      Uche Ewelike So, cool action scenes and funny one liners match a sophisticated crime drama about morality, justice, and the idea of what it means to be a hero?you're probably one of those people who thinks GG is one of the best superhero films. and as for X-Men and Cap, they come close, but still not as good as this movie. Don't take my word for it though, go to rotten tomatoes and see for yourself.

    • @odogwu7
      @odogwu7 Před 9 lety +19

      Connor Kenway no, a real comic book movie about power and control, matches a movie carried by the presence of an outstanding villain and nothing more. You're probably one of those people that are stuck on a monotone of dark and gritty in superhero movies. GG (Guardians of the galaxy, I'm guessing) is one of the best superhero movies not the best, it definitely doesn't surpass the likes of Cap 2, TDK, Avengers, X-Men DOFP, and Ironman. X-men and Cap 2 are better than this movie. I'm not insinuating that the movie is bad, no, it's great. Now I would take Rotten Tomatoes word for it, but it rated movies like Ironman 3 and TDKR fresh when they clearly aren't.

Stuff like that bothers people I guess. Pretty dumb really lol.

Least popular. 8.3 on IMDB (800k votes) where as The Dark Knight Rises has a 8.5 (900k votes). This is from the people of the Internet not the critics. Also the critics loved the film! I don't know where your getting that idea from.

If this movie came out thirty years from when it did, it probably would have won best picture, because the current academy would have died off and new voting people who know a great film when they see it would have voted for it. lolllll you have to judge a film for what it is not how it affects culture the dark knight is a joker character piece with other things going on that's it Harvey dents line bout the hero thing is kool the way batman nabs the joker is shit the way batman kills Harvey is shit and the ending is so pretentious the whole not the hero gotham needs it feels so force fed because everything that happened in the last 5 mins prior to that was ridiculos the problem with nolans trilogy is they don't flesh out batman as a character its just Christian bale walking round saying stuff begins put logic to his rise to batman but nothing towards his character and the dark knight is the perfect batman film not about batman and the dark knight rises tries to mask this by everyone going on about how batman is amazing because Nolan is too lazy to flesh out any character for bruce and if your a serious comic book fan or a person that jumps on trend wagons or a Nolan fan or a massive joker or heath ledger fan you wil suck the dark knights dick till you die but as a film its ok that's it if I wana see a joker character piece I want it to be called joker or something not the dark knigiht we have yet to see a great batman film about bruce wayne nolans trilogy gets praise for the little things like getting rid of title sequences making everything logical but overall ther good movies but not amazing im not gona lie personally my favourite comic book movies are dredd and spiderman 1 and maybe man of steel because it really made super man into a character rather than OP god man I love dredd because of how wild it was visually and the tone it was like blade runner meets the raid and spider man 1 because its the only comic book film that's dedicated to the character completely and spidermans character is very inspiring hes a geek who tries to be more instead of some hipsterwho thinks hes sick (amazing spiderman cough) the first 2 blade movies where kool and i have a little soft spot for ang lees the hulk because eric bana is a great choice but underused and i like the dark undertones and the title score dark knight was ok im intrested to see why you like it so much because it really comes down to why you appreciate it that defines it but overall its a crime thriller that has some undertones in it like every other superhero film has undertones not a master piece

      Also, I'm not so much a comic book fan, but instead a beginning film nut. I like the dark knight because it kept me interested the entire way through it. It hooked me and didn't let go. It is what I think is the model of what a great classic should be. It's not a perfect film (if such a thing existed, the world would not exist), but it's a damn good piece of cinema.

    Okay. The Five people that I think they're talking about that Two Face killed.
    1) The Cop in the Hospital (killed by The Joker but they assumed it was Harvey)
    2) Wuertz. In the Bar.
    There, you have two cops killed.
    3) You have to look really carefully, but the scene where Marone is stepping into the car, before it cuts to him in the car, you actually see on the left of the screen a pair of hands (Harvey's) reach and pull away one of the bodyguards standing by the car. He didn't make any noise or raise an alarm, so you can assume he got killed.
    4) The Driver of the car. Shot from behind.
    5) Marone himself. Killed in the car crash.

    • @TheForceOfMusic101
      @TheForceOfMusic101 Před 8 lety +12

      +Roddy Rod The conversation Batman and Jim Gordon are having is about the chaos that will ensue as a result of 5 people getting murdered by the District Attorney, Harvey Dent. If Harvey Dent died without killing anyone, the city would lose a decent man of the law, but all the criminals that were locked up by Dent would stay locked up. However, hearing about the death of 5 people by Dent's hands would have all the criminals they threw in prison released, and throw Gotham back into Chaos just as the Joker had planned. The line "Whatever chance you gave us of fixing our city dies with Harvey's reputation" is referencing this. "5 dead, 2 of them cops" is Jim Gordon asking Batman how can keep Harvey's murders a secret when there are 5 people dead, 2 of which are cops. Therefore, Harvey is not one of the 5 people.

    I grew up with Tim Burton's Batman...vividly remember both that and Returns when I was a kid at the theater (I'll pretend Forever and Robin never happened), but let's be real here, HEATH LEDGER IS The Joker.
    Jack Nicholson portrayed him well, and maybe even more true to the comics...but Heath Ledger and Christopher Nolan brought something unique and created now one of the most iconic villains in cinema history.Of ALL the times I saw The Dark Knight including twice in theaters, once at the Drive-In and once in IMAX...I STILL have yet to see Heath Ledger in the entire movie...I just see The Joker. When I watch Tim Burton's Batman, I see Jack Nicholson wearing a lot of paint and goofy clothes.

      +Mark Hazleton Yeah, I thought Jack Nicholson as the Joker was pretty amusing (I do like his goofy appearance), but he has nothing on Heath Ledger. My problem with his Joker is that he really was just Jack Nicholson in a Joker suit, you could easily tell it was him. I wish he had brought something interesting or unique to the character instead of just basically acting like himself. No offense to Jack, I loved him in movies like The Departed, but he didn't do that good of a job in Batman.

What cinched it for him she asked? I took her to see it in IMAX & said wait for the interrogation scene. Brilliant writing & acting on display. At the end of that epic scene when Batman drags him over the table, he sums up Bats entire existence in 11 words. “You have all these rules and you think they’ll save you.”

    Jack Nicolson and Heath Ledger both did a great job. They captured the joker in different ways to me. With Jack Nicolson you could tell he was insane but could be a little silly at times probably do to the time frame. But with Ledger you thought "holy crap this nut job is totally psychotic. At least that's what I got from it. Personally I liked Dark Knight better.

    I usually hate super hero movies, but this is one I actually liked. TDK is currently rated #4 on the IMDB top 250 list so you know it is going to be good. Easily the best super hero movie of all time. It does not fall into the "boring and predictable" trap that most movies in it's genre do. The pacing is excellent with just the right amount of action and story. The fighting scenes are not over the top or too long (Transformers anyone?), and the special effects look good. I think what I really like about The Dark Knight is how it does not try to be the "biggest and best" in terms of action, scope, or drama and yet it ends up being epic anyway. Also Heath Ledger as the Joker. I honestly can't think of a better movie villain in cinema.

  • @redharleyquinn80
    @redharleyquinn80 Před 10 lety +16

    It's like comparing Tim Burton's Batman with Nolan's.Jack and Heath were both great for the movies they played in but I myself am a person with realistic tendencies so Heath Ledger just fulfilled my dream of seeing a Joker that could really exist nowadays (dark,murderous,intelligent,cold hearted) making him a total nihilist.AND another thing I really love at his Joker is that he kills people regardless of their gender(compared to Jack's Joker who kinda 'falls' for Vicki Vale).Remember in The Killing Joke when he shot Barbara in the spine? That's what The Joker is.
    LOVELESS AND FEARLESS.So thank you Christopher Nolan for this epic trilogy!

    • @Sousabird
      @Sousabird Před 10 lety +14

    • @DarkKnight2037
      @DarkKnight2037 Před 10 lety +2

    • @zacharysylvester8349
      @zacharysylvester8349 Před 5 lety

      Harvey Dent's writing for this universe was absolute genius. The split personality just wouldn't have worked in this setting. To make it a three-way romance and then to have him manipulated by the joker and go after Gordon was just a genius, perfectly integrated narrative. It just links beautifully.
