Haha it appeared first on the backpack as a symbol for a Banjo-Kazooie hacking program known as Banjo's Backpack from my knowledge. Then some of the figures like the first4figures statue picked this up, then eventually the official Smash design had it. It's been around since at least 2010ish.

The Moon shows up in the Termina Bay stage but it's an assist trophy. They just disabled that trophy from being available in that level.

The Black Knight is an static character that is just in the background doing nothing, it wouldn't be enough to justify the Black Knight not being an available Assist Trophy in the stage, so they decided to simply replace him with a generic soldier. The Moon is an important part of the stage, without it the stage loses its novelty, ergo, why they decided to simply prohibit the use of The Moon as an Assist Trophy.

Yeah but the moon is still in great bay and just isn't accessible as an assist on that stage however you might be on to something.

Seeing Magicant up close in 3D really makes me want a full 3D remake/re-imagining of the original Mother.

Having 3D remakes of the entire Mother trilogy has been a fantasy of mine for a good while now. I doubt It'll happen, but we can always dream.
Out of all the Mother games, Mother 1 gets the most shit, its sad. It would need more than a remake to fix its problems, its suffers from the NES syndrome. A lot people tend to forget that Mother 1 is an NES game before they trash it. "Earthbound is better" _well duh_ if it weren't better it would be a shitty sequel...

Hey I do 3D modeling as a hobby and I actually have some answers for some of these "odd" choices in models.
3:28 - It's definite that it's textured under the belly armor to give an animator more leeway when animating certain animations. If it was instead attached to the rest of the body it would cause some weird stretching or if it didn't have texturing underneath there would be weird texturing, it's also likely because it was just easier to make the UV maps like that.
4:15 - It's highly likely that that pin is not fully modeled, if you take a second you can notice the edges around the pin are pixelated which is a sign that it's actually in-fact a flat polygon with a transparent cutout applied to it.
3:55 - This is just to save on polys.

Chrono should be the one Square-Enix character in Smash Bros. Why Cloud is even in that game ? I mean he is clearly the symbol of when Squaresoft started to cucked Nintendo for Sony. Cloud has nothing to do with Nintendo, i may repeat myself but he is even the symbol of the "treason" of Squaresoft. Terra would have been a better choice if they really wanted to release an accurate character related to Nintendo.

And if somebody "betrayed" somebody else that was Nintendo. Remember that it was them leaving Sony what let Sony themselves be able to get the console that could rival Nintendo. So if anything, this is a consequence of their own betrayal.
12:15 At 2014 I remember being super happy when it was revealed that Mother 1 Magicant was getting a fully 3D rendered stage with a new rendition to the original theme. Then it came the sadness because that special stage was trapped as it was a Smash for 3ds exclusive and I thought we, Mother fans, would never be able to see that beautiful stage again. Now it's been 5 years and we finally got it back on glorious HD even with new textures and details not present on the 3ds version. I truly feel happy and I'm very grateful for the level of detail and dedication put by Sakurai and his team!

4:45 Dude, the texture is in the game files, its unused though. Your not going to see it by using in-game methods. You need to dump the model contents from the game to assets to view it.
i'm super glad that the fourside stage was looked at in this episode! i got to see into the monotoli building's office and those apartments with the ingame camera before, and was hoping to eventually get a better look at them in a boundary break video at some point lmao

Untitled Goose Game is actually a really safe bet, the Goose market is HUGE right now.
The thing about Sans' blue eye wasn't that it was a rumor that he HAS the blue eye, it's that someone found that there's a distinct empty space on the texture sheet that seems like where the blue eye would go, and that space maps specifically to the left eye.
16:50 They probably removed the black knight due to the fact that he’s also an assist trophy and it would have been strange to have two black knights on screen at the same time (similar to engineer Link being replaced with Alfonzo when Toon Link is used on the spirit tracks stage.)
It wouldn't be the first time they remove an assist trophy for just one stage though. Pretty sure the Moon can't spawn on Great Bay because it already shows up in the stage, and even more interestingly, Alucard doesn't show up on Wii Fit Studio because he's a vampire and showing up in the mirrors would be wrong
