  • Have you ever wondered if Scribd is worth it? I've been using Scribd since March and I was curious so I added up the price of all of the books I've read and compared it to how much money I've spent. You might be surprised by the results.

I would make a list of audiobooks that I could only get it from scribd and resubscribe once I have 6-10 books to binge then cancel afterward. I would do that for kindle unlimited as well. My libraries are awesome carrying new releases but scribd can fill in some backlist audiobooks. I definitely got my money's worth when I was binging 45+ audiobooks, In Death series by J.D. Robb.

I joined Scribd because I couldn’t get the audiobooks I wanted! They have a huge selection of cosy mysteries including the latest. Of course I quickly made every mistake! I made lists on Scribd of everything I wanted which included a lot of new stuff. They encourage it! Then they turn around and punish you it seems! They should be more transparent! It costs more than my monthly fee to buy one audiobook. I am getting a great deal if I take only 5 audiobooks a month and only one is brand new! I was buying alot of audiobooks and I can’t afford to keep it up! I have decided to stick with Scribd and work my way around their system for now! I can’t get this audiobook selection anywhere else!

This is a great idea. I should track this expense next year and see if it's worth it for me. I only find it limiting when I read 12+ books a month and then I get limited to the lackluster titles.

My experience with Scribd was terrible. I cancelled before my 30 day free trial was over because the choice of books was very limited, hardly any best sellers or books by renowned authors. 2 and half years later I found they have been taking money out of my account every month - $495 in total and I have never received an invoice, a receipt, any notifications of products or changes in monthly costs (there were 2 increases in this time line), no correspondence at all. Cancelling is very confusing and there are more steps after you think you have cancelled. Buyer BEWARE.

Great idea to see if Scribd is worth it. I use it for about 4-5 books a month so it definitely is for me. But, the limiting titles can be very frustrating

I'm loving all of this math and it makes me feel good about my Scribd subscription! It's definitely where I listen to the majority of my audiobooks.

I really like this idea, it's always interesting to see where the subscription costs land versus the value.

Thank you, so much for this. Marie and I are such Mood Readers...that we are all over the place. We set goals, but usually half the books we read in a month are unplanned. Currently, this month...I've read 10 books, and half of them were unplanned. So Scribed would be very useful.
We are relying mostly on the Library, the buying eBooks...so right in our wheelhouse.
We are not numbers people, but your explanations were wonderful, especially the graphics. Thanks for putting in the time on this.
    Talk to you, later.
