Florida shut that shit down fast. So far as "1st Amendment" you also have the right to freedom of movement and blocking streets violates that for people. It's called false imprisonment.
I really cherish the saying of: Your freedom ends where the freedom of another begins.
I believe that this is supposed to be the core concept in any law regarding the freedom of any individual or group. If you hold any situation to this line, then you should know what is the right way to act.
So I think Florida did the right thing here on account of what you stated regarding freedom of movement.

2. If they don't, the police should arrest them and charge them with a relevant crime.
3. If they don't, the public should use whatever means necessary to get the rioters out of their way
4. If the rioters are injured in the course of a member of the public engaging in point number 3, the rioters alone should be responsible for all punitive damages, including those suffered by the members of the public in carrying out point number 3, both to persons AND property. @@SpottopsNLbrainrot to think obstructing traffic isn't hurting people's lives
The fundamental problem is government ownership of roads.
If all roads were private, there'd be no obligation to allow protests on one's property. It would be trespassing and immediately punishable.

What's also important to note is that the police aren't there to arrest the people blocking traffic or even hinder them. If they so much as lay a finger on them they risk losing their jobs by social media.
They are there only to arrest those who try to get past those blocking the road, the everyday citizens who want to get to work, because they know that they won't cause as much of a fuss.
The police fear consequences of doing their job, many have already left or been fired for doing so, leaving many who either don't care about enforcing the law or outright agree with those blocking the road, making them more crooked than ever.
Not to mention how short staffed and spread thin they already are. It's everything else that's the actual joke.

*should be
you have the right to peacefully protest not use terrorism and threats of violence
No objective threat was made.
All you can argue is that some subjective threat was made, in your opinion.
Government doesn't exist to retaliate against subjective threats; only objective threats.
If its job was to retaliate against subjective threats, then you could be arrested for murder while innocently walking down the street, simply because an officer believes that you "could be" a murderer.
Do you want that kind of society? I don't.
@@npcknuckles5887 He literally posted a picture of a makeshift gun in reply to a government official against protestors. Not even close to walking down the street and being arrested because someone thinks you "could be" a murderer. You're saying a lot, but in essence are just trying to minimize what he did.
@@npcknuckles5887then tweet that picture to the president of the US if you believe that
@@npcknuckles5887 Impeding traffic, especially to this degree, is a violation of one's right to travel. It is kidnapping in the strictest sense of the term. Stop defending these fucks.
@MegaKing10001 I know that we have a rights-violating government, though.
Every day, the government violates everyone's rights. It's no good to live in denial of that. We are far far far from the ideal of a free society. It's really quite sad.
The first ammendment right to protest in America is for where are known as traditional public forums. Sidewalks, parks, legislative grounds, etc.. not in the middle of the street. I'm Canadian and even I know this.
there's tons of people here claiming this is how protests were in the past, yeah no they weren't, in the past people would protest in front of Government buildings where the people with real power are at, what we have here is a riot and those typically don't help their movements win over anyone.
Roads are still government property, so the government is still under a fundamental obligation to respect and protect people's right to freedom of speech, expression, assembly and protest.... on government property.
Anything contrary to that is rights-violating and tyrannical.
If you don't like it, then do what I do and advocate for the complete privatization of all roads, bridges and highways.
@npcknuckles5887 having rights does not mean they are without restrictions.. they are restricted by time, place, and manner. In this case by place. Also I would add that these rights are specifically to ensure that the government doesn't punish or retaliate against the public for things protected by rights. In a situation of protesting in the streets without prior permits, the police can remove protesters - they aren't being removed for protesting, they're being removed because they're blocking the streets, which is not a constitutional right or legal.
@@zeroremorse24x7 I'm sorry but you've been misled. Rights actually have no restrictions, because rights ONLY pertain to rights-respecting actions. What you really mean is that human action has restrictions (eg. you can't murder someone). Since there is no right to violate rights, that is not a restriction on rights.
Government has an obligation to respect and protect people's rights. If the government stops protests on government roads, then that is rights-violating/tyrannical.
Also, there is no such thing as a "constitutional right". There are only the natural and unalienable rights of the individual. All that the constitution (bill of rights) did was UNDERSCORE a handful of rights that the framers felt needed some additional protection in writing. The bill of rights didn't grant us rights. Rights don't come from government. This is basic knowledge ffs.
@@npcknuckles5887 You don't have a right to impede one's right of travel and hold people hostage. So no, other's rights ARE being violated. I'm an ancap, so don't try to twist libertarian logic to justify this shit.
When the Vietnam war happened, people protested at senates and the white house as well as at congress. Sadly you will never convince a bunch of fossils of anything, but that was the place to do it. Blocking traffic does nothing but make people originally ignorant or even on their side to instead actively hate them. This doesn't raise awareness, it just ruins your point.
When the rule of law breaks down, law enforcement becomes irrelevant. People will take justice into their own hands (as it should be). Common law needs to make a triumphant return.
I'd like the chatter that blindly said "1st ammendment" to show me where in the constitution that you can impede traffic and thus remove someone else's right to travel freely.
Which constitution allows you to violently remove someone for standing in front of your car?
@@stygian4011 It's not in the constitution but it is in fact a law and in stand your ground states where your car is legally recognized as an extension of your home you can legally use deadly force to defend yourself and your property if you feel threatened and in immediate danger. Which by extension is the police's job to remove said people who are impeding traffic but they weren't doing their job and won't because big cities side with criminals...
@@ibrosyndicate if you feel threatened by someone blocking a road you have mantel issues. Sorry but wtf is that reasoning...
@@stygian4011 Google people who have been pulled out of their vehicles and it won't seem like such a silly sentiment... There's a trucker who was pulled from his truck and beaten to death a few years ago. Funny enough I believe it was about 20 years prior to that he had been pulled out of his truck and beaten severely. Mobs can turn violent at a moments notice and that's why the police should keep them off the roadway, apart from the obvious reasons such as emergency vehicles needing to respond to, ya know, actual emergencies... People have died in ambulances because they couldn't receive the care they needed because the roads were blocked by "peaceful protestors"
@@stygian4011 And if you believe you have a right to take away someone else's rights to travel freely for an issue happening halfway across the world you have actual serious mental issues. What good is blocking a highway? All this form of protest does is radicalize those who already disagree with them.
If a Proud Boy posted that image he'd get 5 years in jail.

That’s unacceptable. Imagine a pregnant lady in labor stuck behind those guys. I can see how her husband could take extreme action in such a scenario.
you probably don't have to imagine it, this is New York, the sheer amount of people in that city means that it's a simple numbers game that someone being held up by these idiots has some kind of emergency.
that already happened back then when Just Stop Oil protestors were blocking the way
Pregnant lady is not the worst thing that can get stuck in traffic. She can at least give birth in a car, but what if a doctor doesn't show up for an important surgery, or someone called an ambulance or a firetruck. These people are horrible and I don't understand what braindead chatter called it "1st amendment"
It's happened. Births, people missing the last few moments their loved ones had left, people with rare diseases missing appointments only given a few times a year, etc.
@@qunas101 I wouldn't call them horrible, they are just misguided. The right to protest is there, but there is a when and where to this. Blocking traffic only alienates people and makes you look bad.
Why doesn't the police just enforce the law and charge them with jaywalking if they refuse to move to the nearest sidewalk?
The police, or more specifically their bosses, are literally puppets of the administration that promotes such crimes. This isnt a meme or a joke, the chiefs are literally being ordered by their superiors to facilitate these actions. Why? There could be alot of reasons, such as breeding controversy and instability for some gain, but thats besides the point that its on purpose. Its not even a "they must believe its ok to commit crime" thing, their bosses will literally fire them and ruin their livelihood, while also letting the criminals out of the jail free of charge, just for enforcing the laws in a way that doesn't conform with their bosses orders.
Because the police are very aware that nobody has their back and everyone will paint any form of force used in the worst possible way.
Reminder when the police used the standard amount of force to break up the CHAZ, which was pretty much rioters taking a city hostage and causing multiple deaths, they ended up getting sued and the city decided to pay the rioters millions rather than fight the suit.
love when the "good people" are more unhinged, then the ones they keep crying about.
what are double standards...
The fact that the police wont means I think I'm with the 2016-2020 sentiments, if they are no longer obligated to "protect and defend" then why do they exist?
The entire LEGAL (not justice, she left the building a long time ago) needs a "refreshing" cause they are deeply corrupt and derelict in duty.

"take matters into your own hands to get them out of the way" is a common phrase used to describe situations involving vigilantes, saying he is never called for killings is a lie
he didn't. But you need that phrase to mean that to justify your ideals.
Unless he actually called for any of that, you schizophrenically reinterpreting something someone says doesn't change anything. Especially when we're talking about someone threatening an elected official because they want people to stay out of the road and stop being annoying.

It would be great is the cops did remove the unemployed from blocking traffic. But lets be honest they just stand there and do nothing.
Hamasabi calling for violence. Dang thats crazy.
Fr bro it’s so out of character
I think what the post is clearly insinuating is completely insane. However, if the Police refuse to do _their_ job, then this _will_ be the result. It's when the Police refuse to get involved that people start taking matters into their own hands. In the long run, this will affect jobs and business, and if ever you wanted someone to start taking drastic measures, just interfere with their ability to make a living and see what happens. If the Police doesn't solve the problem, someone else will.
and that's to say nothing of the possibility of one of the drivers having a medical emergency, and it's not unrealistic to assume that's the case given the size of New York, at that point it's a numbers game that someone trapped in traffic by these idiots has a real emergency.
