    Great headphones, sound majestic with HDV820. They sound better than HD800S and better than all competitors on the market. But there is two problems that I have encountered, for three years of use, the right membrane has crumpled against the protective grille in the form of a spinner. Now on recordings with increased load, can hear the crackle of the right speaker. If you are going to release a new generation of HD900 headphones, first of all, rid the "Ring Radiator" speaker of this disadvantage. And yes, the best endurance test of any speaker system and headphones is Blade Runner 2049: Sea Wall, Flight to LAPD, Joi. Create your top products based on this. In terms of endurance and reliability, the Sony Z1R is ahead of the HD820. I also don't like that on the HD820 the Sennheiser logo on the side panel L/R is just a sticker, it has come off. I had to buy and change this part from a dealer. For headphones for such a price, this is unacceptable. For comparison, the Focal Clear Mg headphones have a logo made of solid material and it is reliable. Replace this plastic and sticker with an all-metal part in new versions. I hope you will hear my words and wishes for improving this and future Sennheiser headphones.

      I miss my Sony Z1R at times. Such a solid closed-back.

      I haven't HD820s but It seems the clamping force is too low and so It's hard to get a proper seal to have a good bass response, is that the case with you too? I've seen It in others having HD820.

    why make a video now? This thing has been out for a long time. I am surprised that Sennheiser hasn't make HD820S yet.

      Good point. I saw this in my feed and I was like...is this 2018? Only if they did a re-release with some tuning tweaks, then I would understand.

      Can’t say why 🤷‍♂️… but personally I think this is the kind of video that would have let people give the HD 820 a chance instead of writing it off.
      For me, the HD 820 was a bit more fun and versatile variant of the HD 800S, and one of the crispest and most “natural” sounding closed back headphones I’ve heard. No bass bleed, no honky bass.

    • @EricPalonen
      @EricPalonen Před 2 lety +4

      Hey Allan - That's me in the video 👋I slept on the HD 820 for a long time, never giving it more than 15 minutes of listening. There wasn't a lot of info out there about the systems it uses to turn the closed headphone experience inside out. I knew there was something special there and that it deserved more time on the noggin. I hope this helps bring viewers and people researching it/considering it a little closer as they do their own research. Cheers!

    Did you find any way to increase clamping force on them? Many said they don't clamp enough to isolate well..

    • @evshrug
      @evshrug Před 2 lety +4

      I have a pair too… personally, they fit me well and I get good isolation, and these ought to fit you well if the HD 800S fits you. But like Eric said in the video: the seal improves as you listen to them. The pads are thicker than the open-backed HD 800S, and as they relax and squish with time, they mold to your face.
      My only caveat with this headphone is that you need to play around with placement the first time you listen to them. For me, a centered placement was a little too dry and flat for my liking… but off center, there was a sweet spot with a fuller low end and a richer timbre, at that point sounding like a warmer, sweeter HD 800S. Once you find that “sweet spot” and get used to the fit that way, you’ll quickly adjust to finding that spot by habit.

    • @EricPalonen
      @EricPalonen Před 2 lety +2

      @@jimis3167 It depends on how loud you listen and who is judging leakage 😉 (a significant other has a much different dB weighting scale LOL). It's night and day versus open headphones-dramatic reduction. The amount of leakage usually goes like this: in-ear < closed-back on/around the ear < open

      @@jimis3167 Very loud. He's also wearing a hat, which can interrupt the seal. Bigger question: are you listening next to someone else? If not, the sound on the inside of the cups is what matters most ;) If so, and at a nominal level, its a big improvement over open models.

    After loading the headphones i tried to pair them but the left headphone does not turn on. even if I long press to pair it the right one does.
    I cleaned the contacts and put them back in the case and let them charge but the left one does not work.
    Even the same application tells me that only one headset is connected.
    I've already sent two requests without getting a reply, I don't know who to turn to anymore, it's incredible that a prestigious brand like yours is completely ignoring one of your customers.
