- Hey party people! thanks so much for hanging out with me again while I share this new around the house happenngs with you! What's going on with you these days?! For us, we got a new couch... quite dramatic. I also delt with thanksgiving leftovers, cleaning the fridge, sharing a grocery haul, sharing what's in my kids' lunch, and so much more. You know how we do it here - it's just a hodgepodge of everything because that's life!

I realize we're strangers but I'm gonna give you some unsolicited advice. Give yourself some grace about getting the house all together. You are so busy taking care of your family, I feel you are scheduling too much and you're going to wear yourself out. Eventually you'll figure out the sofa, the Christmas tree, organize your pantry and closet. The house isn't going anywhere, you'll be there for years. Want you to enjoy your hardwork and those adorable little monsters. Finally, it's so fun watching you & Alex eat brownies one spoon at a time. Brilliant idea! Talking NASA brilliant. 🙂
Well I think I wouldn't have pressure on myself to get my house together, but it is our birthday season so we have had many people over so I didn't want it to look disheveled. I wear myself out on a normal day - regardless of what I'm doing lol That's just who I am. There's always something to be done. Brownies help me get through

I will give you the same advice someone gave me and it changed my perspective… You have the rest of your life to keep a tidy home. Enjoy your children while you still have them around. This is just the season of life you’re in currently. It will change and you will miss these days.
I am a mom of 4 and only 2 are left at home. I remember the days of multiple sporting events in one day, as well as working full time and caring for a home and my family. It gets crazy 😜. I get it!
Just breathe and enjoy the moments and memories you’re making with your kids. That’s what will stick with you over the years, not a guest coming over and noticing that you’ve washed the dishes.
My husband reminds me when I get stressed out with staying on top of all of my chores, he says, “magazine homes are for single people.” Lol 😂
You’re an amazing mother! That’s what matters. 🥰
@@MFarmer1234 great advice! I always enjoy moments with my children and take time out to have one on one time with them as much as I can. My home will never be magazine worthy lol I’m not worried about that. I came to that realization years ago!
@@thewadsquad I thought of that when you showed the spill in the fridge drawer. Reminded me of the days when my house was full of kids. Miss it, but also enjoy my clean fridge. LOL
I gave up on a “Pinterest” worthy tree many many years ago. Instead, I put ornaments on it, that have meaning. Our tradition is that each child gets a new ornament every year, one which represents an accomplishment or important event in their life for that year. This year i sent my granddaughter a personalized ornament for her first day in daycare. Since we started the tradition, I put up their ornaments or home made ornaments from them or me all over our tree. I think it’s absolutely fabulous and definitely Pinterest worthy with meaning and memories!
No matter how your home looks, it is full of happy children and that is all that really matters. My mother told me once , if your home is always immaculate, that is a sign of a very board women.

I use this now when buying for my 6-year-old granddaughter. She's the only grandkid so I would go nuts buying everything I see. That saying really helps me. Just a thought ❤💚💜💙💛
The kids would probably love a trampoline with a net! Best toy of my childhood for sure
I second this!! My grandpa used to hook a water sprinkler up to the top of the net in the summer and I spent so much time jumping and having fun while playing in water to keep me cool during summer days at home.

If I had that view, I'd never block it with a couch! Just a suggestion, why not move the couch that is now in front of the window, move it across the room & have it face the window? you could put a sofa table behind it and decorate it for guests to see as they come in. :-)

With the couch situation- you should get a couch that has a chaise lounge on the side the stairs are on (so essentially a small sectional? Or just small l shaped couch?) and put two small accent chairs on the side the backyard doors are on, even the small couch u have there blocks the view but two accent chairs would work!
Or you can get one of those u shaped couches and then it won’t come out long enough on the sides to block the backyard view or the view into the house from the front door
YES!!! There IS a two-year sleep regression! My daughter just turned two and we are in it, FULL FORCE, right now! My husband works third shift, so he never sees it, but we were at a hotel Saturday night, and he SAW it. The next day, I’m pretty sure he had a new appreciation for me! 😂 Now he knows why I want to go to bed when he gets home from work in the morning… 🤷🏻♀️😆

Your house looked good. My husband is a first responder and goes into some pretty nasty places. Delivery drivers also see some pretty nasty places too. My husband know that our house is not always going to be spotless. He is happy as long as the bathrooms are clean and he has clean dishes to eat on.

Around Christmas time our Aldi here in the U.K does sell a pack of Brussel sprouts for about 0.30 pence. Carrots and parsnips usually too. Hope you get the couch sorted sooner than later. Another great video. Thank you for putting a little happy in our day.
We wanted a 'nice couch' for when we hosted Thanksgiving. Turns out no one wanted to sit inside anyway! lol It all worked out. We will probably get the new couch delivered in May!

I think that you made the right choice to exchange the massive couch. It was going against the flow of the room. I still have to deck the halls & decorate too although not sure how much I will get done. Whatever you do I'm sure it will turn out lovely. You've been so busy be sure to take time for you.

Try felt pads on the chair legs (lowes or Home Depot or others stores have them in light colors). Feet will no longer scratch or scuff the beautiful floors you have and if they still wobble, they won’t be noisy. I really love your vlogs.
Yes i was just going to tell Kim this, they have wooden dowel pieces or felt to keep bar stools even n then it wont scratch the floor too , try menards home depot etc

Maple dijon and a little rosemary. Rub between your hands if its dried. It wakes up the spice. Or thyme. Its very yummy. Spray your pan to make clean up easier. I serve with rice and a little sauce over the rice and asparagus. Thats my meal.

I was always told to never put potatoes in the fridge.. (my granny was Irish, born here but my great grandmother was from there) And she said to never put them in the fridge, something like they will spoil or grow mold. I can't remember. I keep a burlap sack in my pantry full of potatoes, and one apple. Apparently the apple helps them not to spoil as fast. And don't keep them with onions. I love seeing how other people store their food and such. I know, I'm weird like that 🙃.
My son who is dairy free really likes Annie’s vegan Mac n Cheese. We haven’t had much luck with the Daiya brand. Your videos DO put a lot of happy in my day. Thank you Kim!

LAST year I gave my grand kids there own 3 foot tree for there bedrooms so when they buy presents for family they can put them under was a great hit and surprisingly they didn't remove the decorations from them as they did the big tree in the lounge
I love that you did that! This is the first year my kids have had space in their room for their own little tree and both my older girls have asked to have one!

My morning is made! Kim, I don't know how you do it. We were only blessed with one and I can't imagine having 4. I love the sweet, sweet sounds of DJ Kim on the Wads station. As for your floor, we bought my mom a Shark vacuum mop and it is a game changer. It sweeps and vacuums cordlessly and the floors shine. Not expensive for what it does but you have to change the pads and it comes with cleaner which we saved the bottle & use our own. Thank you for always bringing the happy and spreading joy, peace and love when we need it most. Love Merediiiiith's step in to high fashion hair looks with the oil! Cannot wait to see your tree. Kim, I was where you are now about getting a new tree. I went online checked out the Home shopping network and QVC. I found a tree of my Dreams! A 3 piece, lights already on it, flocked 6' tree! It's so easy to put together, 15 minutes for me, and hardly any fluffing. You just put the bottom of the tree into the base, set it upright in the place you want it. And watch the branches fall into place. Some fluffing first time set up, but a snap the next. And the base is very sturdy! Hang pine-scented things and get this, decide what color of lights and how fast they twinkle. And you don't have to connect the three sections of tree lights together! It's place each section together place the light plug into the wall and use the foot button to see your lighting selections. And the best part was I got to pay it off in 5 payments and it arrived in just over a week from order day! P.S. HSN and QVC have a Clearance section, and sometimes you can find little gems at a reduced price. And still, get it on payments!
I love Christmas trees that are "family trees". All the homemade kid stuff and decorated by the kids. Those are the best.
I love the idea of outside gifts for the family. Such a lovely yard, and lovely place to grow up.

I feel you about the couches. Send em back. I bought a new radio for my son in law's car for Christmas. We had a 10ish mile drive from Clermont that took 45 min. The Best Buy in Posner Park did not order the cable for the back up camera. Winter Garden said we would have to come back another day and they were running late today.. After we drove to Minneola to get kids, then Clermont, then back to get the car now with restless kids. We hated how the whole thing stuck out and a cord was hanging. It looked jenky. Long story short as you say. New radio ordered, new instal date. We were so late coming home, we had to tell my son in law. No more surprise. I would have cried if I hadn't been so tired.
So push the store a little, get a deal on some new couches. You can do this. Tell them you want a full refund if they can't work with you.

Ok Kimmy, here comes the advice people!! LOL Sweet potatoes should not be in refrigerator, the centers can become hard and potato can develop an unpleasant taste, no unpeeled onions in refrigerator as can absorb moisture and spoil faster, also no refrigeration for regular potatoes. It will turn the starch into sugar and does not prolong them. You have the perfect pantry, get baskets and place on the floor under your shelves if no other room. You can buy furniture throws designed for furniture to keep things clean, you can wash those. Remove when company coming over! Try putting felt furniture pads on the bottom of your snack bar chairs. You are doing a good job and love your videos.

Why do you put onions and potatoes in the fridge? Buy yourself onion and potato containers (they have lots of ventilation) and put them in your pantry! It's also better not to refrigerate tomatoes, too---their flavor diminishes in the fridge. Nicely done, girl!

Potatoes are trickier, though. They convert their starch to sugar in the cold then when they are cooked (especially roasting or frying), they form some kind of cancer-causing chemical. I can’t remember what it’s called, but Google could probably tell you.

When I was first married our Christmas tree was all match match. Whe we started having children we buy them one special decoration each year. I will add a couple of new ones too each year. So now our tree has an eclectic mix of special decorations and I love it so much more than a perfect themed tree.
I didn’t scroll through all 623 comments to see if anyone answered your question about the stove top… when you turn the burner knob to the left side it only heats up the small ring on your cooktop. The right side heats up the large ring (and the small one). This allows you to use a bigger or smaller burner as needed. Also the temp (on mine) is LOW all the way to the bottom left or bottom right. If you turn it to the left bottom the small burner will be on low. Right bottom is large burner on low. Hope this helps…

Love the new couch. Fits your modern style house. It's not too big, it can fit your family comfortable. Just have to make sure the kids feel there bare feet off the couch.
As a Canadain who just woke up to a good foot of snow watching someone from a warm climate call it cold makes me giggle. Makes me wish I lived in Florida so I wouldn’t have to wear so many layers.

I moved to FL a few years ago. I'm northwest of Kim, but I had to run out to my car around 8 pm last night. I had a tee-shirt and shorts on and was able to run out in bare feet. It was gorgeous out with stars, palm trees and calm air...probably about 70ish. That's when I swoon over being in FL. So simple, no layers or even shoes.
@@sewingstoryprojects6178 then you get to the middle of summer where it’s so hot and humid is that you feel like you’re breathing soup when you go outside and you break a sweat walking to the car. I live in coastal southeast Texas and the climate is VERY similar. Lol there’s always give and take 🤷♀️😅🤣
@@allisonmiller3148 absolutely there's always a give or take. I am in AZ, it was about 60 degrees around 10pm last night. I was in shorts, tee-shirt and saddles and I went outside to my car and thought, it's a bit chilly and ran back in. But in the summers, you go outside @night around the same time (10pm) and you run back inside because it'll feel like you can see all the water you just drank evaporate from your body (lol) because it is still a scorching 90 degrees. It's crazy!
Love your videos, Kim! I really look forward to them. Grapes keep longer when they’re kept on the stem. You might not have that problem, but for those of us with smaller families (at this point, it’s just my husband and me), I keep mine on the stem so they don’t go icky before we can eat them all. ❤️

I agreed about the grapes. It is just my husband and myself, too. I cut the stem with scissors into managable clusters so you can just grab a little bunch and go :)

Your house doesn't need to be perfect! I love the realness of a lil mess here and there! Clearly you live in your home!!! And I consider your house clean😂
With strawberries if you soak them in vinegar with water(about a 1:1 ratio..I dont really measure) for about 20 mins then rinse them..allow them to dry a bit before putting them in the fridge..they last a bit longer..however if those get eaten pretty fast ..it doesn't matter.
Just something I learned recently that's helped me keep them fresh longer because it stops mold from growing as fast...and also allowing them to drain outside the fridge and dry. I never thought to use Castile soap to rinse the fruit though. I usually just use water with grapes.
