A story in a magazine about the birth of the Voutilainen Observatoire made me interested in hand made watchmaking. I met Kari at Baselworld back in 2008 and he was very accommodating, low key and let the watches do the talking. I was back 10 years later and despite all his success he was still as attentive and unassuming, still making fabulous watches.
