A&A - Fun song & fair w/ reaction. I was very young & in the high school band... We figured it out & would play this at BB & FB games. It got the crowd going w/ the "Stroke!" chants. So... That's my flashback for you. -- "Everybody Wants You", as most have said, is one you could consider. Great start to week. Good day to ya! :)

Billy Squier was fking HUGE back in the day. As a teen in the early-mid '80's you'd hear this song at every party, every school dance, every visit to the arcade and skating rink. FYI This entire album has so many good songs, its one of the few albums you can put it on and leave it until the end. "My kind of LOver". "In The DarK", "The Stroke", "Everybody Wants You" all worthwhile tunes.

I believe the "STROKE! STOKE! STROKE!" portion of the song was put in there for the sole purpose of fan participation when played live. Remember, there were no cell phones and part of the experience of a concert was to interact with the band. So, while it is a bit annoying and yes, a solo would make the song better overall, that chant really did add to the live experience.

R.I.P. Jeff Golub, the other guitar player besides Billy Squire. If you watch the contemporary videos for the songs off this album, or live clips from the tour, you'll see him with his black Les Paul to Billy's left (house right).
