- At Geneva Watch Days 2022, Wei speaks one-on-one with Kari Voutilainen, a panelist from our Legends of Independent Watchmaking Horological Symposium, and one of the most well-respected pioneers of independent watchmaking.
2022 marks the 20th anniversary since Kari founded his eponymous brand; a journey marked by both tragedy and triumph. Inspired by mentors during his time at Parmigiani Fleurier and the passing of his brother, his name would eventually become synonymous with both technical brilliance and refined finishing at the highest levels. He may be an eight-time GPHG winner but it is his willingness to give back, through being a watchmaking instructor and a supplier of dials to other independent brands, that represents an impact on watchmaking which cannot be understated.

Great video and glad to see Kari thrive. i remember Kari from the early TimeZone days (with Walt Odets, etc). Kari's own creations, and working with MB&F, showcases his amazing talent. Thanks Kari for all you do.

Can't wait to see what he does with UJ. Not that I can afford one, just have a soft spot for the brand. And what they did with the observatory Zenith last year, definitely my favorite watch of 2022. Incredible stuff.

I just purchased a pricey Armin Strom watch I"ve been looking at for a while but never purchased because I didn't find the sub dials attractive. THEN...a watch supplier showed me an AS Mirrored Force Resonance with a K. V. dial. Game over.
