    I followed the steps to replace the rubber pad on my keys. It worked perfectly and cost less than $15. Thanks for making this!

    Helpful video. Thanks. Was able to do this in about 10 minutes. I learnt the best way to get the main casing out is to stick long nose pliers in the small hole under the key joint on the side and pull.

    I tried to renew my rubber pad of the key for over one hour. Then I found this video. It's so easy. Remove the old pad, put a little bit super glue and press the new pad on. Perfect. Saves me a lot of money. Thank you for the video

  • @dennisman173

    You actually don't need super glue to secure the rubber part. I just replaced mine and used the video as a reference, but I noticed there is an extra plastic part right under the rubber that you can remove with a little flat head screwdriver. It just needs some controlled force in order not to break it. After you remove this plastic part, you fit the rubber onto it, like wearing it as a cap, and then put it again in place. It needs to click in place and you are ready!! The plastic part kind of sandwiches the edges of the rubber between the shell and the plastic part to keep the rubber in place.
    Great video btw, very detailed!!

      Thanks Dennis V - you're right - hold the two pieces in place with one hand and with the other, pull the edges of the rubber over the edges of hard plastic. They fit securely together - then click into place - no need for glue.

    Brilliant. Such an obvious solution that I hadn't thought of - to simply replace the rubber onto the existing keys rather than try to move all the components over to the new set. I also managed to not need glue as others have said, hopefully it stays in place without it. Seems pretty secure.

    I suffered from tearing the rubber several times until I discovered that there is a piece of plastic under the rubber that can be removed with a little force and then inserted into the rubber cavity and then easily screwed into place again. The calf will be fixed without the need for any glue

    Yes, replacing the rubber pad saved time and money! Also, I did not need to use super glue. I simply used a small, flat screwdriver and worked it in around the edges. Snug, tight, and works. Gracias.

    So you didn’t have to take it to the dealership at all to program? I took my new key shell to get cut and was told only the dealership can program Hyundai keys

    • @xenonentity
      @xenonentity Před 3 lety +1

      You don't need to have it programmed since you're moving the chip/circuitboard into the new case - it's already programmed.
