    IT WORKED! AFTER OVER 5 YEARS TRYING TO BATTLE PHORAID FLIES FROM THE DRAIN. ESPECIALLY IN THE WINTER IT WAS SO BAD I COULD BREATHE THEM IN THEY WERE ALL OVER MY FOOD. THE RAID ANY AND ROACH SPRAY WORKED!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! THAT WAS A NO-BRAINER BUT I NEVER THOUGHT TO USE THOSE KINDS OF CHEMICALS AROUND THE DRAIN!!! I ONLY HAD TO SPRAY IT TWO NIGHTS IN A ROW AND THEY'RE GONE FOREVER IT'S NOW BEEN 3 MONTHS!!!! I’ve been dealing with drain flies for 2-3 years now, and I can’t wait to get to the store tomorrow to try this myself! Thanks for verifying that it worked!! (Mine are worse in the summer… my pipes are above ground in an airy/open “crawl space” under my mobile home and it gets severely cold in the winter, so they slow WAY down around this time of year, but come summer, they’re all over the shower and bathroom walls. 😒

      @@carissa4110 Please keep in mind that, if you still have the flies after you treat the drains, then you may have a leaky toilet seal. Drain flies come through the drains. There is a wax seal under the toilet that can fail sometimes. If there is any movement in the toilet, then this may have happened. If this is the case, then you should get the seal replaced, but there is a temporary fix that you can use and it only costs a couple of dollars to do. Get a container of plumber's putty from any of the big box stores like Home Depot. You can find it in the plumbing section. It's kind of like Play-Doh, so you can mold it to any shape you want. Just force it into the space between the toilet and the floor, all the way around the toilet, so that there is no way for the flies to escape. I'm not saying that you have this problem, but given the number of flies involved and the fact that they are seasonal in your case, that always raises a red flag for me and gets me thinking that there could be a compromised toilet seal. If this solves the problem, then you have confirmed that you do have a bad seal under the toilet. Try to get that repaired as soon as you can because there will be water leaking under there every time you flush the toilet and that will cause the floor to rot. You don't want to turn a small repair into a more expensive repair. Hopefully, just treating the drains will do the trick. If not, then you now know what is probably going on. I hope that helps. Be well Carissa.

The source has always been in his garbage can which he is not good about putting on the curb in a timely manner. That changed when the fruit flies drove him crazy. @@GuysPestSolutionswhat can you do if they are coming from the toilet?

    • @GuysPestSolutions
      @GuysPestSolutions  Před měsícem

      @@marie2511If you have drain flies that are coming from under your toilet, the right way to do it is to replace the closet seal. Keep in mind that in addition to the flies, sewer gases are coming out of that seal as well. Therefore, it is a very good idea to get that fixed as soon as possible. Until you do though, there is a temporary fix for it.
      Go to any of the big box stores and you can purchase plumbers' putty in the plumbing department. This is an inexpensive product that looks and feels a little bit like Play-Doh. It does not harden, and you can mold it into any shape you like. Simply roll it into kind of like a thin cylinder and force it into the gap between the toilet and the floor. Jam it in there as deep as you can. You can then smooth it off with your finger or putty knife. Simply remove the excess and ensure that you have a tight seal around that gap between the toilet and the floor, all the way around the toilet. This will stop the flies and the sewer gas from coming out from under the toilet.
      It is going to be tempting to simply leave it like this and never bother fixing the closet seal, but I would urge you not to do that. You can probably hire a plumber to do this for a little more than $100 in most cases. This is also something you can do for under $10 by watching a CZcams video on how to do it. Keep in mind that toilets are very heavy, so this should be done by somebody with a bit of upper body strength.
      I hope that helps. Be well Marie.

Can I apply it to the side of the sink that has the garbage disposal? @@normib6 You can use this treatment in all your drains, including the garbage disposal. That won't hurt anything.
      Most flying insects that are coming in from the outside need to be treated on the outside. Most likely this would require a yard treatment. The easiest thing you can do from the inside would be to not open the window. If that is not an option, then treat the window from the outside with bifenthrin. You won't need much for one window, but you need to apply it every 60 days. Treat the screen and all places where bugs can get through. I will give you a link to the product. This may not stop the bugs from going to the window, but they die after landing on it. Death occurs in a few hours after contact. I hope that helps. Be well my friend.

    I don’t have fresh fruit laying around but somehow had fruit flies in the bathrooms coming from drains. I had tried the expensive fruit fly goo with citronella in it, that you have to put in the drains over and over. It’s expensive and didn’t seem to work. I saw your video and was surprised I didn’t think of it! So easy! I didn’t have any ant/roach spray handy but I used some phantom II spray that I had, with the long plastic tip was able to get it down inside the drain very easy. And it worked like a charm after one treatment! Thanks for the info. Love your channel lots of good information.

    • @GuysPestSolutions
      @GuysPestSolutions  Před 8 měsíci +2

      Thank you so much for those kind words. Very much appreciated. I can see how Phantom II would work, but I have never tried it. I suggested the Raid because pretty much anyone can just go to the store and buy it and it works great. The reason these products work is because they are aerosols and the spray will cover all the gunk in the drain. They are also good residuals, so they will keep working all night long to kill the larvae. The reason the stuff you pour down the drain doesn't work is because it misses the gunk and that is where the flies are breeding. Don't feel bad if you didn't think of it. Nobody else has either. Not even pest controllers. It's funny how sometimes the simplest and most obvious solution to a problem is staring us right in the face and we never see it. That happens to me all the time. Trust me. I didn't think of this right away either. It literally can't fail though and it is so easy to do. I am so happy you got the problem solved. Be well my friend.

    As a DIY'er and a handyman who knows a bit about plumbing, I'm still confused as to how these drain flies get into the home in the 1st place, when drains are typically sealed via the p-trap. I could only assume they enter the home from outside, make their way to the drain and or fruit, and then multiply from there.

    • @GuysPestSolutions
      @GuysPestSolutions  Před 11 měsíci +14

      Drain flies can come in from the outside, but it is more common for them to enter because of a leaky closet seal under the toilet or a drain that has not been used for some time and the water in the trap evaporated enough to allow the flies to get past it. Fruit flies are something people simply bring in with them when they buy fruits and vegetables. The eggs are already on the produce when you buy it. I hope that helps. Be well my friend.

      Boiling water will kill them, but the problem is that they are breeding in the drain sludge that is on the sides of the pipes. The boiling water may not hit all the areas where the sludge is located and where they are breeding. Also, you may not hit that sludge well enough to kill the eggs. What I am suggesting gets them every time. Don't worry. It's safe for the environment. Bleach is much worse to put down the drains and people use it all the time in the wash. Don't even get me started on drain openers. That stuff is totally caustic, yet people think nothing of pouring Drano down the sinks. Trust me. The planet will still be alive and well when you wake up in the morning. The only thing different will be that the flies are gone. Be well my friend.

Due to that, we had a lot of what I thought was fruit flies all over the sink & dirty dishes. However, I’m not thinking they may be drain flies. After a short time, we’ve gotten a looooot. I am very sensitive to aerosols as is an asthmatic that lives here. I live in a humid area of Texas prone to the annoying flies also but don't use bug sprays inside or out. A combo light/bug catcher lightbulb keeps them from coming in the door. When you have icky stuff to throw away, put it in a plastic bag (I use grocery bags) and put it in the freezer while adding to it until you are taking the trash out. I wait until the day the trash truck is coming and put said frozen bag in the rolling container. No more bugs in the trash. For the sink, I have plastic bowls (cheap plastic, not what you would eat from) that I keep upside down over the drains. As needed, I can slide the bowl over to let the water drain from the sink then immediately recover the drain. No more bugs in the drains. I also have screen drain covers to catch debris and empty debris into the ick bag in the freezer.

    I ALWAYS wash my vegetables and fruit, except for bananas, in my sink filled with cold water and a bunch of vinegar. I cut the lettuce apart from the stem, and the rest of the vegetables. Dump it all into the sink with the vinegar water. I just go about other things and when I get back to the kitchen, I swish everything around, then take everything out giving them a good shake and place everything onto a large bath towel to dry. I will also take any berries that I bought into a colander and dunk it into the water as well, swishing them around to make sure I get the vinegar water into all the cavities of the berries. I generally just let the berries dry out on a separate towel for each berry variety. Once they are dry, I store them in any container that is the right size for them.
    I’ve had my lettuce last for up to three weeks, broccoli and cauliflower for a week and a half. Berries never last long enough to have a time duration testimonial. Hahaha
    Living in the tropics, vegetables don’t last very long. It’s a must do to save money.
    Another little tip for anyone who wants is that I have the plastic bags that you use for your veggies at the store and I put all my food waste into them and keep them in a separate place in the fridge until trash day. Then it goes into the trash. Same with meat and bones, dairy and anything else that will rot in the trash can.
    I can say that I don’t have ants or cockroaches in my house. Moths and geckos are a separate issue with me.

    • @GuysPestSolutions
      @GuysPestSolutions  Před měsícem +1

      First, make sure that these are actually drain flies or fruit flies. They may be an entirely different species. You would not expect to see drain flies in bedrooms. At least not in any sort of numbers. You may see one or two that happen to fly in, but you should be mainly seeing them in the bathrooms and kitchen. If they are drain flies, then sometimes it takes more than one treatment. Also, make sure that they are not coming from the area where the toilet meets the floor. Oftentimes the closet seal under the toilet is leaking and allowing the flies to escape from the drainpipe. If this is the case, then that closet seal needs to be replaced. I have a temporary fix for that, so let me know if that is what is going on. The closet seal can break if the toilet has any movement at all, or if it was plunged to hard when it clogged up. I recommend catching one of the flies. Put it in jar and let it die a natural death. Then take it out and compare it to the flies in my video. If it's not a drain fly or fruit fly, then please let me know. They could be something like fungus gnats. This may be true if you have house plants. So, identifying the species is very important. I hope that helps. Be well my friend.

      That's great. The only reason this will not work is if you have a closet seal under the toilet that is compromised. That means you have flies coming from the area where the toilet meets the floor. If that is the case, then that seal needs to be replaced. I do have a temporary fix for that, so let me know if that is the case and I will share it with you. I left it out of the video because it was running long. People are already complaining that the video is too long. I figured that would be the case, so the toilet fix ended up on the cutting room floor. We live in a TikTok world today where everyone wants all the problems in the world solved in 2 minutes or less. Not an easy bar to get over. The closet seal under the toilet notwithstanding, your flies will be gone after 1 or 2 treatments.

    My father drank beer a LOT so there were always beer cans with drain flies around them. I don't know if I got lucky or what but I kept pouring boiling water down the drain and capping it. They went away. They came back months later either because it was just a temporary fix or because he lived in a lake house and always had the house wide open but I just did it again. This time they're in my house and under the lip in my toilet. Scrubbing it hasn't helped. Being newly disabled makes things a bit more difficult. I'll get it done

    • @GuysPestSolutions
      @GuysPestSolutions  Před rokem +2

      It sounds like, even though your father had a lot of flies around, they must have been happy flies if they were drinking all that beer. Lol. In your case, the problem you're having is most likely that the closet seal that connects the toilet to the soil pipe has been compromised. This is allowing the drain flies to travel freely from the drain pipe into your environment. The solution for that is to have the seal replaced. If you cannot afford a plumber, and you are too disabled to do this yourself, then you can try sealing around the toilet with plumbers' putty. I like plumbers' putty because you can mold it kind of like Play-Doh and push it right into the voids between the toilet and the floor. After that, the excess is easily removed with your finger. This material takes a long time to harden, and it is very easily removed, in case the toilet needs to be removed. It is non-staining, and will not damage the floor in anyway. There's also another way to treat this, but I cannot talk about it in the comment section. To obtain this treatment method you would need to email me at guyspestsolutions@gmail.com. Keep in mind that the treatment I will be giving you if you email me is only a temporary fix, and the flies will return. Also, it is not always 100% effective. Naturally, the right way to do a district place that closet seal.
      I hope that helps. Be well my friend.

I went into my crawlspace, sure enough, right under the bathroom was a leaky sewer pipe that created a small swamp containing thousands of swimming larvae. I replaced the old leaky pipe and no more drain flies. For me, they were actually an early indicator I had a much larger problem brewing. And that I need to keep up on my routine inspections...

      That will do it. Most of the time what happens is they either fly in from the outside, you have a drain that is not used much and the water evaporated from the trap enough to allow the flies to get past it, or your toilet seal is broken. With fruit flies, you generally just bring them in the house with you. Of course, leaky drain pipes can do it too. I'm glad you found the problem. Be well my friend.

    8:43 just wanted to write down: stop using bleach! That’s such a big step ecologically that you can use a bit of pesticides once in a while, and still be ecologically on the good side. And then you brought it up.
    However, I want to know how people get food in their drain? I’m really puzzled what kind of food that must be. How it came there.
    I’m from the Netherlands, and the waste bin is under the ground behind the apartment building. There is no direct connection with the outside. Even in the hottest weather never saw an insect around it. This video made me realise that this is quite remarkable. There are no bears in my country, but they also couldn’t get inside.

      Here in America we have garbage disposals in the sink that grind up food and wash it down the drain. Also, the flies are not just attracted to food. Pipes naturally can build up sludge on the sides of the pipe. Even the bathroom sinks. The flies will eat and breed in this sludge. It's really a big problem here. I hope that helps. That is a somewhat unusual situation. I have not run into that before. It is hard to imagine that they would be in the drum where you are washing clothes because they would get washed away. So, it would make sense that they are on the outside of the drum. You cannot usually access that area without taking the machine apart. I am not an appliance guy, but I suspect that different machines come apart differently. If you are lucky, there may be a panel on the back that comes off. I think to treat it you would need to gain access to where they are breeding and apply a pesticide on it or clean away any gunk in there that they may be breeding on. I don't think you would get away with just spraying inside the drum where you put the clothes. If you try that, let it sit overnight and then run a couple of empty loads through the machine to clean it out using hot water and laundry detergent. You may also want to look under the machine. There could be some sort of material under there that the flies are breeding on and they may only appear to be breeding inside the machine. If you are like most people, the machine never gets moved unless it needs to be repaired. There could be some unwanted buildup on the floor under the machine. That is probably the first thing I would check.
      I am so sorry that you are having this problem and I wish I could be for more help. Be well Pamela.

I've never had a lot of gnats here but there has been some sewage problems. One was horrible in my kitchen starting with water seeping under the sink and dishwasher onto the floor. Apparently the apt back to back with mine also had that problem but they dug a 3 ft deep 3 ft wide hole in MY floor which reached into the apartment back to back with me and it remained that way with a big board over it for over a month. Finally they filled it in. Then a few months ago the upstairs apartment tub was overflowing into my tub and my bathroom wall and ceiling were wet. They made a 3 ft square hole in the ceiling over my tub and I had to empty my closet because they had to do something in the pipes and they opened a hole in the closet that led to my bathroom. Once they got it all finished, I started having gnats, not a lot but some until the past couple weeks. I am convinced there maybe sewage in the kitchen and bathroom which is causing this and who knows what the lady upstairs is sending through her kitchen which I presume is somehow connected to my kitchen. That is a horrible situation. There could be a leaky drain pipe that is allowing drain flies into your living space. Sometimes the leak is on the top side of the soil pipe, so it will not leak water, but will allow the flies to escape. They may have also forgot to connect a vent pipe while they were doing the job. Perfectly safe for RV drains. These guys can get into the holding tanks. Particularly the black water tank. It can be hard to reach them in there. So, here's what you do to kill them in the black water tank. Find out how large your holding tank is. Then get some Ortho Home Defense concentrate from Lowes or Home Depot. Pour 1.5 ounces down the toilet for every gallon that the tank holds. So, if it holds 30 gallons, you will need 45 ounces of pesticide. Next, run the water into the toilet until the tank is full and the water is coming up the toilet. Let that sit overnight and then drain the tank in the morning. If you get them in the grey water tank, then you can do the same thing with that. If there is a bug in the tank, it is now dead. The flies sometimes enter the tank from the outside when you are draining the tanks, so you may need to do this from time to time.

So, give the first video a try, and if that doesn't work, then go with the second video, which will show you how to apply a pesticide that should eliminate your problem. Keep in mind though, that mosquitoes can fly fairly long distances, so they can cross over from the neighbor's yard. Most of the time, they stay fairly close to their breeding area, but you may occasionally get one that decides to venture a little further than normal.

      What you are telling me falls into the category of, "Just when I think I've heard it all." That has got to be one of the most ridiculous things I've ever heard in my life. The gas that they use, or are supposed to use, will kill everything in the building. If it is alive and it is in the building, then it is unlikely to survive the gas. So, there is absolutely no such thing as a death swarm. It is 100% total BS. It sounds to me like the fumigation was done incorrectly. If the swarmers survived, then there's a very good chance that the other termites survived as well. The company should repeat the fumigation at no cost. The reason the pest controller told you to wait 90 days is because the swarming season will be over and that activity will go away on its own. This would be the case even if the fumigation was not done. I'm so sorry to have to tell you this, but you are getting hoodwinked. You need to read the contract very carefully to see what your options are. If the pest control company refuses to behave, then you may need to seek the advice of an attorney.
      You should also know that the gas they use to fumigate has absolutely no residual action whatsoever, so you can get reinfested the moment the tent comes down. If you have drywood termites, then your neighbors have them as well. Since drywood termites swarm every year, it is almost a certainty that you will be reinfested within a year after the fumigation is done. The only way to prevent this is to do a preventive treatment on your house every 60 to 90 days. Most pest controllers will not do this, so it is something that you generally need to do yourself. I have a video on how to do that and I will place a link below. You should begin the preventive treatment immediately, so that you do not get additional termites paying you a visit.

    • @GuysPestSolutions
      @GuysPestSolutions  Před 5 měsíci +1

      Scuttle flies are also known as phorid flies or humpback flies. Like drain flies, they often breed and drains, so the same treatment that works for drain flies will also help with the scuttle flies. The thing about scuttle flies though is that you'll often find them in other areas as well, such as potted plants. They're attracted to moisture, and like all flies, they like to feed off rotting organic matter. So, it is common to see them around drains, potted plants, trash cans, litter boxes, spoiled food, leaky pipes, and that sort of thing. Make sure that you do not have any leaking pipes. Thoroughly wash trash cans and keep litter boxes empty of all feces. It is a good idea to clean the litter box really well and then refill it. Make sure that you have no spoiled food laying around. It's a good idea to keep all food in sealed containers. If you have potted plants, you can try lightly spraying Raid and Roach Killer on the soil only, being careful not to get it directly on the plant. This should kill the larvae because the product has a pretty good residual. If you find this is causing the plant any distress, then stop using it and switch to Raid House and Garden Insect Killer. This product does not have a residual, so you would need to apply it twice a day. Once in the morning and once in the evening, every day until the problem is resolved. This way you will be killing the adult flies as they emerge, so they won't be able to lay anymore eggs. This species undergoes complete metamorphosis and the larval stage can last 1 to 2 weeks, up to several months. That means, if you are treating with Raid House and Garden Insect Killer, then you may need to do this for several months. If you would like to throw a bit more money at it, you can buy a commercial insect growth regulator and apply that to the soil. IGRs are a bit pricey, so I would try the Raid Ant and Roach Killer first. If the plants tolerate it, then it's a very inexpensive way to go. If you have any areas outside where flies may be breeding, then you need to clean that up as well. A common place for the problem to be festering is in trash cans. If you see flies around the trash cans, then wash the cans really well and spray the inside of the trash can with Raid Ant and Roach Killer. The key to any fly problem is to find where they are breeding and then eliminate it.
      I hope that helps. Be well my friend.

    • @GuysPestSolutions
      @GuysPestSolutions  Před 15 dny +1

      @@marvamclendon5042 Normally, you never need to do it more than two nights in a row. The Raid won't hurt anything if you do it day after day, but if it isn't working after 2 days, then that drain is most likely not the problem. In bathrooms, the problem may be a leaky closet seal under the toilet. This will allow the flies to come out from where the toilet meets the floor. Also, if you have a drain that isn't used the water in the trap can evaporate and let the fly's escape, so make sure you pour water in unused drains at least once a month. If you have house plants, you could be fungus gnats or something like that. So again, if you treat the drains 2 nights in a row and you still have the problem, then there is most likely something else going one. The most common problem is the closet seal under the toilet. You should replace the seal, but a temporary fix is to force plumber's putting in the gap between the floor and the toilet. It's like Play-Doh, so you can mold it into any shape you want and then scrape off the excess to make a neat job. • @GuysPestSolutions
      @GuysPestSolutions  Před 3 měsíci

      Gnats are not the same thing as drain flies or fruit flies. Gnats are more of an outside pest. If the pest controller treated the drains, then these are most likely drain flies. The reason his treatment didn't work is explained in the video. Nothing you pour down the drain is going to work. You must use an aerosol spray that has a fast knock down and a residual. That is why I use Raid Ant and Roach Killer. Any ant and roach killer brand will most likely do the trick too. The aerosol spray will cover all the surfaces in the pipe and that will also cover the gunk in the pipe. This will kill the adults as well as the eggs and larvae. The residual will work overnight to get the job done. Sadly, even pest controllers do not know about this trick. I don't know why they haven't figured it out, but they keep pouring stuff down the drains and it keeps missing the gunk where the flies are breeding. It seems like common sense to me and it works every time. There is no magic to it. If you understand the biology of the flies, it's a no brainer. I hope that helps. Be well my friend.

    • @GuysPestSolutions
      @GuysPestSolutions  Před 6 měsíci

      It is somewhat unusual to have drain flies coming from under the dishwasher and the stove, but it can happen. The thing to remember about drain flies is that they need a place to breed. So, if they are coming from under the dishwasher, then there must be some sort of material under there that they are using for breeding purposes. Unfortunately, that will necessitate that you need to remove the dishwasher and investigate to see where they are breeding. It is possible that the discharge hose from the dishwasher may be leaking, and that sort of thing. This would be a situation that you would need to correct anyway, so it would be wise to pull that dishwasher and have a look to see what's going on. It would be the same for the stove. You need to pull that stove away from the wall and investigate further to see where the flies are breeding. Again, they need some sort of food, sludge, or build up in order to breed. So, you want to make sure that the stove is clean, and you want to make sure that you check under the burners and that sort of thing, to make sure that everything is nice and clean. There may be grease spills or food that dropped down the side of the stove or something that or got kicked under the stove, so you do need to move the stove and see what's going on. After you locate the breeding area, then the best way to treat it is to clean it.
      I am so sorry that I do not have a 3 second fix for this particular problem, but not all pest problems are so easy to take care of. I wish you well with it. Be well my friend.

    I’ll be trying this method tonight, just one question, do I need to spray inside the overflow hole also in my bathroom sinks?

    • @GuysPestSolutions
      @GuysPestSolutions  Před 10 měsíci

      Great question. I always do it, even though it is unlikely that the flies are breeding in there. They need the drain sludge to breed and there usually isn't any in the overflow. Still, it can't hurt to shoot some in there, so I do it. Be well my friend.

    Could you do a video covering flea infestation outside and inside?

    • @GuysPestSolutions
      @GuysPestSolutions  Před rokem

      I will put that on my list of videos that I need to do. Thanks for the suggestions. Meanwhile, let me explain how to take care of it.
      To rid your home of fleas, the first thing you need to do is to vacuum all the upholstered furniture and pet bedding, paying particular attention two places where fleas can hide, like behind cushions. Next, vacuum the floor throughout the house. If you have a vacuum with a disposable bag, then discard the bag outside in the trash. If you have a vacuum with a reusable canister, empty it outside in the trash and then wash it out with the garden hose before bringing it back in the house. Wash all bed linens and pet bedding in your washing machine and dry on high heat. Next, spray a pesticide that is labeled for fleas, on all the floors and on areas of upholstered furniture that does not come in contact with people or pets. To treat floors, hold the can at arm’s length and make sweeping motions across the floor to cover all surfaces. For upholstered furniture, you should spray under the cushions and then any folds that there are. The product that I like best is called PT Ultracide. I will give you a link for it. Fleas can be hard to kill, so you may need to do this treatment every two weeks until the problem is solved. If you have pets, then you should treat them as recommended by your vet. The reason fleas got into the house in the first place is because they are outside. If you have a flea problem outside, then there is a good chance you will end up with a flea problem inside. Even if you don't have pets, the fleas will still jump on you when you are outside, and so you can carry them in. Therefore, you need to treat the outside as well. I do this with a hose end sprayer. I will give you a link to my video on how to do that. I find that treating the yard every 60 days seems to do the trick.

      I hope that helps. Be well my friend.

We have been bug free for 6 months! Saved alot of money and cant thank you enough! We live on the alabama/ florida line. Cant belive how people pay for pest control or just live with them. I'm going to put this in with it. Thank You Again!!

    We are on a septic system. We have continued to struggle with drain flies, thus me finding (and liking) your video. I plan to follow your Raid advice in all my drains. We also plan to drain water to fill the traps in those we don't use often that may be dry. Question; do you think I'll mess up the septic system process if I spray seven drains? I'd imagine I'll start on the drain where we see them most often and then space out the rest over time. Do you think that will work?

    • @GuysPestSolutions
      @GuysPestSolutions  Před 10 měsíci +1

      The Raid will have no ill effect on the pipes or the septic system. You should treat all the drains at the same time because the flies can travel from one drain to another. You don't want them to reinfest the drain you already treated.
      Sorry for the delay in answering this. I just now saw it. Be well my friend.

      @@GuysPestSolutions I took a flyer and tried it on the two worst drains and sprayed some house plants where we have seen the little pests. It sure works and nothing bad has happened. Thanks. I'll catch all the drains in unison next time I see one flying about.

      Pour some oil into drains you use infrequently. This will slow the evaporation of the water. Good luck.

    I have another question. I know what you said about the Raid not being dangerous to spray down your drain due to getting mixed with thousands of gallons of water, but what about if you have a septic tank? Can the Raid mess up my septic tank? Thanks for any info. I've Googled this but like with everything, there are people on both sides of the fence.

    • @GuysPestSolutions
      @GuysPestSolutions  Před 10 měsíci

      The Raid will not harm the septic tank. I have a septic tank and I do it periodically. I usually get fruit flies a couple of times a year. The moment I see any at all, I treat all the drains before I go to bed. It's fast, easy, and effective. I hope that helps. Be well my friend.
