We will! Console episodes take a lot of time and energy but we love doing them and the audience seems to like them so yes we will definitely due more single console-dedicated shows.
Do the due
The end of this video really need some Survivor's Eye of The Tiger music in it. Great episode guys. That Two Towers beat em up is really fun
hi metal jesus from the past
You guys have the best production value of any gaming channel around. Keep up the good work!
Donkey Kong '94 is a really overlooked gem, it starts as a remake of the original Donkey Kong on the gameboy, but after beating the original arcade levels, an bunch of new levels open, and the style is different from the arcade Donkey Kong.
It works with Super Gameboy so there is color, and i feel like a lot of people ignore it because when they start playing it, they assume it is just a remake not knowing there is a completely new game in a different style after beating the first levels.
you guys are awesome! you make me realise how many great games i missed in my childhood. it is like taking a trip back into the good old times and then realise that these times were even better than you imagined!
These dudes got the SACK to back it up! 🤣😂💯🇺🇸🔥
Quackshot rules! That, castle & world of illusion are some of my favorite non Shining Sega Genesis games.
By far the best retro videogame show on youtube, thanks so much for all the heart and creativity that you guys put in every video !!!! Greetings from South America, Chile !!!!
"Did somebody say overlooked gems?"
So glad to see you guys included The two towers. Love that game and it went highly unappreciated.
Quackshot is one of my favorite games ever, I still play it 20 years after I first got it.
I don't comment on your videos anywhere near as much as I ought to. You guys are awesome, and I love your reviewing style!
You don't fanboy over games very often, and you give the good points as well as the bad points of the games you show. Both of these are major pluses in my book.
Keep up the great work, and thanks for giving Tomba some love!
you guys are amazing, i simply cannot state enough how perfect of a channel this is. always so informative and timely! thanks guys!
i think that you two are the most elaborate retro show out there!
I really feel that one of the most overlooked game series is Onimusha. It's one of the best game series Capcom have created. I feel it's really worth mentioning.
That's the game series that I never got around to playing.
i only ever played the 3rd one but i loved it
I completely agree. Onimusha 1 was the first game that got me hooked after a long time of not feeling gaming that much anymore. This series should be continued.
that's probably the best one
nohomers100 The first is the best but the third comes a close second.
that is how every power pad session went when i was a kid
Didn't move, was born here, but had the pleasure of living in CO briefly back in '97/98. My dad moved there temporarily for work, family went too. We lived in a place called Oasis Deerwood, in Highlands Ranch I think. Loved the weekend road trips up the Rockies or visiting SilverPlume, Golden, Boulder... I don't even like Guinness! Nice hat though :) By the way, Game Sack is not only my favourite CZcams show, but one of my favourite shows period. Appreciate all the work you and Joe put into it.
Kirby's Block Ball was my first ever Gameboy game I owned when my parents bought my OG Gameboy back in the day. I haven't talked to anyone else who has played it, definitely a great game from my childhood.
Quack shot is one of my favorite Genesis games. I hope it’s on the Genesis mini.
I always thought return of the king was the better game, I remember me and my buddy staying up all night to beat that game co-op when it first came out, it was tons of fun.
There is a copy of the Two Towers that has been sitting at the shelf at the local thrift shop for months now. Thanks to you. I will make it mine.
Quack Shot is one of my favourite Mega Drive games, a must play for anyone who loves platformers.
I remember playing Tombi(Tomba in US) demo over and over :)
man you sure do love your shooters don't you joe. Thumbs up on the two towers and tomba dave
Beyond Shadowgate is going for $900! holy cow. good luck finding that one at a decent price!
It is? Wow. Glad I got mine a few years ago from a friend for a much better price.
Game Sack I care about old black and white games. aand i like kirby and im not to young im 13 and stop making me cringe. plz. thx.
+Vinescringus Blueshroom
Oh, then I can see why you use the word "cringe".
International Track & Field is one of the most competitive and fun games in the PS1. A few lucky people whom actually sat and enjoyed countless game sessions with family or friends are the ones that praise this game whenever it is mentioned. It is really rare for a sports game to gain such status.
Two Towers is such an UNDERATED game! Thanks for mentioning it.
I love Gamesack so much, it's inanely entertaining. I just get frustrated because I always want MORE ! Keep up the good work guys, I love it.
that death by boredom in beyond shadow gate is possibly one of the best deaths in video game history. thanks for showing me that one guys. yet again another great vid
I wish there was one more generation of 2D games before the 3D generations took over! Imagine how awesome the 2D games might have been! Sega Genesis and SNES we're great but imagine a 32 bit generation of nothing but amazing platformers!!!! Then 3D could've taken over afterwards!!
Well there are many great 2d games on the PS1 and the Saturn got great looking 2d games as well. However with the SS these games are in a high-price range these days.
i still have my disc of tomba and hearing that it is now a cult classic makes me feel lucky to have bought it when i did
We're good. Thanks for asking. I work in Boulder and there is tons of damage. There are streets where there is water still seeping out of manholes. People are still pumping water out of their basements. Crazy stuff.
this show is a youtube gem in overwhelmed world of retro gaming channels
I love Quackshot. It was my favorite Genesis game as a kid...so many great game mechanics.
As i can remember the most complex thing is in some stages were we dont need to win the battle, its run or stay alive for some turns, so you will love this game
ah, that music at the start of playing tomba...good memories
GRANADA! I loved that one! Best music ever!
It's only a step in my non-stop goal to replicate the cartridge insert of an old US SMS commercial from long ago. That commercial has influenced most of my game-insert sequences.
The subtle zoom and crop with the Kirby's Block Ball segment is just one example of why I love Game Sack. You guys deliver grade-A production value with a definite attention to detail.
The work shows, and as a viewer of many retro YT channels, is definitely appreciated - looking forward to the next episode!
That's a sweet-ass basement in the ending skit. Those paintings are nice and I'm jealous of what looks like a skee-ball game?
Because it's fun AND challenging. It's probably not for everyone but it sure clicks with me.
Over looked gems Star Gladiator for the Playstation and Plasma Sword for the Dreamcast also Tech Romancer was another hidden gem...
Beyond Shadowgate looks so goddamn good. Why couldn't this be released for a more mainstream console like the Genesis/SegaCD or SNES. Heck. A Saturn/PSX "remake" would've been awesome :(
Tomba! is one of my favorite games of all time, sucks that it is so damn expensive now. I'd love to have a copy.
One Genesis Game i never hear anyone talk about is "Gadget Twins" great music, great graphics, effects and gameplay.
And here's good 'ol Black Belt and the Donald game with the plungers. So nostalgic :-).
The music in a Lord of The Rings game means a LOT. I noticed because I'm playing LotR War in the North right now and it has none of the tracks from the movie, which is a huge bummer.
I never realized until now the intro was biohazard battle thank you
Two of the best and highly overlooked games on the Sega Saturn are "Winter Heat" & "DecAthlete". Highly addicting and immensely fun!!
I agree Joe, Elemental Master is an overlooked gem. So much, it didn't even have a Wikipedia page until I made it a few years ago. Maybe some of your words in this video can be added to the reception section of it.
Dave, if you put your index finger's and thumb's nails together and wriggle them on a PlayStation button, you can get amazing turbo speed if you get the flow. But it only works on one button at a time of course.
Watching this show has cost me so much money. Every time I watch an episode my collection increases.
The amount of times I’ve laughed from Joe and Daves antics has been many. Many times. I miss the old sacks.
No more than, say, Mercs reminds us of Elemental Master.
i was hoping you guys could cover games on MSX systems..
Penguin Adventure was a childhood favourite.. also was ported to the Sega Master system..
I remember in our T & F tournaments, everyone had a different style for that button bashing. Mine was rest the controller on my chest and slide my thumbnail rapidly over the power buttons!
the world need a Game Sack panel so bad... any convention any where :D
talking about overlooked things this channel deserves more views its easily my favourite youtube channel you guys are awesome its just a shame i have to wait another 2 weeks for the next episode lol keep up the great work gamesack
So many things to say, but I'll focus on just one:
Rapid-fire button presses on home console controllers. Maybe I am wrong, but I always found it best "wiggle" the remote and your hands while pressing with your thumb(s). You end up pressing with your thumb(s) as fast as you would with your finger(s), but every time you shift your hand to raise your thumb up... your fingers on back of the controller push it up into your thumb for an extra press.
Plus you don't have to sit on the floor.
I've seen this episode probably ten times and I just now noticed Jen is on the couch during the sketch at the end.... so I guess you could say she's a bit of a "Hidden Jen" :|
Hit the nostalgia button with Black Belt! It looked very good for it's time. I still hum that boss tune.
Yeah man, I remember playing World Class Track Meet as a kid and my brother getting down on the floor and slamming the buttons ultra fast with his hands, causing his runner to leap into hyperspeed, good times
I only found this show yesterday, and already I love it.
sweet sunday gamesack action, athlete kings on the saturn is another multiplayer all night classic! track and feild is worth talking about.
I finished Revenge of Shinobi and Shinobi 3 back in the 90`s, such a great games!!
I bought Granada from my local, the imports always intrigue me and i got them to pull up a youtube video. Bought it instantly, such a great game.
I too loved playing LOTR: The Two Towers on the Gamecube. I don't recall it ever getting a lot of love.
Since revenge of shinobi is still my favorite game of all time, I have tried to get into shinobi on Saturn so many times. It just never hooks me. Granada and elemental master... awesome games. Another great video ... thanks guys!
Once again, another video from you guys I didn't want to end.
The guys explode because it's based on the Fist of the North Star, as you said. In the FotNS, Kenshiro uses the martial art of the fist of the North Star to explode enemies from the inside.
Shinobi X is probably my favourite game that I've played of the series. I actually find the aesthetics (graphics) quite appealing and the emphasis on the katana along with smoother controls appeals to me. By the way the end sequence was amusing.
Great list, I used to love Granada as a kid.
You should. Even jumping with the UP button feels natural. Probably because you don't have to do it often. And thanks for the kind comments!
Absolutely, it is amoung the best block games i've played.
When I first heard the Bio Hazard Battle music, I immediately thought that one would pop up in this episode. Oh well... I do feel that was an overlooked gem. Glad to see Granada though!
Love QuackShot. I'm 38 and I still keep it in my regular rotation.
great show as always guys. loved the stinger at the end too. what sold me on it was jen on the couch being all chill.
hope you guys get to doing another underrated games episode or maybe one that talks about the gaia trilogy[soul blazer, illusion of gaia and terranigma(of which that's overlooked a lot because of it never being released in america)]!
I always enjoy Game Shack as a way to find good playable games I missed out from the early days, Even better is having popping corn watching with a friend. Afterwards, discuss what game is worthy of a purchase to challenge for a "ego boost" the wives so care to here. I will choose wisely, thanks Game Shack!
That's an interesting style. I guess events like the 100 meter dash and swimming that would work well since there is only 2 buttons to worry about.
The music in the intro is from Bio Hazard battle. Another overlooked gem.
I had this Black Belt for the SMS, played it like hell when I was a Kid.
That ending. Power Pad games tend to do this with people, as well as Wii motion games.
omg black belt! one of the earliest games i remember playing as a kid.
I love Game Sack, wish it the best in the future too. - Northeastmonk
9:05 LOVED that game, but never could get past that same very part. Always got mauled by the uruks.
You guys are great. I never miss an episode. Keep up the great work.
I just realized that Quackshot is basically Donald Duck Metroid. Maybe that's why I love it so much.
I just picked up Granada last week coincidentally. It never clicked with me before but it's starting to grow on me now.
A friend of mine had Quack Shot which I remember fondly and another firend had World of Illlusion. I never played Castle of Illusion but I played the hell out of World of Illusion. I took issue when Dave said World of Illusion was easy in a previous episode, it took us many attempts to finish, but we were like 7 years old so yeah, that might have been why.
Daley Thompson's Decathlon on the ZX Spectrum had a similar control scheme to IT&F. I used to play it a lot when I was about six. The sound of me hammering the keys did concern my parents. I think they thought I was a little too young to have discovered "that" yet. Definitely include Chakan the Forever Man in your next Overlooked Gems video! Unless you don't like it of course. Just mention it somewhere!! Great video guys. Keep it up.
Black Belt kinda reminds me of My Hero for the Master System. I loved that game, even though you only really need to spam the flying kick most of the time.
I absolutely loved this episode, now I have a lot of games to look out for...and I was just playing Shinobi X before watching Game Sack! I'm still looking forward to a Turbo Duo/Pc Engine CD episode.
14:29 definitely one of my best game with great gameplay and super awesome soundtrack!
Tomba! was recently re-released on the Playstation network by the awesome import wizards at Monkey Paw games. It is only $10 and works on the PSVita. I love it!
Only game I have from this episode is Black Belt, came with the Master System when I found mine in a thrift store. Only thing I didn't like about it was when bosses become immune to attack when they get cornered against the edge of the screen then magically bounce around you.
Tomba and tomba 2 .. are my all time fav video games to this date
Starts off with the music from Stage 2 of Bio Hazard Battle! :D If you do another one of these, I'd nominate Ranger-X. It was a pretty sweet platform shooter with a decent amount of variety and some interesting mechanics.
Holy crap! Granada! I used to love that game, but somehow I ended up COMPLETELY forgetting about it. (Maybe my memory of it got smushed together with my memory of Assault or something…) Also, I loved Black Belt as a kid. I always thought it was creative (and a bit crazy) how the bodies of the enemies would explode in such a ridiculous way. It all finally made sense many years later when I learned that it was originally a Fist of the North Star game. Finally, Kirby's Block Ball and Elemental Master look pretty fun. Thanks for the introduction, guys! :)
Enjoyed the video, you got a legit laugh out of me when Dave's hand caught on fire.
A LOT. And not ashamed to admit it. Music from new games can be great, too!
Great episode! The Shining Force 2 music popping up made my day tho since that's currently what I'm playing.
