    Easy as! Key blank arrived from Remote Pro to me in Western Australia within 3 days. Easy to remove the circuit board, key, white clip and transponder block. Did not have to dig out with pliers as in this video. Really simple to replace in the key blank. Spent more time fiddling with the key and spring to get the flip to work right when button pushed, than with electronics. Highly recommended. Easy to do and so much cheaper than going to a Hyundai dealer and being ripped off. If you get the metal key blank cut to match, you can use it your old key body, without circuitry as a spare key-only entry.

    Thank you. I was able to fix both of my key FOB's with your video. Breaking the original cases with 2 pliers and not damaging the circuit boards was a bit tricky but in the end it saved me nearly $300.

    thank you so much for your video. i had to replace casing on my i30 key and didn't realise the transponder had to be transferred as well ( the immobilizer didn't work obviously with the engine turning but not firiny and the lock key lamp on the instrument panel). It was a bloody nightmare to separate the chip from the case (the glue was so strong, took me about an hour of carefull work with pliers and Stanley knife) but eventually worked. Great work.

      Mine was tricky to separate the existing case, pretty much destroyed it in the process. Then the transponder chip was equally difficult to extract, had to literally cut away most of the case to get the little bugger out. Must have had plenty of glue available in the Hyundai factory the day that they built my car. All good now though, works fine.Good product, I'd recommend it.

    This is very helpful, but unfortunately the length of key that inserts into the ignition is no longer attached to the rest of the metal part which goes into the rotating mechanism. That's my whole issue! So I can't replace that whole metal section into the new key. Is there any way to fix it if that's the problem? Thanks for your help!

      You should get the new blank key cut to the same shape as your existing broken key by a locksmith

    There is a screw holding the fob together behind the Kia logo on my fob. Also it may be strange but there is no chip in my fob. Car runs just fine. Just have a little trouble with key flipping out. Seems to be too tight.

      tiny tiger t Just finished transferring the old guts on to a new shell on a KIA Sportage 2013, I spent a couple of hours looking for the transponder (chip) thinking I had dropped it while opening it, then I tried turning the engine on and it turned on so that proved to me the transponder is integrated in to the board or something else because there was NO transponder inside that case.

    Do Kia Sorento 2013 have transponder chip? I had my flip key case replaced by a local locksmith. He told me that it doesn't have one (or maybe he can't remember). Good thing, I can start my engine. Any thoughts?

    • @TortureBot
      @TortureBot Před 7 lety

      plaYabaus did you ever get your original fob opened? I have bought new shells for my mother-in-law's keys and am trying to open the first one and I swear it will not come open! You can get the battery compartment off and the battery out but it's like the rest is made together or something. The replacement case popped right open. I swear it is not as easy to open as he makes it look in this video unless for some reason her original fob is glued together. I am glad that I watched this video to see that transponder chip or I may have damaged it trying to muscle the old case open.

    • @RemotePro1

      Hi, the transponder is most likely still in the old key, this is under the white plastic cover and is small and black and about the size of a tic tac. We show the transponder at 2:07 here czcams.com/video/F8yqoHXAo10/video.html Once this is transferred, your key will start the car.

    HELP - I swapped the electronics into a new shell forgetting about the RFID chip. Tried to start the car, then remembered the RFID chip, and fitted that (as per your video, thanks :)). But the car apparently won't accept that RFID chip now. The remote locks / unlocks fine, and the engine cranks, but won't fire. My other key fob is fine.
