Why THIS is the BEST TIME for International Medical Graduates (IMGs) to work in the NHS/UK

  • It's an unfortunate truth that many international medical graduates (IMGs) sabotage their own road to UK by getting caught up in the rumor mill of things that may happen or things that someone else has heard, or without understanding why certain things are the way they are.
    Our viewers often ask us to breakdown countless news articles, screenshots, comments and what have you, saying it is our responsibility to do so. The reality is, it is your responsibility to understand the information that comes across your desk. All we are here to do is provide vetted and sourced content. And that is what we hope to continue to do in this video.
    📑 Chapters:
    00:00 Intro
    00:23 Things to first understand
    03:05 Removal of RLMT (Resident Labor Market Test)
    04:38 Applying for competitive specialties
    05:02 Health and Care visa & no IHS payment
    05:31 Your PMQ can exempt you from exams
    06:12 Non-UK experience can be recognized
    07:01 Dependents can live and work with you
    07:45 Permanent residency (ILR) & British citizenship
    08:30 So why is THIS the best time?

      Except fresh graduates are getting jobs. We are in the working environment and see it on a daily basis, and even get emails or messages from many who have done it.

Got job offers from 3 different consultants in medicine (asked me to apply whenever i see a vacancy in the hospital).Have done als. Have 2 audits in india. One research paper published. Got called for interviews 4 times. Received comments that i did well but someone more experienced was there and they got the jobs. Now i am working. Planning to do mrcp 1. And hoping to land a job soon. (For one job, one of my imt3 equivalent in india and me competed for the same post and guess what she got it and i didnt).
      I have 2 cousins working in the uk. One is gp trainee and other is an anaesthesia trainee. Both imgs. They had it so much easier in 2017 and 2018 time respectively.

    Britain's experience so far has shown that the more doctors (many imported from overseas) the NHS got, the less productive it is. Figures showed that even with more doctors and nurses in the NHS, it a actually treated fewer patients than pre-pandemic levels. One reason could be the new recruits were having to be supervised and took.up time.

    • @tanamly
      @tanamly Pƙed rokem

      And another reason could be Britain's policy during the pandemic which medically is attributing to an overall higher immunity and hence less load on the system.
      Your comment is as uninformed as it is lamentable.

    • @RoadToUK
      @RoadToUK  Pƙed rokem

      Sorry, people not deciding to come to the UK doesn't hurt our channel. If we wanted to shut down the channel tomorrow, we can and it wouldn't affect us any.
      For more than four years, we've made videos and written articles about how international doctors can come and work in the UK with no ill intent. We aren't a job agency nor are we headhunters.
      What we (unlike the individuals who made the video we have reacted to) are, however, are actual NHS doctors with real NHS work experience. It's up to you whether or not to trust our experience, but again, unlike the original video, we've given countless cited references in the description box backing up every single thing we've said.
      Ultimately, what you choose to believe or not believe is up to you, but it's funny how quick you are to judge trust in a situation like this
