- In this video, I am showing you how to use Cosmelan 2 cream on it's own step by step. Cosmelan 2 cream is usually used as a part of Cosmelan Depigmentation treatment, and it is part of its home care regime. Cosmelan 2 is an amazing cream to treat hyperpigmentation on the skin, but also can be a very good anti-aging cream due to the highest concentration of Retinol (the active ingredient, which makes your skin peeling), that can also reduce your fine lines and wrinkles.
Cosmelan 2 can treat - Hyperpigmentation as a form of Melasma, Post Inflammatory Hyperpigmentation -PIH, Freckles, Sun damage or Age spots
Cosmelan is a depigmenting method that removes spots fully and prevents their reappearance for a short-term outcome while being able to maintain hyperpigmentation's under control for a long-lasting outcome.

HOW TO USE COSMELAN 2 AS PART OF AFTER CARE -POST COSMELAN 1 MASK APPLICATION:
1. After you wash your Cosmelan 1 mask
2. Apply Melan recovery cream and SPF Melan 130+ ( first 2-3 days )
3. Next 2-3 days apply the products Melan recovery cream and SPF Melan 130+ ( first 2-3 days ) 3 times a day
4. From around day 3 you can start applying your COSMELAN 2 cream (pea-sized only) followed by Melan recovery cream and SPF Melan 130+
5. Follow that 3 times a day
Cosmelan 2 is acid cocktail cream and is packed with active ingredients, that will make your skin peel and also suppress the melanocytes (cells producing the skin pigment or color) to produce more, which means it is a great melanin inhibitor.

Should you perhaps repeat a spot treatment (after 4 weeks) with cosmelan 1 or maybe use other mesoestetic products in conjunction with cosmelan 2 to focus on the stubborn pigment? (after 4 months of using cosmelan 2). I will greatly appreciate your advice. Kind regards

Today is day 16. I purchased the cosmelan 2 kit and home essentials kit to treat PIH. Honestly I had 1 week intense downtime before recovery within 2 weeks. I’m fitzpatrick type iv prone to rosacea, dryness and melasma. Cosmelan 2 has been effective but a few additional steps i took was healite LED facial on day 6 to resolve the dry, angry irritated sensitised skin. I skipped cosmelan 2 on day 6 and 7, my aesthetician recommended I dial back to 1x daily from day 6 onwards. My tips on the journey - know your skin (I discovered hydra vital k and melan recovery was my friend), be careful with applying judiciously especially around the mouth and eyes (this is probably obvious looking back at the video, hydrating eye gel was also my friend), and patiently nurse your skin back to health. The instructions are great but it was helpful to have personalised guidance from an aesthetician as well. Today I’m grateful / lucky for significant improvement on measures like radiance, fine lines, dark spots and even tone. Big thank you for your invaluable guidance ❤
After the peel I can keep using cosmelan 2 and recovery for rest of the 12 months or all the time. You were amazing

I haven't had the Cosmelan 1 peel and I only have fairly mild pigmentation so I wondered if I could apply Cosmelan 2 for less than 8 hours (maybe 4 hours) and still see some results? Would applying the Cosmelan 2 cream for less time result in reduced severity and/or duration of redness and peeling?

Great video, thank you! I had the cosmelan 1 peel done in July to resolve melasma on my upper lip and had fantastic results. I am now on maintenance (cosmelan once daily at night) and I stupidly strip waxed my lip two weeks ago, causing damage to the upper lip and causing the dark pigmentation to reappear above the lip. I am now on the maintenance program with cosmelan 2, restarting the product on my lip tomorrow. Do you suggest I put a thick layer above my lip to beat the pigmentation, or just use a small amount every night?

This was so helpful! I’m currently using Cosmelan 2 after having Cosmelan 1 done by a professional. I really had no clue how much to use of the Cosmelan 2 product and of the recovery lotion. Oh it was amazing. It helped so much that I continue to use the product. It’s really a hidden secret for hyperpigmentation. I had a really bad break out during the lockdown of 2020 when I discovered I was allergic to wheat. My face was awful. The Cosmelan took it all away in what would have taken years to eliminate. I love it!!
my dermatologist gave me only comselan 2 and not melan recovery or spf so is it ok using only cosmelan 2 and not melan reco and spf

Yes you absolutely can, it will jot be as strong treatment, but will still work great

Yes it is better for that type of skin too, as it has very high concentration of Retinol :)

It’s not red or swollen, just a little peel around mouth like tiny bit. But it feels like nothing over all. And the Cosmelan 2 is pigmented and my face looks orange with it on.

I am in the 3rd week of the Cosmelan treatment now (with Cosmelan 1) and still experiencing the peeling daily. 3 times per day I apply the cream and the skin cells come off every time I wash my face. It burns on my skin quite a lot when I put on the cream, and it burns even worse when I apply the Melan Recovery. Could you please tell me if this burning feeling is normal? I plan to use the Cosmelan 2 at least one year, but will my skin peel as long as I it? Or will it stop one day?

Hello, burning is normal yes it burns a lot. The skin will be peeling for may be 3 months, and then will almost stop or at least you will not notice it, so you will feel better. The redness will go dawn too

Can I use Cosmelan 2 cream first as a mask (9-10 hours) and then the 3 x a day routine? 1) How long should I wait to get another Cosmelan 1/2 treatment?
2) I’ve been told that I should stop using Cosmelan 2 cream after 7 months. Can I use it longer for maintenance or as a spot treatment, if so, for how long?
3) I’m running low on melan recovery can I use a mild moisturizer that contains Aloe Vera, Squalane, Glycerin in its place?
4) What product would you choose after a Cosmelan Treatment, melan recovery or hydra vital factor K?
5) If I finish the melan 130 pigment control bottle could I use another spf in its place?

My answers are:
1) at least 1 year full break
2) you can use it much longer , over 1 year or 2, but I do not recommend it as a spot treatment at all, always treat the whole face
3) you can yes, try for a week and if your skin feels fine it is fine
4) hydra vital factor K
5) yes you can but 50+ and physical spf with zinc oxide or titanium dioxide etc.

Hello, this is my first time with cosmelan cream. I didn't get previously the mask, I am using only cosmelan 2 cream. Today is my second day ,I am using the cream only once , at night because my skin is sensitive. My skin is already red and irritated. Hello, yes keep putting the cream only pea size till the pot finish, the skin will gradually reduce redness

I had in clinic Cosmelan 1 treatment over a year ago. I did Cosmelan 2 mask at home a few days ago. It’s been 4days including the day I applied the mask, but my face is still puffy and red. I have had the cosmelan treatment before and it worked amazing! Now after a few years my melasma is coming back a little bit. It’s not nearly as bad as before but I would like to treat it before it gets worse. Would you recommend this treatment in the video (only cosmelan2) for this?

@@kritikachugh96 Kritika, it surely peeled the face when I followed just like her. But it didn’t help the pigmentation deep down. This will give you a new skin, glow and everything else but Cosmelan 1 actually activates the breakup of old pigmentation and cosmelan 2 is the maintenance thing. Which city you put up in, some docs even do a patch cosmelan 1. Get that done instead and use cosmelan2 I’d suggest. Lemme know if you have any further questions.

I have done cosmelan 1 in July 2021 and continued with cosmelan 2 at home until October 2021. My skin My skin has been flawless since then, pigmentation and dark spots were gone completely until I starting breaking out in March 2022. I have a few dark spots now☹️

I had my Cosmelan 1 treatment 2 weeks ago with amazing results and I am using cosmelan 2 three times a day followed by the recovery cream + Epadrem cream but the last three days I started having few red pimples different areas (very rarely I get acne - maybe one or two per year). Shall I stop cosmelan 2 for few days? Or could it be from the Epadrem cream blocking my pores? Thanks
Hello, not sure about that cream epadrem, it def. Might be from it. If you are using the melan recovery, you do not need anything else

Hi it depends on the laser and you can only do that if you are using cosmelan 2 cream once a day ( the evening application ). You can not do any lasers if you apply the cream twice a day

Such a great video you are amazing at sharing your knowledge it’s hard to find good skin specialists in Sydney who provide this level of detail! I had cosmelan 1 treatment done about 11 months ago with great results. I continued to use cosmelan 2 but now have resorted to using it 2-3 times a week at night. I have had some if my freckles and general pigmentation return.

Shading is similar, but I do not work with Dermamelan. I will not advice you to use Dermamelan on your own, it is usually only allowed to be applied by Doctors

I had the Cosmelan 1/2 peel this past September 2021 and my PA said I should not continue Cosmelan 2 after 7 months. You said I can use it up to 2-3 yrs. so if I do that do I take 1 yr break after I use it for 2 or 3 yrs or if I stop after 7 months can I get another Cosmelan treatment September 2022 or is that too soon? Does this make sense? Thanks in advance!
Hello, you def. can use cosmelan 2 very long time. It is a protocol thing. The cream has retinol and it is very good for the skin. You do not have to break at all. However I do not recommend another application of cosmelan 1 in at least 2 years. And also before you apply cosmelan 1 again lets say in 2 years time, you meed break for at least 3 months from cosmelan 2

1. It says to apply it 3 times a day so I was wondering how long should we have to have each application of Cosmelan 2 and the Melan Recovery and spf on for?
2. After every application should I just reapply it over the previous application? Or do I have to keep washing it off for each application?

Hi Eleanora! Thank you for the video and I wish I watched it before I applied the cosmelan 2 at home by my by myself. I applied the cosmelan 2 only on the pigmented areas of my face and left it for 8hrs. After u washed it I had patches of red and it's been 2 weeks now and it's like a brown colour and won't go away. 😢 During the 2 weeks I didn't peel much and the pigmentation is still there so I must of done something wrong and was too afraid to continue the cosmelan 2 as a maintenance cream.
Will these patches of brown (like different colour to my actual skin tone)on my face eventually go away or will my face have patches of dark colour permanently?

Hi thank you for your videos, they are very helpful. I have dark pigmentation on my upper lip only. I'm not sure what it's from whether it is melasma and hormone related or if it's from waxing? Hello, I have had cosmelan 1 applied in a clinic by an Aesthetician. I am on treatment period now with cosmelan 2 and melon recovery cream. I was told to apply twice a day. I am on 14th day now and I don’t see much improvement in skin tone. The skin is still very dry and the redness is there.. it burns while washing face or applying creams. I have a chocolate brown skin tone. I have the below questions. Pls help

Hello, your skin probably has been congested so it is normal to have spots. You can gently use the dermalogica daily superfoliant exfoliator, and this will help with amy blockages. It might take 2 weeks to see results

Follow step 2 for 3 months and then carry on with cosmelan 2 for another 9 months. If you watch my other video in the series cosmelan I explain everything, home care etc.
