Introduction
This surah is the longest surah in the Quran and contains the longest verse in the Qur'an (2:282). The name references verses 67--73 which recall the story of the golden calf worshipped as an idol by the Israelites during Moses' absence.
The theme of Surah Baqarah is divided into two parts: 1) Bani Israel - and talks about the first enemy of Islam
(The Jews) and then 2) Pillars of Islam and Eeman.
Other notable passages include the famous Ayat Al-Kursi or "Throne Verse", as well as the closing two verses which outline the six articles of belief before forming a prayer for forgiveness, divine mercy, and help against enemies of faith.
The surah addresses a wide variety of topics, including substantial amounts of law, and retells stories of Adam, Abraham and Moses. A major theme is guidance: urging the pagans (Al-Kuffar) and the Jews of Medina to embrace Islam, and warning them and the hypocrites of the fate God had visited in the past on those who failed to heed His call.
Hadith: It is reported from 'Uqbah Ibn 'Amir Al-Juhani that he said that Muhammad said: "Recite the last two verses from Surat Al-Baqarah, for I was given them from a treasure trove beneath the Throne" (Ahmad)

@@rjgill7982 Take Shahada. Don't take things too hard. Make one good habit at a time. Islam is indeed beautiful. If we are on the right path and struggling to be in the right path holding into the iman, if Allah wills, we will be forgiven for our misdeeds what Allah swt promised.
I am a sinner too. I remind myself each day, I have to return. I try and will try my best to be in the right path and leave the earth with Iman. In sha Allah, we will be forgiven.
Just be careful about doing julum (unfairness and torture) to others. Cause Allah promised, unless the person who is the victim doesn't forgive on the judgement day, one will not be forgiven. And on the judgement day, all the victim will take the good deeds of the jalim (people who do torture and unfairness) in exchange of the sufferings he/she went through. So, ask for forgiveness to those, whom you might have done unfairness.
Me too this is the book of the truth the Bible has been perverted over the years and used for other means this is the purest form of God's word
I am in the process of converting. I asked for signs and he provided.. I ignored the first few thinking it mere coincidence but the last sign i begged for was LIFE CHANGING... so big i knew i couldnt ignore and promised that this time i would convert. That was 2 years ago it is time I acknowledge my experiences with Allah. Even years before this happened, I cannot deny a few times I was shocked.. i felt his presence while praying and DROPPED TO MY KNEES CRYING TEARS OF JOY AND FEAR. I have researched many religions and never felt this with any other but Islam. I just hope it is not too late for me.

I'm currently on the path of converting to Islam in order to preserve my ancestors' heritage that was stolen from them by conquerors and missionaries from the west. I've always heard of the beauty in the Qur'an's poetry but I never had the chance to experience it firsthand. Better late than never. Not only is the recitation borderline hypnotic, but it's a brilliant meditation of what it means to continue the covenants of Abraham and Moses. There is no action without reaction. No kindness without payment. No cruelty without punishment. No repentance without forgiveness. Even to a pagan or atheist, there is something beautiful to be found in these verses.
Mashallah. I am upon a similar journey REVERTING to Islam, may Allah bless our devotion to truth self evident. ❤

To hear the poetic rhythm and flow of the original which is an essential component of the Qur'an, compared direct to the meaning in English. And Whoever Does Not Believe in Allah and His Messenger, then Surely We have prepared a Burning Fire for the Disbelievers

أُرْسِلْتُ بِهِ، إِلَّا كَانَ مِنْ أَهْلِ النَّار
(By He in Whose Hand is my soul! No member of this Ummah, Jew or
Christian, hears of me but dies without believing in what I was sent
with, but will be among the people of the Fire.

This is structurally UNMATCHED in its beauty and even with the English translation- the themes are heavy but it’s so beautiful - and interestingly it makes perfect sense when you’re the little guy and helpless. It didn’t make sense to me when I could defend myself. Now it’s comforting that’s all. I don’t even expect things post listening, it just soothes pains that a Being cared enough to comfort the little guy (me) even when that little guy isn’t worthy of being called Muslim in any way
