War Thunder Maneuvers and Tactics Pt. 1 - Offensive Maneuvers

- In this video, I will briefly showcase several maneuvers in a closed environment that will hopefully help new and relatively experienced players gain an edge in Realistic Battles.

A small detail, that is often overlooked is that the hammerhead is best executed if you turn the engine off when your speed drops below 100 km/h. This helps to turn yourself around quickly instead of prophanging.

I have done the straight yoyo numerous times without knowing that was a genuine maneuver, I just knew I needed to trade a bit of climb for speed, and that the enemy was overall staying steady.
I'm a tactician and I find this offensive.

***A rope-a-dope is only to be used in 1v1 combat!!! Do not do with enemies around lol
Essentially, use a high yoyo to increase separation, use a low yoyo to decrease separation.

Wish it was this easy in simulator battles, they aren't impossible but you lose sight of the enemy for a while.

heavykyio if you ever read attack on titan then you can use the same tactics as the horsemen with the flares. use voice chat program and your set with directions and taking down the plsnes.

I dunno if you'll see this but I was just in a game, maybe about 5 v 5 on Hokkaido, you were in a Mossie and I was in a P-51D-20 NA, you shot me down, it was a honour. :D
It took me way too long to realize that you were doing all of these with Bo.
This was done in a great way that they’re simply explained with great examples and methodology.
Thanks so much. The immediate battle and the following ones were a lot easier, fun, and surprising. The high yo yo was my favorite and was very VERY useful.

Really nice vid, gonna recommend this to my buddies who are new to the game. If I was to offer some constructive criticism it would be that the maneuvers would be better shown in identical planes, if only to emphasize that aircraft performance didn't affect the outcome of the fight, the better pilot won etc (for example at 3:44 the spitfire could have intercepted the 109 without the lag roll). I look forward to parts 2 and 3!
Yep, you're completely right. If I were actually playing in a game, I would have just followed with the Spit, because I know that it's capable out out-maneuvering the 109 in any way at any speed. I really should have reversed the planes(me in a 109 and Chris in a Spit), but I was in a little bit of a rush to get this put together and I just rolled with what I had for some of the maneuvers.
Anyway, I may re-visit individual maneuvers later on in individual videos, as there is a lot more that I could address for each of these maneuvers. This was just to give people a basic idea of what they are and how to perform them.
Please show us more of your gameplay with different planes and tell us in each video what ur level of comfort with that plane is youre the best war thunder youtuber i know

I've always used the YoYo sort of as a defensive maneuver same with hammerhead... When Ever I have the most momentum I climb straight up and the target attacker usually follows.
That's called a Rope-a-dope. It's usually considered an offensive maneuver because you're the one on the attack after the transition, but I guess you could look at it as a defensive maneuver.

Don't forget using your flaps people. If you need to bleed as much energy as possible, sharpen your turns, or when performing hammerhead or maneuvers alike, you and your opponent approximately have the same amount of energy, retract flaps at the top of the hammerhead to stall longer than the enemy. This is quite useful too. If you master maneuvers, flaps usage, and the feel of "energy", you will become a formidable pilot. Don't be frustrated if you fail and practice again and again. Eventually you will learn it. And the most important, praise Hatsune Miku, admit her your Goddess, and you will become an ace in no time guaranteed :D

If it was only this easy in game ..usually it ends up with me getting behind some one then they start screeching and do a weird summersault 10g thing and I end up in the soil 😂

i have german tatics try to keep the sun behind you 2 finish your attack 3 only fire close to the plane 4 if your is behind you enemy do not try to evide try to get behind them any way 5 if your enemy is evideing you try to copy its moves the best you can

Don't know if anyone posted it yet, but I think you are a bit wrong with low yo-yo. It is used opposite to high yo-yo, when you are chasing your opponent and want to reduce the gap. Putting nose up at the end may reduce overshoot possibility, but it is also wise to use low-high yo-yo combination to do this even better.
i think there was a Japanese ace who used the rope a dope on f4fs.
If you could maybe do another video without using the target tracker that would be great. I just found it hard to understand how I would be executing these maneuvers

is it just me or did the low yoyo do nothing at all except making it harder to hit?
I mean the high yoyo you go up and and cut the corner but that little bump down in low yoyo looks like it does nothing at all except disallign your shot

Wasameng You can use yout keyboard to turn your plane. Check your controls options. I use WASD to turn the plane and Control and Shift to control the engines, and the mouse to aim and look around.

In your previous video about the head-on attack, its actually the opposite of what you think. I actually got a lot of kills if I do that sort of attack, don't know why...
But if you actually want to do that sort of attack, aim for the cockpit, or the engine (not if its a bomber you're attacking).

Why don't you cut your throttle in a dive so you have power to put in when you climb? I flew a little acrobatics and it was a golden rule, nose down, throttle down; nose up, throttle up. Unless you're going at terminal velocity, you'll accelerate if you point the nose down.
