It's probably not different from the green one. It wan't the poral fluid that made Morty able to travel outside the finite curve it was rift created by the citadels engine.

When you said that this fluid in the gun needs some extra secret ingredient the first thing that came to my mind was not the dark matter but exotic matter. In order to keep the wormhole open, you need exotic matter (even if you created a tunnel, gravity would eventually close it). For instance tachyons (and they are also linked to the speed). However, they can be really complicated in understanding because of their weird properties such as negative mass.

@@chaosmastermind what happens is when each Rick has the ability to do Inter-dimensional travel they assign their own dimensional name /code or whatever it is, when there is infinite Ricks and Mortys then (as Rick said) “a 100% chance of everything happening” so there is a 100% chance that each dimension will get there own unique code/name. Also want to point out that infinite is not a number but an expression of how big that something or someone is.

I mean the really impressive thing about the portal gun in my opinion is the data processing. If there are infinite universes, then it's gonna take a lotta processing power to find a useful dimension which we see Rick doing many times not just picking a random universe or one that he knows of but instead filtering to find one useful. Which considering that he's already filtering the universes he's going to solves for the issue of different laws of physics that evaporate him because, ya know, filtering to open to only safe universes. Although anything infinite causes some problems in other areas.

I feel like the whole concentrated dark matter theory behind Rick's portal gun and as the source of energy for interdimensional travel is just a ploy Rick uses to mask the actual source behind his creation. There was a part in S1E4 where when asked about him actually having the formula for concentrating dark matter he replies almost nonchalantly, and seemingly sarcastic, as if he doesn't actually have the formula and pretends to, in order to divert others attention from the actual source.
But hey an argument could be made that he was just trying to lead on the Aliens in order to have them blow up their ship with the 'fake' formula. Just a theory i suppose.
No offense but the entire point of the ending of that episode was that Rick fooled the aliens so they would blow themselves up
