What causes hyperpigmentation?
Skin hyperpigmentation is caused by abnormal production of melanin, the pigment responsible for skin colour, and a consequence of uncontrolled, localised overproduction of melanin inside the melanocyte, which causes irregular skin colouration and dark spots. Numerous external and internal factors can cause hyperpigmentation
How does COSMELAN work?
With an intensive corrective effect that regulates overproduction of melanin in the melanocytes, inhibiting and controlling the appearance of new dark spots. It’s dual corrective and controlling action achieves both short and long-term results by keeping hyperpigmentation under control. preventing it from reappearance and stopping the appearance of new dark spots.
The treatment consists of one in-clinic treatment followed by home maintenance, which should be continued for 12 months.
The Cosmelan 1 is the professional treatment mask which is applied by a skin professional in the clinic and this should be left ondepending on Fitzpatrick skin type and form of hyperpigmentation.
The Cosmelan 2 should then be used by the client at home.
Why is it important the client uses the homecare?
The homecare process of Cosmelan 2 maintenance cream is continued to allow the melanocyte to stop producing the same abnormal production of melanin and continue to not produce this by its self. If this is not followed for this amount of time, the hyperpigmentation will most likely return as the melanocyte will start producing the same hyperpigmentation.
How quickly can results be seen?
Results can be seen in as little as two weeks but can continue to improve with the best of the result being seen between 30 and 60 days following the treatment.
Will the client experience any after-effects and how long does this last?
Peeling and a little redness and irritation can be expected initially. This may last until the application of cosmelan 2 is reduced in the second month. Melan recovery is recommended to be applied to the skin to reduce the peeling and irritation significantly.

@@idi58marbell35Dermamelan and Cosmelan please do your research for making such a statement, these products and peels are highly researched, the only peels that does not cause Hyperpigmentation or Post Hyper inflammatory. Like 99% of productsout the it had Tyrosinase Inhibitors Especially for darker skins, I have olive skin and this product works were products designed for whiter skins don’t necessarily work on our skins that is olive to dark skins. Hi. I had the Cosmelan 1 applied 5 weeks ago. I have had a very rough time with it. My face was very badly swollen from Day 2 for three days. I have had intense burning and redness. It has now calmed down but my skin is very very itchy. I am currently applying Cosmelan 2 twice a day with Melan Recovery and SPF. I also apply Fast Skin Repair and Hydra-Vital Factor K as I have a lot of dryness. When will my sling get back to normal as it’s making me depressed.
I did the Cosmelan peel two days back. Whenever I do a face wash with Cetaphil and apply the moisturiser the peeling gets worse and my face becomes very itchy. Is it normal or is there something I’m doing wrong?

Very helpful video but the communication is very hard with the clinic a lady answers the phone and always says she will email Eleonora and doesn't know when she will get back to me. I wish the communication was efficient and Eleonora would give her number or work number to WhatsApp her or message her pre treatment and post treatment. Like right now I have irritation from the prep kit and I don't know if it's normal or not or I should apply less as my skin gets red and with red bumps that go away after 40 mins or so. Also I feel like my pigmentation is getting worse due to the redness. I know for a fact that my skin doesn't tolerate vitamin C very well so I can wondering if a moisturiser can be applied after or just apply the products once a day. Like I said nothing was explained to me and Eleonora is very hard to reach. I am concerned about the actual mask application and what support I will be getting if that independent woman who Answers the phone doesn't know what to do and always says she will email Eleonora and not even call her. Also I noticed Eleonora has some pigmentation slightly visible on the face. Does that mean your cosmelan and other treatments couldn't get rid of it? Sorry about asking but I am desperate about getting rid of mine completely as it's mild.

Hi , thank you for your feedback. You can add Vit C in the morning and Hyaluronic acid in the evening after the first month, they will not harm your skin, but don’t use them the first month after the mask, as the protocol says only cosmelan 2 and Melan recovery+spf

Hi ...i am messaging you from India ,my treatment after using cosmelan 1 and 2 was great ...i could see visible diffrence ...but after usage of cosmelan 2 for 2 weeks i had a burning sensation near my mouth area and so my therapist asked me to use only melan recovery cream and for the past 30 days i have not used cosmelan 2 .Now the burning area has turned black and i could see pigmentation coming back and the color of my skin has started to fade ..need your advice whether the dark pigmentation and the color variation on the burnt area will vanish after using cosmelan 2 again as i am advised to use it again .Need your advice to regain my skin back .
Note :
The burnt area after applying melan recovery started to cure and peel but it turned out to be dark ...really dark and it is visibly seen around my mouth area as a big patch.

Hello! I am on cosmelan treatment. I have started nr 2 after 5 days after cosmelan 1. Today is day 4 of nr2 treatment,and I have a bit burning ,redness,tight snd flaking of the skin. Thats normal as I read. But I have difficulties to put all 3 products, as when putting them on, skin is being rubbed,and its also painful and burning, while putting any product on... And I wonder why my cosmelan 2 cream is on thicker texture than you show on your hand,also more orange 🤔
It feels with every day that it goes everything more painful:( when it supposed to be less painful? Cant imagine to keep doing this for a whole month...what if to cut down to 3 weeks (when applying 2 a day,and after 3 weeks aply only at night)

it is normal to burn, you can mix Cosmelan 2 and Melan rec. and apply together with tapping technique, before you spread everything. you can reduce to twice a day. it will get better with time yes but not now, at least 2 weeks from now

Thank you for such detailed videos. I did cosmelan 1 & 2 in 2020 for the first time. I think I stopped too soon as my melasma did return. I have just purchased 1 & 2 to redo. Did the mask yesterday for 10 hours, today is my first day after the peel for cosmelan 1 but I don’t feel puffy at all & only a little red. I purchased the pack via a friend in Ireland & now I’m worried it might not have been the real deal? Would you recommend I continue with the cos 2 or should I purchase the cos 1 again & try again? Could it just be that my face is now used to cosmelan so the reacts won’t be so severe? Thank you

@@dermacure9618 thank you for responding. Although the initial reaction was very delayed (as apposed to the first time I did it) after day 3 or 4 the normal reacts definitely started kicking in. I am not on my second month, have stopped doing the treatment 3x a day - so only applying cos 2 morning & night with melan recov & SPF. The main spots are definitely still there so I’m assuming they might take longer to disappear. But thanks so much for checking in, it seems I just had a delayed reaction I think. 🤍

Would you recommend phyto peeling for someone with broken capillaries?
Hi, thank you for your feedback. phyto peeling is not recommended to be done on people with very sensitive skin as it may get worst. You can treat the capillaries first and then do the peel, it will be fine. In general, chemical or herbal peels are too aggressive for people suffering redness, but there are some exceptions, like mandelic peels for example

It won't definitely make it worse, it will actually improve your pigmentation, but personally I would opt for the dermalean peel.

What you said about the oily skin now makes sense. I got cosmelan 3 months ago and now that the weather is warmer I noticed very oily shiny skin. Also a lot of whiteheads on my nose after applying cosmelan 2. I need to probably tone it to stop that then. Do you recommend a toner?
You can use any toner for oily skin, and also you can help them falling with some very mild mechanical scrub, use it after the cleanser. I recommend Dermalogica daily superfoliant. Do not rub for long, just for 30 seconds twice a week. You skin now is very thin and you have ti be very careful.
By skin is looking little bit darker after cosmelan 1 it has just 6 days... what can be reason for it...few area are okay

However, there have been 16 hours after I've removed the mask (Cosmelan 1) and my skin has absolutely no reaction; no puffiness, no redness, no irritation, it looks like nothing happened. I am applying all the creams except Cosmelan 2 (since there are less than 48 hours since I've removed the mask).
My question is whether the fact that my skin has completely no reaction is normal or not? When should I expect any reaction and what to do?

Between 6 months and 1 year. I would wait 1 year, but it all depends on how bad your pigmentation is and also how sensitive your skin is. Cosmelan is very good, but being dark skinned and suffering from melasma, I should have opted for the Dermalean peel.

Hello Elenora. I am new to your channel, this is such a thorough video which explains everything so well. I ma having a Cosmelan treatment on the 14th and am nervous. I do not have very dark melasma, just light ones on both sides of my cheeks and very little on my nose. How long should I keep the mask on? My treatment is being done at a clinic but you have a lot of experience in comparison to the person that I am going to. Any help would be appreciated.
Dear Elenora, i am so happy to have found your video, you are by far the best person to turn to when it comes to Cosmelan, i have done my cosmelan 1 and now on my first week of cosmelan 2, however, i have seen no peeling or redness on my skin, only feels a bit of tingling when i am applying the cream, is this normal? my cosmelan gives me an orange face that i cant not go outside, cos everyone is staring at me lol. also do i need to apply the sunblock even if i dont go outside? please help me out thank you so much.
I really enjoy your videos, thanks for them. I did Cosmelan 1 a week ago, but I have some adverse effects. I have a few dark scabs that formed where skin was peeling, mostly on my jaw and cheeks. It doesn't hurt but I stopped putting Cosmelan 2 on these areas and only am putting recovery cream and very gentle Cilcafate cream only on the red areas. I'm a bit concerned that I have these scabbing... not a lot of people seem to be getting it. What should I do to help it heal? Right now, I'm obviously very careful with avoiding the sun and putting Cosmelan 2 avoiding these area, what else can I do?
hello, and thank you for supporting my channel :), it sounds like it is mild burn, please do not wet the scabs until they fall, no water at all, only apply sudo cream and leave it like that for days, do not touch them

I got those Scabs too. I think it might be from contact dermatitis. I stopped using cosmrlan after I got them. It's way too aggressive on the Skin.

You do not need to use them at that time, only 2,3 months at least post cosmelan 1

The problem is that as soon as I start cutting down on cosmelan 2 cream my melisma comes right back. I wanted get cosmelan peel done so I contacted the asthetic expert near me , I wanted to get the treatment done but found that it’s not affordable for me , so my dermatologist suggested to take only cosmelan 1 and cosmelan 2 only I didn’t get full package of the peel and. Moreover cosmelan 1 peel was applied by the expert she didn’t apply generous amount of the product and my skin … when she applied it was not even visible to see such small quantity she applied and charged me 6k in Indian price … she didn’t give back the cosmelan 1 product remained … and charged 20k for cosmelan 2 I wanna know is worth the price or I’m I fooled … i didn’t get the recovery cream and spf , help reply and let me know to clear my doubts plz 😢

Hi, yes it is normal after 22 days only to still have pigmentation. It takes long time in fact you need to use cosmelan 2 for at least 9 months and then go on a maintenance. Dry skin is norma and redness is normal. Skin will be peeling usually during the time you are using the cosmelan 2

Hi. I started watching your website regarding mesoestetic products in the philippines. I have all 3 kits and she applied the cosmelan1 in her clinic but let it stay for only 30-1 hr only and I don't see it flaking after 3 days. Now I'm applying the recovery and pigment control for right now for 1 week and then start cosmelan 2 but it's not peeling that much. what do I put if my face is very dry? 2 weeks ti 1 month. You will not really need make up , cosmelan 2 looks like foundation anyway so no need and it is better not to apply make up really, but you can. Use mineral make up and use good quality one. As it is very easy to clock pores

Hello Heba, it is not good to do the treatment if breastfeeding. Have you done it in a clinic. Please do not do it. It is a contraindication. We never treat pregnant or breastfeeding clients as we are not sure if this will in any way have an effect on the baby

I am thinking to use cosmelan for my melasma but i still doubt whether after 9 month applying cosmelan 1 and 2, will the skin be very sensitive to sun or not. Since i am from Indonesia, a tropical country it will be difficult for me to avoid sun hahah....Can you share? How is your experience?
And secondly, when applying cosmelan 2, should I combine with my regular skincare product (I used to use SK II FTE + RNA) or cosmelan 2 and spf is enough? Thank you

My aesthetician only applied a thin layer of cosmelan 1 and said she ll apply the remaining after 15-20 days.
I washed off cosmelan 1 as adviced by her after 8 hours. But I didn't experience any redness at all. No pink even.
