, just turned into "The Sock Basket". And I personally have not missed that chore since.

I like the new bathroom rug and shower curtain. I would get another rug and place it in front of the toilet/tub for the kids to step out on from the bath/shower. Yellow towels would complete the look and bring more yellow into the bathroom. Also get two yellow hand soap pumps and toothbrush holder will really bring it together.

If you're son's anything like mine, good luck 😆 he's just turned 12 and is 5'8" with sz 11, nearly 12, men's shoes. Nothing fits for long, I can tell you! Also with your sports bras, you could put a stitch in the padding opening to keep it from falling out, but leave room for you to adjust it if needed, or a safety pin just for washing times 👌

In the area that you keep the sock bin, you should keep baskets for family members. You don’t even have to fold them. Just toss in the bins and the kids can fold and hang or you can help them.
For the sports bras, I ALWAYS take the inserts out. I think its more comfortable & you don’t have to worry about them falling out when you wash them
You could always buy 2 smaller rugs to go in front of each basin in the kids bathroom if you can’t find one one foot longer.
You are just so real and I always appreciate how you show it. When I have 85 things running through my head to do, it’s nice reminders this is how most of us moms are! ❤️
The wheels are always turning! ... So much to do always! The mental load of being a parent is taxing!
Kim I have just started using a new laundry system in my new home. Each kid finally has their own room with their own hamper. 1 day a week is assigned to that kids laundry so. Laundry is still done daily but me and that child do full basket start to finish on that particular day. Stops from having to sort in piles and have overwhelming laundry each day. Mayb u can try and see if works for your family!

Omg Kim your sock bin brings me back to my childhood, i used to offer to fold the laundry as a kid so I could pick out the socks I wanted for the week and I would hide them in my pillowcase so my sister who I shared a room with wouldn’t try to take them lol

Were a family of 5 and we each have a plastic washing basket that stays in the bedrooms then bought down and washed then the baskets get put on the table and when their full they go back up to the bedrooms to be put away. 1 mummy and 4 kids from the uk .. this system works for me so it might work for you too xx

So I only have 5 family members, but I have sorted laundry carts for each family member. So much easier to just wash one person’s clothes when they’re needing something and much easier to put away. Kids hate folding their pjs/socks/underwear, so that load gets dumped in their drawer afterwards.

I am totally with you on the sports bra situation!!! So frustrating! I just bought one from under armor and it’s completely sewed in 👏🏻👏🏻😁 it’s the infinity sports bra…your welcome 😉😁
We have our laundry sorted into 6 baskets: Towels, whites, greys, blacks, reds (+pink and yellow) and blues (+green). It works great, kids know exactly what goes where, a pair of socks usually ends up in one basket and it doesn’t get lost, because when it’s full I just dump it into the washer!
Please buy a large living room area rug, it will help knock out some of that echo.

I have a pair of 2T Christmas jammies that my son has worn each Christmas since he was 1. He is now 8 and I can’t wait to squeeze him into it! It almost ripped last year, so prepared for this to be the last year we can do it. He just puts them for a picture on Christmas Eve since they are so tight now.

There is a device to help with the cup thing for sport bras. Its pretty much a set of long thin tongs with some silicone at the ends for grip.

We had the same problem with the internet, living in our new house in a rural area and with more land. And both of us work from home so we had to get an extra equipment that was more expense to have better service. But it’s so worth living away from neighbors though 😄.

Hello my name is valia I live in Volos Greece. First of all congrats on the new home is beautiful. I wish I have one😀😀 I am still on rent. I saw your house display on your video and I have some suggestions if I may.
I believe it would be best if you turn your dining room in your little girl room by close completely the door which is by the front door and add an regular door on the other side. Place your dining table near your kitchen close to your windows so when you have guests you can enjoy the view while eating rather to be on a close room. Also you can add some furniture on the entryway(where the door is now if you built it) so you have room for jackets shoe's or bags (dropzone). Additional this way all the bedrooms is all together and you can isolate your daughter at night when have people and hear her while you are in the kitchen cooking rather passing by her glass doors.
Now suggestions on the room with the glass doors is maybe an office for you or your husband with a 🛋 which can open so people can sleep over. I hope I am not overstepping it is only a suggestion. I wish you and your beautiful family all the best. Enjoy your house to the fullest. (sorry if I misspelled anything. English is not my native language). I post it in the previous video but you didn't see it so here it is again 😁😁💗💗
