Hi. I've had the 599SE for about 25 days and decide to try the 560S because I saw the reviews saying they're far better. And I agree, so I'm returning the 599SE. However, now I'm thinking of really stretching out and getting one of the HD 600 series (probably the 600 or maybe even the 650). My main concern is my digital piano (although I will use the headphones for daily tasks on my PC, which is my main entertainment device). It's absolutely top of the range hybrid piano and has good Onkyo amplifiers inside, so I could really tell the improvement going form the 599SE to the 560S. With that in mind, in your experience, if I stretch to the 600 series will I notice a significant improvement/difference? The most important aspect to me is that the piano sounds as natural as possible (the way that the included VST was designed to sound by the Kawai/Onkyo engineers), without the headphones being too tiring if I'm practicing many hours a day. Thank you!

    • @ClintAvila
      @ClintAvila Před rokem

@@zvelekva The 560S is a darn good headphone. It's detailed, balanced and very flexible (easy) to drive. When I listen back to back with my HD6XX and HD660S there is a noticeable improvement in the size of the sound image with the 6 series. They sound richer and more full overall. As far as piano in particular I do think the 6 series provide a more enjoyable tone due the magical mid range the 6 series is know for. An example I can use is Tori Amos whose main instrument is the piano. Listening on the 560S everything is clean and balanced. But when I switch to the HD6XX her voice and music just sound elevated, sweeter and more engaging. More like a live performance. They are so easy crank and not feel fatigue from the extra volume. Moving to the HD660S provides even more detail along with the elevated sound although some of the "sweetness" goes away. At this point I'm excited to try the new HD660S2 but I'm going to wait until the price comes down a bit. I think you have a solid sound with the HD560S and many find it to be there endgame. Having said that the HD6XX is capable of delivering an even better experience when amplified well for not much more money. HD6XX for the win. There's a reason this ancient headphone is still being made. 😁

HD600 maybe yes. But the others are more for listening music and all round usage. They are a bit colored. For studio usage I'd more look got the Beyer dynamics DT1990 with better detail in the highs. HD600 series is very mid range focussed. Great for vocals and although very detailed in comparison to some other cans not extraordinary at that. My HD660s aren't neutral either. They need some equalization to remove a bit of veil over the sound. Beyers DT1990 will serve this purpose better.

    Really good video,
I've been criticizing your consumer audio department sell move for a while, but all I would like to see is a proper clarification. Who's manufacturing ? Overseeing? QC'ing? etc.
Because these questions weren't given proper clarification, I just think you need to reassure EVERYONE, or not (Idk how things are, and everyone sure would like to know, should we still buy the products we loved? Has anything changed in the assembly line? Raw materials provenience? workers? etc... ) You have a huge following, and this was in my and many people's opinion a sad move. But maybe it wasn't as sad as we are thinking, if literally nothing else changed but who's getting the money for the sells, but the problem is, YOU DIDN'T ADDRESS IT MORE THAN THAT.
I'm just trying to help you. Because the one of the best audio brands in the world just gave up on their most idolized segment.
I don't know if you know, but you can imagine your company as a famous artist. WE NEED IT, and if something happens to it, WE WANT FULL TRANSPARENCY.
That's all I was ever trying to say. I'm I selfish? Sure. But I lost my favorite company products and I don't even know to what extent you know?

      I FEEL your passion!
Sennheiser did a press release, Head-Fi Post, and even a video interview between DMS and representatives of Sennheiser Consumer and Sonova.
Essentially, Sennheiser’s consumer division had hit a plateau, and was looking to grow and wanted some help to invest back into the business. At the same time, Sonova had a good medical hearing products business, and was looking for a ready-made solution to enter the consumer business. It was a great match for both companies because Sonova gets to enjoy the experienced engineers, mangers, assembly workers, and advanced facilities of Sennheiser, while Sennheiser found a partner that respected their heritage and direction that had already been mapped out (like the recent releases of the HD 560S, IE 300, and IE 900). Both companies are excited to continue production of classic models and the extra resources to make new consumer goods… and I mean the employees too, like the Irish facility in Tullamore that has been employing locals to produce flagship headphones and components for Sennheiser since the 90’s. Some consumer production had briefly been moved to Romania to be manufactured and assembled alongside the Pro products (the drivers still came from Ireland), but now consumer is back in the factory that was built for it. Engineers and portfolio managers are still constantly tinkering away and testing in Germany, and the three or so QC checks performed on each unit is still performed by the same people (Sennheiser has been producing Instagram Reels lately showing assembly and QC, which is cool for me because I’ve never been to Ireland myself).
If anything, all that sounds like positive news to me, more security that we will continue getting the classics as well as pushing to create new goodies.

DMS is actually a company rep for a competitor, Abyss Audio, so it’s a very third party host interviewing the Sennheiser and Sonova reps 😂

The HD 600 Series is and has been for years manufactured in a Sennheiser owned facility in Tullamore, Ireland. This includes transducer manufacture and final assembly of the headphones. The transducers are computer tested individually to reference specification, then once assembled the headphones are also computer tested against reference performance parameters to insure they are meeting specification before they are packaged.

Which model of Sennheiser HD series headset should I choose to comfortably hear my opponents and listen to music while playing FPS games? My budget is $500. I've used the HD 700 before and it was great in games. HD 800 series is very expensive, please do not recommend.

For me the HD600 are looking and feeling really cheap for its price. I came from a Fidelio X2. Their build quality, look and feel matches far more with its MSRP than the Sennheiser.
I also didn't liked its original sound, but thanks to Brainwavz, I was able to improve the sound and give it a little bit more volume.

Here is a free tip: HD 400 PRO same sound character as HD650, but lighter and more affordable (249€)
    You're Welcome!

I‘ve read everywhere that the HD 400 Pro sounds the same as the HD 560S, not the HD 650 (which I own btw). According to this youtuber, Sennheiser themselves have confirmed that: czcams.com/video/NJf0HkmIdq8/video.html

In today’s market, it’s not worth getting entry level headphones that require a desktop source.
