  • What makes up a PPP (public-private partnership)? Were the Arror and Kimwarer dam projects PPPs or projects fully funded by the Kenyan public through the government? What happened there?
Africa Uncensored's John-Allan Namu looks at the controversial projects at the heart of what's been ailing Kenya even as it struggles with what appears to be an insurmountable debt crisis in the final instalment of the four-part "Indebted" series.

The problem with corruption in Kenya is simply a lack of comsequences. Lack of consequence is because our untouchable leaders are the people doing it. Alll these complex transactions are made to throw us off the scent. The back stops in statehouse and always has!

Lesson learnt, an economist talking and an economist doing what they say are two different things, quite evident in the current regime.

Although its evident that the contracts were altered and the government ended up with a raw deal, this episode lacks conclusive evidence of embezzlement. While it's acknowledged that funds were misappropriated, the underlying motive for government officials to engage in theft does not come out clearly. Judging by what I have watched here, unless Africa Uncensored produces details to the contrary, Ruto was right that no money was lost.

A whopping 50% of debt lost to Corruption? My Goodness, This is the cost of corruption, this is how the current administration has gotten here. What we need as a nation is INTEGRITY at all levels, not just government, even at the individual level.

Failed also to note the reduction of government officials in this country. Most of them are useless at best. The current wage bill is unsustainable. Each official wants a fat paycheck and also lifetime pension. Cut down the number to the bare essential.
