    in my experience, 90% of instructional vids on youtube are worthless. this is one of the best i've seen. detailed yet accessible, well illustrated, great presentation. watched it and i just want to try to learn all the moves. thanks for making me better in 9 minutes than i would on my own over 9 days. will watch more and am glad i probably won't see you in the skies anytime soon. (10 rank with 1 level 3 plane so far).

    IDK if this would still be an Immelman but you could roll in the climbing part and end up facing any way you want.

    hint immelmann turn is not what he said its a ww1 tactic where someones on your tail you do a loop ( full loop) the attack pull up half turn dive down and shoot at the enemy

    Could you show this in a less OP and bias plane? Yak's are insanely OP and fly so unrealistically its laughable. You lose almost no energy when you turn, you turn stupid sharp, and its climb rate is unrealistic, ontop of that, the gun is nearly a 1 shot wonder.
    Do this in a Bf 109. The fact you're doing it so easy in a Russian plane contests to how absurdly unrealistic this game is (plus its arcade, so the whole BnZ thing doesn't even comply, since all planes have nearly the same FM's).
    Now none of this is your fault CrouchingWalrus, its a great video, but to show it in its proper form, and in a situation that's more realistic (such as realistic battles or Simulator), where BnZ actually matters. Arcade it doesn't and does nothing to give you a benefit unlike Realistic Battles where you can see a huge difference in both FM's, and energy retention.
    I'd suggest doing it in a plane that also take at least 1% skill to fly, like a German or American plane. Using a plane that already has everything unrealistically heightened on it, and ridiculous bonus's isn't a good form of teaching all in all, because if an American or German were to try this, they'd quickly find themselves cursing the screen and you when it doesn't work, because it's not nearly as easy as you portray it to be in an arcade setting with super unrealistic FM's, and a plane that's so OP it's a joke.

      Russian planes generally aren't over-powered. It's a myth that Russian planes get leniency because of bias when the developers are constructing their flight models.
      Besides, I do have a realistic battles ACM series:
      czcams.com/play/PL6uk3Fvbm9rZ_o8mXGisL_VgJdipaDMik.html
      In addition, none of my Art of the Dogfight series episodes are done using Russian planes. Three out of four of them are done with German/Italian planes.

      Eternally Angelic Which Yak you're talking about counts. If you are talking about what he is using, it turns as a plane of that rank would.

    i am fairly new but i love the game. how do you look at a target and still operate the plane? am i going to haft to map all the controles of the plane say to... W, A, S, D. and the throttle to a different key. I really dont see how one could use the numb pad to look at a target and still fly right. that would be the only way i could think on how to do it.

    How do you maneuver your aircraft so well when you're doing the maneuvers? It's very difficult to do all that meanwhile looking at your enemy the entire time. Any tips?

    • @Nikolai5147
      @Nikolai5147  Před 10 lety

      It just comes with experience for the most part.
      But there is an optional "track enemy" type button in War Thunder that you can bind. It automatically focuses on the targeted enemy, so that makes your job of flying a little easier. The downside is sometimes you forget where exactly the ground is when you're tunnel-visioned on the enemy and focused on maneuvers.

    • @Slurpee_12
      @Slurpee_12 Před 10 lety

      CrouchingWalrus Yeah, that's bound to left alt by default; however, whenever I use that, it zooms in to the target instead of just panning to the target. The zoom angle allows you to barely see the nose of your plane. Is there any way to prevent it from zooming or would I just have to get better with the free camera and maneuvering?

    • @Nikolai5147
      @Nikolai5147  Před 10 lety

      Most of the time I would just use free camera So yes I would say it's just a matter of getting used to tracking while flying and performing maneuvers. No one starts off great, and I've certainly crashed into a mountain or the ground my fair share of times.

    • @SpyzacFilms
      @SpyzacFilms Před 9 lety +1

      CrouchingWalrus i adopted your W and S for up and down pitch, it helps greatly when flying and honestly i like to use shift for boost anyway :D
      i have the free camera on alt, since i can rest my thumb on the larger button instead of C, and still have full hand index movement

    • @stinkyfungus
      @stinkyfungus Před 8 lety

      because he has a digital fly by wire assistant that flies the plane for him, he just points and clicks with his mouse.
      the instructor conserves energy, can violate the laws of physics at will, and can fly a critically damaged plane with precision.
      just point... and click.

    and use your directional hat to track your target... not that 3rd person stuff.
    oh, you can't beacuse you dont actually know how to fly?
    ok, play more TIMMYS AIRPLANE ADVENTURE, A POINT AND CLICK GAME.
