Scotty, would you believe anyone who says they never replaced their ATF like say...at 150,000 or 200,000 miles or even 300,000 miles?
Why do you say Corolla 2012 when 2013 was the last model for that generation? Isn't the last model supposed to be perfect? It basically is the same car as the 2012 with little addition.
Bro, you look EXACTLY like Nathan from Southpark
Hey Scotty, I own a 2001 Toyota Sequoia with 238k Miles. It has a P0770 code for a shift solenoid that has been popping up. I have had the transmission serviced (changed the fluid, changed the trans filter, and the solenoids) I had two different transmission mechanics drive the vehicle and they said it shifted perfect. Any idea what can still be wrong?

I still currently have my 1994 Toyota Corolla. I'm at 235,000+ miles & it still runs great. Same engine & transmission. I got it 11 years ago for $2k cash & it hasn't given me any major problems. I just needed it to get me through college but it succeeded my expectations. I replace the battery, tires, and oil changes on a regular basis. It's truly a gem. I have no idea when it's gonna die on me, but I plan on keeping it until it does. At that, point I will purchase my first brand new car, more than likely another Toyota. It's funny because me & my car are both the same age đ. I guess 1994 was a special year for Toyota â€ïž

My 2000 Toyota Corolla is my beater! Currently at 318,000 miles and its never had a major repair! My biggest expenses with it have been 6 sets of tires, new brake pads and multiple windshield wipers :) I've owned it since it was new and always changed the oil every 5000 miles. I use a computer program Automotive Wolf that monitors the maintenance schedule, repairs, fuel usage and other expenses and calculates the cost to operate the vehicle. My Corolla is at $ 0.06 per mile! My Ford truck is at $1.20 per mile :(
How much was the computer
I heard someone say he's not selling his car even if 1 million miles
Remember not to stay plugged into the diagnostic port. Itâs not designed for that

I bought a 2009 Chevy Cobalt brand new off of the lot. I needed a 4 cylinder because I changed work locations and was driving 160 miles a day to work. I gave it to my son while he was in college and he still owns it. Now it has 220,000 miles on it and the only work done on it has been oil changes and accessory belt replacement.

My mother has a 2012 Accord with the V6. Itâs an absolute joy to drive. It sounds good, revs high, the suspension is firm without compromising the ride quality, no understeer at all and the steering weights up beautifully during cornering. I love that thing and Iâm considering buying it off her when she gets her next car (which will he another accord lol).
Nice I got a 2012 Honda Accord four-cylinder last month and it runs really great and Iâm glad I purchased it for as my first car

I've been with my mechanic husband since 1985. I can tell you that we have never owned a new car. Normally our cars are from auctions or somewhere really cheap, fixed by him from junkyard parts and fixed just enough to run, no frills. He doesn't like working for free. He works at his "normal" job and always has side work after. His phone rings at all hours 24/7, 365. I hate it. People call on holidays, you name it. No one cares that he might have a life, a family. He lets people get by without paying and most never end up never paying and then want help again. Grrrr He has a hard time saying no. I would at least like them to pay for their parts since most of the time I have to pay for them and go get them from the parts store. Anyway, the point is, you can't go by what a mechanic drives. Ironically, my husband is a Lead Master Subaru Tech. lol My parents both own Subarus and my husband drives one. I don't. Maybe sometime we'll find a beater one cheap enough for me. lol Have you never heard the saying that the plumber has the leakiest pipes in town? Guys that fix stuff don't want to work on their own stuff at home. It's just the nature of the beast and they sure don't want to spend money on the new stuff 'cause they know how much of a waste it is.
My car was on that list. Where all my Accord people at? :D

Bought my 2012 Honda Accord last month, love the car. Very roomy, descent power, very reliable.
Scotty, when I was selling used cars, and someone was looking at two cars, different brands, say Chrysler n Accord, same mileage, customer would likely ask, "why is the Accord so much more $$$?" Answer: "when u buy any car, new or used, all you r buying is UNUSED MILES, the Accord costs more because it has 200,000 miles left in it, the Chrysler is just about toast." That comment sold a lot of Toyotas and Hondas.
I learned something new today, thanks

This channel is on reliability, easy maintanance and low cost. Nowadays are complex and not easy to work on. Toyota scores well, but it is because we don't rember how an old Merc w123 or old Volvo was. You paid more and got durability. Nowadays cars are tailored to a world market and part of the world demands cars that are disposibles. I support old world quality.

As scotty said, some of the Accords had issues. But historically they have been quite reliable (prior to 2010 I'd say). The Civic's have usually been pretty good (the late 80's to late 1990's before the redesign in 2001, were the best IMO--I've seen a lot of those go 300-350k. I have a 2005 Honda Accord with a manual transmission that has over 500,000 miles. It still runs perfectly
That's over 35k mills per year. Where the heck are you driving?

My 04 accord has 255xxx miles and god dam.Does it still hold up
Bought a 2009 Honda Accord Coupe V6, 5 years ago for $5 K. Now over 200k. Runs like new. I feel incredibly blessed. Checked the Carfax first. Timing chain replaced already etc. Good luck out there.
Honda accord, specifically the 02, they are invincible, I've gotten by with zero issues for 3 years on a 800 dollar auction junker with regular oil changes
I agree i had one only thing i changed was my ac converter , everything else was just spark plugs n oil change . lil over 250,000 miles same transmission road perfect. Then my bro wrecked it lol.
I have a colleague with an 02 Accord. 350,000 miles. Up here in Yankee land he's constantly battling rust.
Never had any other problems.
that is so true... im 13 so idk too much but my dad has an 02 accord and its got 217k miles on it still running perfectly, the only real issue its ever had were the catalytic converters went bad and even then its really not that bad but the only annoying thing was it was a car originally bought in califironia so it had the california grade converters so my dad had to get the replacement shipped down to texas from cali but other than that there have been no big issues with the car
@@donovan7434 same here, California emissions car, the evap system is shooting a code but they dont affect how the car runs
@@jamallabarge2665 I'm in Massachusetts, there is no rust except a bit on the front end, exceptionally built car
The more I listen to this guy the more I like...he knows his stuff but most of all he comes across as very honest and he makes me laugh nice guy.
Scotty the number 1 is the 2012 Toyota Camry not the 2011
Toyota Camry number 1 is fr 8 / 2012 to 2017

Love your attitude! So uplifting! You help me think twice! đ„°đ„°
I came for the used car reviews, I subscribed for Scotty. Love this guy's personality
Scotty, can you make a video of the TOP 5 USED TRUCKS TO BUY
THANKS
And top 5 cuv/SUV
This would be so helpful!! I'm looking to get a new suv but don't know much about
You asked the question for me !
Just buy an f-150 đ
Yeah, best 5 pickup trucks, best 5 SUV type vehicles, and maybe best 5 AWD/4WD vehicles.
My 2007 V6 Accord sedan has 240,000 miles and bought it new back in the day. My first new car. Still my daily commuter 50 miles a day in jammed packed city traffic. Itâs still my baby and I could never sell it, ever!
Auto? 03-07 v6 ones had troublesome transmissions, the i4âs were fine though.
honda accord 2.2 icdti 2005 diesel 330000 without any engine repairing, still good and fresh
the 8th gens are better
m p - itâs an auto. No issues. Iâm still driving around with the original factory floor timing belt!!! Lol. Never changed it yet. Probably change it this spring, if it doesnât blow up.
refineme me too, 330 000 without replacement. Someone told me that after replacement it can go worse
I love the honesty and care for us other people and It gives me hope that some humanity out there still cares about you.

Honda civics are amazing. You want a reliable easy car? BOOM wanna fix it up and destroy mustangs in the quarter mile BOOM. The engine swaps are also endless. B16 B20 K20 ive even seen them LS swapped
Folks, enjoy and appreciate these videos from a straight talker like Scotty while you can before they might disappear for some shady reasons in the future.
Still driving a 2001 Corolla, 227K miles, still running great!
I miss my 2010 Camry đ Did delivery for two years in that thing until someone hit me. Great video đ New subscriber here đ
My dad has a 2011 Toyota Camry XLE V6 and the thing is indestructible. At 103,000 miles, the alternator broke but he was still able to drive his car home in 5 degree weather with snow everywhere. Heâs taken good care of it so Iâm happy itâs the 1st pick. Itâs super comfortable and does what a car does best, start up and drive. Alternator has been the only real major thing heâs had to replace yet, I tell you, you canât kill a Toyota, theyâre a tank in disguise. đ€·đœââïž
Yes! I have owned a lot of Toyota and Lexus cars! Will only buy their cars and support them forever!
I have 11 XLE V6. They are a Beast!
My sister still has a Toyota FJ cruiser with well over 400,000 miles on it... yesterday we ran errands in it, I was amazed how great it looks, drives and rides as she has taken such good care of it. I felt like I was sitting in an almost new car!!! Too bad they discontinued it.
Agreed the FJs were amazing. The new Rav4s are at least similar on the exterior design which I love.
Wow! How much did it cost? I love that vehicle
How much was it?
This man is 100% right when we were saving to buy our house here in Australia we sold our expensive 4x4s and SUVs and bought a Toyota Camry and Toyota corolla as around the world they are voted as the two most reliable car's ever built. We still have the Camry and we bought a new Toyota Hilux and they are brilliant car's!
My 2011 Camry has 185,5xx on it and has needed nothing but oil, brakes, tires, etc like everything else. Nothing has worn out or given me any problems. I love it, and I plan on continuing to love it for multiple more years.
blonds or brunettes?
Scotty: 1994 Toyota Celica
How about red -heads?
@@sheresastubbs9408 I see you like the accords too, as do I. 3.5L V6, manual transmission SOHC NA VTEC engine. Will outlive me, and I'm not exactly old.
Iâd stay away from blondes...too high maintenance. And when you turn them upside down, all you have is a brunette with bad breath.

Nathan Lewis but who can fix it?

I would love to see what would blow it up.
I'll bring the bleach
Cam phasers go out like the Fords. Otherwise just normal maintenance. Because of the pricepoint Toyotas usually actually get serviced but I've gotten to watch an old pickup spatter the bottom end on the highway.
Thank you Scotty. I have a 2011 Camry LE 4. Only 31,789 actual miles, always garage kept. đ

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! As a computer engineer that makes me almost die of laughter.
I bought the HP Pro book 4320s back in 2010, and it only broke down in 2020....so durable...
Haha true I bought 3 HP laptops they all died in one year đđđđ.
My HP DV6 lasted 12 years! Worth every cent!
I Have HP Pavilion G6 in 2012 and it is still alive only the battery was replaced. So HP is really reliable.
I had an Hp, but it had a constant overheating issue, eventually it got so hot that it burned up the graphics card. Never again. đ

@@vincecarlo absolutely, just bought a 2011 accord V6. The car ran perfectly and got it checked with a mechanic too. Apparently I tried to start it yesterday and it won't start, probably cuz the weather dropped to -25c, probably going to jumpstart it and check for the battery life, lmk if you've got any other tips with this problem?
