INDEBTED: Kenya's Journey to a Debt Crisis [Part 1: The Men in the Arena]

  • Kenya's economy is in serious trouble. The country's leadership has just pushed through Parliament a budget that is driven by the need to collect as much tax as possible. In fact, the government's target of Kshs 3.6 trillion in the 2023/2024 budget is Kshs 1.5 trillion more than the 2022/2023 budget. This speaks to the desperate situation that Kenya is in. But Kenya's debts don't come from thin air.
This story breaks it all down. It is a story of at least a decade of mismanagement of Kenya's loans, shocking corruption and debt dependency that has led the country to this point told by auditors, analysts and insiders.

Government and not holding any elective positions i dont know what govnt constitutes .thats why I said our mps are the main failures , those in previous parliaments that actually oversaw all the madness without doing a thing. Executive can do nothing without parliament, and if push comes to shove parliament can throw out the executive. Sadly they never use their powers to gurd the interest of the country.

Are Azimio politicians not holding elective positions be "Opposition"? There is no such thing as "Opposition" within the framework of 2010 Constitution. It is neither envisaged nor defined, nor established nor facilitated. It does exist. It is a psychological carryover from the repealed independence constitution.

It is not a competition. It 's time we said "enough is enough" and forget that kenyan/ African nonsense of Accept and move on, Mungu ana waona and speak up, name and shame them and finally take action. Africans can't continue living worse than animals in the 1st & 2nd world going around begging while a few are stealing billions ruining the future of our children.
