Much appreciate the confirmation that this works for this year & drivetrain. Btw for key cutting in my case I called a local dealership's parts dept and they cut for free, just need to have the key code for them (or required docs for if they need to pull it from Mazda)
I lost the one key I had for a couple weeks. Someone found it ran over but still intact. I just got a copy cut and programmed at Ace hardware today for $79.99. I talked them into cutting another key i purchased for about $15. Im going to try this now so i don't have to pay that high price ever again.
Looks simple enough but it doesn't work for me. I have two working keys (not sure if these are original since I bought the car used) and trying to program the third key. After putting the third key in, the lock/theft symbol blinks and never goes away. I got my key from ebay that came with the fob. I programmed the fob and it works fine for locking/unlocking.
I've just done this, the timing is important. If you wait too long it doesnt work. Also did your ebay key come with a transponder installed ? You need to have a blank 4D63 transponder inside the third key for this method to work.
@@Tech-49 Timing like it has to be done really quick? My key does come with a transponder, but I'm not sure if it's 4D63 though. Maybe I'll give it another try. This will be my 5th or 6th time 🙂

Can you 1 original key twice then the key you want to copy
