  • You cannot treat for cockroaches unless you know the specific species that you are dealing with. Different species get treated differently. If you are unsure about the species of cockroaches that are causing you a problem, then check this out.
    Please note, sometimes I do not always receive posted questions from viewers, or I do receive them, but CZcams does not allow me to respond to them. Sometimes I do not receive a question until six months after it was posted. These glitches do not happen often, but they do happen. It is my policy to respond to all questions, so if you do not hear from me in a few of days, then please email your question to me at guyspestsolutions@gmail.com. Please do try to post questions in the comment section first and only use the email address if you don't hear from me. The reason for this is that other folks may have the same question, so it would be nice for them to learn as well. Also, I always answer comments first, so it will be faster for you. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. Remember... I will always get back to you.

      @@GuysPestSolutionsyou are truly awesome Guy you have helped so many people . hello Good morning. Which insect growth regulator just the regulator by itself? Do you use for fleas and German roaches 1 for indoors 1 for outdoors and 1 for indoors and outdoors would you recommend 3 igr total thank you regulators only

    • @GuysPestSolutions
      @GuysPestSolutions  Před 9 měsíci

      You are asking a very simple, yet very complex question. You would think that an insect growth regulator is an insect growth regulator, but that is not exactly the case. Which one I use depends upon the target pest. For cockroaches, I do not use a liquid IGR. I only use the Gentrol IGR discs. If you would like to learn about German cockroaches, please watch my video on the subject. It's quite long, but very informative. The reason I use discs instead of liquid is because you need to reapply a liquid IGR about every 4 months. When you are dealing with German cockroaches you need to get the IGR under appliances, under electronics, and that sort of thing. For this species you need to do this for an entire year. Therefore, it is way easier to simply slide a disc under the appliances or place one next to the electronic devices every 3 months. This is a huge time saver when treating German cockroaches. Fleas are another story though. You don't want to use the discs to treat fleas. For those guys I use an aerosol product that contains both a pesticide and an IGR. The one I like to use is PT Alpine Flea and Bed Bug Aerosol. Please let me know if you would like to know how to treat fleas. I do not have a video on it yet, but I can explain the process to you. With regard to outside treatment, I normally do not use an insect growth regulator at all. However, there are times when it may be necessary. When that happens, I normally use Tekko Pro. The reason I try not to use an IGR outside is because IGRs are rather expensive, and I can usually take care of the problem just by using a product like Bifen XTS. If you would like to get rid of all the bugs in your house, with the exception of German cockroaches, bed bugs, and things that fly into your house, then I have videos on how to do that. I will give you a link to my videos on how to treat the exterior of your house and how to treat your yard. If you do both of those things, then the only pests you will have in your home going forward will be ones that you carry in or ones that fly in through an open door window. If you choose to treat both your yard and the outside of your house, which is what I do, then you can do both with a hose end sprayer. You are not supposed to do that because it applies too much pesticide to the outside of your house, but it will not harm you with the environment. I do that every 60 days.
      I hope that helps. Be well my friend.

    I've been a Pest Controller since 2012. I do not know all of the species. In Dallas, I only see German Cockroaches, Asian Roaches, and Wood Roaches. My favorite is the German guys. 70% of my living from German Roaches, although Bedbugs, Mice Control and Termite Control and endearing. Also Roof Rats and Bird Control are important down here. I'm really disappointed in Spiders, Fire Ant and Wildlife Control. People don't fear them like they used to.

    Thank you so much for your videos, I watched how to get rid of German roach 5 times and got all the products. • @GuysPestSolutions
      @GuysPestSolutions  Před 6 měsíci

      I am so sorry that you sat through my German cockroach video 5 times. Wow. You are a real trouper. Most people complain about watching it just once. In your case, you didn't need to watch it at all because you don't have German roaches. The photos you sent were not as focused as they need to be, and they were of a nymph, so I cannot positively identify the species, but these are not German. I answered your email and I believe they are a much less common species that we don't usually see. I will work with you to get them properly identified and treated.
      I hope that helps. Be well Jane.

    Hi, this is about your terminate monitoring station - we have a big crawl space under the house with dirt. Should I install station under the house? How far from the walls? Thanks you

    • @GuysPestSolutions
      @GuysPestSolutions  Před 9 měsíci +1

      If you are talking about the monitoring stations that are made out of water bottles, then you usually do not need to put them under the house. It is possible for subterranean termites to establish a colony under the house, but it is somewhat unusual. I suppose you could put them under there, but you would need to go under the crawl space every month to check them, and I don't think that would be very convenient. Most of the time, the termites are going to attack from outside of the house. That is why I generally only install the monitoring stations around the outside perimeter of the house. That being said, if you're going to install them around the perimeter under the house, then you can place them about 6 to 12 inches from the wall. Just like for the outside, you would want to space them about 4 feet apart.
      Please let me know if you are talking about the bait stations that are made out of laundry detergent bottles. If that is the case, then my advice is totally different.
      I hope that helps. Be well my friend.

      @@GuysPestSolutionshello, i am replying to one of your comments hoping you will see it. I tried to email you but it was returned as nonexistent. I think I have brought in roaches from a nursing home. I’ve seen about 4. After watching your videos, I think 3 were American roaches as they were very large. 1 was a Smokey brown I think. I had a pic of it I attached to email but it didn’t get to you. Which methods should I use to get rid of them? I’ve so far only seen them in my garage where I have a lot of tubs of my belongings stacked as I am in transition and have lived in a brand new rent house for 2 yrs. After your teaching, I don’t think I have German roaches but I know what they look like now and will be on the lookout. Please help
