Moondrop really dropped the ball on the Starfield 2, IMO. The treble is ridiculously bright. The whole sound signature is disjointed sounding. The popcorn fart bass doesn't help things either.
Also, the Stellaris is a planar, the Starfield 2 is a single DD.
That explains a lot. I stand corrected, thank you. Thanks the education. Your description is mint. XD
@Jaytiss Moondrop really screwed things up by using similar blue color schemes and names (Stellaris - Starfield) for those releases. It confused everybody, as did the tuning choices. Unfortunately, the Stellaris is just as bad, if not worse, than the Starfield 2.
yeah, I feel they had a good run, but upset a lot of fans with this release.
@@Jaytiss I agree. They had a long run of really polarizing releases (Starfield 2, Stellaris, Blessing 2 & 3, Chu, Lan, and the S8). They really fell in love with ultra boosted upper mids and treble. This pushed away a lot of fans of their previous releases that were much more balanced.
Ya the Stellaris is something very unique 😅 At least I can say I tried it
We appreciate your review.☺
❤️
Great review jay. Although I like the looks, they seem so bright.
❤️
The OG Starfield was one of my first iems and i really liked it. It started me down the rabbit hole and im sad to see the Starfield 2 isn't so great. Oh well. Plenty more iems out there! 😁
Fair enough! 100%
Jaytiss: The IEM world is kind of crazy... There are guys with hundreds and thousands of IEMs
Jaytiss from the future: I can't believe I was talking about myself.
Thanks for the honest review. Starfield 2 never reached the stars.
Pretty much this.
Another one!!!!
I remember a couple years ago the of aria and starfield were getting great reviews and recommendations by quite a few big reviewers. What the hell happened to moondrop recently lol.
❤️
The Starfield II has a single DD driver and not a planar driver. Perhaps you were thinking of the Stellaris? I agree with others that Moondrop kind of dropped the ball with the Starfield II. Yet there are users who like the overly bright treble and the recessed bass. Personally, I prefer my OG Starfield which I occasionally do listen to since it was my first IEM.
You’re correct! My bad.
@@Jaytiss No big deal at all. I love your videos and your relaxed reviewing style.
❤️
Lets Talk about it!
"SHE'S NOT A CHILD! SHE'S 3000 YEARS OLD!" -weebs probably
ROFL!
I have yet to hear any iem reviewer recommend this set. Folks - it’s terrible.
I haven't heard anyone love it.
I have been thinking about getting the Aria2 or SE just to try a Moondrop iem but anything with ear shredding treble is unthinkable 😆.
@@j.w.s.743 The Aria 2 isn't bad. Its biggest selling points are the accessories which come with it. There are other better IEMs around this price point.
Great review but definitely not for me. Cheers..!
Thanks for watching!
