FYI, you can program a new key with a single programmed key, but you'll need a computer (preferably a laptop) with FORScan installed and a modified OBD2 ELM327 my advice is join Ford enthusiast groups in your area, one of the members will probably have the equipment and do it for free
Hi there. Great job! I've a question. Where did you cut it? I went to minute key in Loew's, they can't do it. Walmart did it wrong, that can't open the door
Where did you order the key? I’m looking for one and trying to find a good vendor that I won’t waste my money with. I’ve also got. 2012 Mazda 3 (not a speed3 sadly)
I'm looking to program a family member's Mazda with a single key too; I have a 2008 Focus and the method is the same (Ford method tested multiple times and worked) but I believe you need two original programmed keys. The reason being is the car's computer recognizes that you, being the original owner of two keys, is going to add a spare key and it requires two different factory keys to tell the car you are the owner and want to add a key. The only other way is to have a dealer or locksmith with a programming OBD2 tablet to manually tell the car you are adding a (second) key. I guess it's theft prevention like if a Valet copies your key. Why it's a big deal I don't know, today any car computer can be tracked from anywhere like google can track you by your phone.
So I only need 5o get the key cut and I can program it with my car? Sweeeeeet, I've alrdy programmed for the doors, didn't know about that insert 5s trick. Cheers!! About to save me couple hundred lol
This technique didn't work for my 2012 Mazda 3 SkyActive. I wonder if my keys are clone of each other. But I bought my car from a dealer as a Mazda certified used car, so the keys should be original.
channel168 as the dealer has told me when doing this, you need two factory keys. Truly I didn’t understand why, but I attempted to program another key using the reprogrammed key it it didn’t work. Another reason it may have not worked could be due in part of the vehicle keys have been exceeded. You can only program a certain amount of keys to a car until the old keys are removed from the ecu. I use this key that I programmed as the valet key when I use valet services. My Mazda is a 2012 Mazda 3 I Skyactiv
Dude it worked!!!! Thank you sir! Funny cause it was so easy and u were so shocked that I almost thought u were trolling….but it worked! So easy FYI, this programs the transponder chip, not the lock buttons on the blade fob. in order to program the lock buttons, u need to do a series of key on/off and open/close door and it programs the buttons….google it
What if you have only 1 key?
Good question, maybe do it twice with the same key 🤔
I’m also interested in the one key programing.
Mate !!!! It has worked PERFECTLY for me. Thank you very much for your video.
Thank you for the video! Going to try when I order some keys for my relative's car.

We’re your flip keys not starting the car?
Can you do the program with only one good key
will this work if I have only one programmed key?
Brenda Akapo I haven’t given it a go yet, I’m waiting for a new flip key to program. Maybe I can give it a go with the one key or find something.
@@Alexa_Spencer I have only one key too, please try and let us know

What if you have lost all keys? I was quoted at $490 for a transponder key for my 2001 Mazda Miata! I don't have the money!

I cut keys at Hone Depot as a job . I am a vendor. They all know how to cut keys. Sometimes they just don't want to do it.
